It gets quite lively, especially considering the DJ and the unlimited breakfast cocktails that come with the buffet, so it's probably better for a younger crowd rather than brunch with your grandparents.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Lincoln this pastI went to Lincoln this past weekend with my boyfriend; we had been wanting to try it for while and had heard incredible reviews from friends who had gone. I was most definitely not disappointed. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service was terrific, and the entire experience was fantastic. The restaurant does small plates so you get to try a bunch of different dishes. Here is a list of food we ordered: crab risotto (unbelievable), fried green tomatoes (a special, fantastic), duck sausage (was wrapped in a pastry, amazing), mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, tuna tar tar, short ribs. This week, I had the opportunity to dine at Lincoln twice, once for a group dinner and once for lunch. Both times were great. The group dinner had a variety of appetizers and entrees that were outstanding, but the smoked salmon with latkes, the gnocchi and the steak stood out. What was particularly notable was the perfect potion size. Not to small and not overwhelming. The service by the staff also was perfect. Very attentive in getting our group off to a good start, good pacing of our three courses, and then gave us space to relaxing and enjoy the evening.
Lunch was equally good, however the noise level inside was a bit challenging. The food is outstanding and the drinks are great to. Awesome theme and the menu never gets old. The chef switches items up which really makes me want to keep coming back. I was sitting outside on a gorgeous night, and then it started pouring. The umbrellas protected us from the rain and really made for a great experience. Our waitress was charming and attentive, as were the other members of the staff who came to visit our table. The food was well presented and arrived in just the right portions in addition to the already available tapas plates. Down side ? The Mac and cheese was a bit soupy and the asparagus salad was confusing and the way it was plated made it difficult to eat. It's always nice being a regular somewhere, but at a place like lincoln that gets especially crowded when the patio furtniture is out i really appreciate that the staff recognizes and appreciates my business-great service really starts at the door.
as far as food goes- i highly recommend the scallops and kale salad for something lighter. on the heavier side, the chicken pot pie and mac and cheese are amazing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVibrant with Great FoodThis place was very loud and "energetic" doesn't quite do it justice (we were there 8:30pm on a Friday. Don't expect to have a quiet meal here - but since we weren't there for that, it was easy to get caught up in the energy of the place. Great service was attentive without being over the top. The small plate style of this place meant that my wife and I could sample a lot of different foods without feeling stuffed. The fact that the food comes out "when its ready" means it's hot and allows you the opportunity to have what is effectively multiple courses. The food was universally very good and we enjoyed all of it. We ordered, the kale salad, calamari fries, shrimp and grits, asparagus salad, short ribs, mac and cheese, and maybe a few other thing that I can’t remember. I would return for the kale salad alone (I hope they keep it on the menu) but everything was tasty and well presented. Our waiter, Lou, was fun and informative about both the menu and the “Lincolnalia”; he came back to check with us often enough to make sure we had what we needed to keep the party going. Our server's name was Jimmie and he was very helpful. We told him what we were looking for and let him pick out most of our plates and he did a wonderful job! I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese, the kale salad was light and fresh. It was a bit loud but it was a vibrant place and the bar was full the entire evening. It was a little windy by the end of the night so we didn't take advantage of the outdoor seating but maybe another time for happy hour. It is one of my favorite lunch places, and is near my office. Went to celebrate my birthday with family and while at times it was a little loud to have a conversation, it was not really a problem. The food was so good and the service was fantastic. We weren't disappointed at all. My favorite was the bone marrow and biscuits. The biscuits were basically butter which was great. I could have just eaten those the entire night. This is a great small plates restaurant that serves american food in smaller size portions - all the better so guests can choose a few of the great items. But you will not leave hungry if you only order two items. My 16yo son and I ordered 5 items to share and it was plenty. The brussels sprouts dish was delicious, as was the macaroni and cheese. We had some spinach and artichoke beignets and then had one of the risotto specials and a pork entree. There were plenty of salads to choose from as well.
