Limones RestaurantBest of the bestLimones is always wonderful and I think it is even getting better, if that is possible. Delicious!!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Fajitas I've Ever EatenWho knew Fajatas could be SO Gourmet and delicious?? I had to eat every bite!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Great food - well prepared, large selection, served in a timely fashion. Service was outstanding. Recommend with enthusiasm.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest fish taco ever!It was a wonderful dinning experience. The food and service were perfect. To top it all off they served complementary dark chocolate truffles with a hint of cayenne. A perfect way to complete a perfect dinning experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLobster nachos were terrific!I ordered a regular margarita. It was good--but I think it was more about the tequila--and I'm not much of drinker, so I'm more about the fruit juice. At $9, I've had better margaritas for half the price. Then we ordered the nachos--which I would order in the future as a main course. For dinner, my husband ordered the scallops with lobster risotto which he really enjoyed. I ordered the tequila beef fajitas. Not bad--but again at $18, I've had better for much less.
So, I enjoyed the nachos and the ambience of the restaurant--our server, Emily, was also very good.
I don't know what folks mean by slow service--we had a 5 p.m. reservation as we were going to a concert at Diana Wortham at 7 p.m. We left the restaurant by 6:40 p.m.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent choiceWe enjoyed this restaurant very much. The food was great and atmosphere was comfortable. We went with friends and we were able to talk without having to yell. All the food was wonderful and the Margarita list is extensive.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service.just a great place for a nice dinner with my wife. food was delicious. a couple of drinks set us back $12 each but they were very tasty. we would go back tomorrow if we weren't from out-of-town. service was great.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWill go back againGreat food and service. A bit Pricey by well worth it!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe small space and smartThe small space and smart decor complement Euro-Mexican fusion cuisine that is as tasty as it is attractively presented. Friendly servers are attentive and knowledgeable. A local favorite to which we return regularly.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNever let's downWith a 10 month old, date nights are far and few between. Steak fajitas were pretty good as well, but I would probably try something else next time.
Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
Overall a great experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food experienceWe ate here on Friday and enjoyed it so much that we booked for Sunday also. Really interesting and tasty gourmet mexican food. They also have some great looking entrees that are not mexican. We had the chicken tinga nachos as an appetizer both nights and really enjoyed it. The chocolate torte was awesome, so we had that again. Great dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Limones was recommended by our host in the Asheville area during our second trip to Asheville. We were warned it was very popular and difficult to get in. Thanks to OpenTable we were able to make an early reservation on a Friday night! It was fabulous. The atmosphere was peaceful, and gave a feeling of being in an old building in San Miguel de Allende. Our server was very helpful and made wonderful recommendations for us. Living in Texas, and traveling a lot in Mexico and southwest USA, we've tasted a lot of different Mexican food. Limones offered a versatile menu of exquisite dishes, drinks, and wines. I especially loved the lobster nachos, lobster ravioli, and the ginger margarita. We will be back the next time we're in Asheville.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Perfect Mother's DayWhen we visit Asheville, we 're sure to make a reservation at Limones before we get on the plane. Mother's Day evening was crowded but calm. The fish tacos were amazing. My husband had the sopas (we had to ask what they were and they turned out to be a delightful piece of fried dough with shredded meat on top) and the necessary guacamoles and salsas to top them off. One can't leave without sharing the tres leches cake. Perfection.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe local shrimp and ravioliThe local shrimp and ravioli dish was exceptional--gorgeous presentation and an explosion of flavors!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingOne of the best Mexican fusion restaurants anywhere.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMtravelerWe were staying at the Grove Park Inn for a conference and Limones was on the recommended list of restaurants. We (from SC), along with some friends from Oklahoma ate there. It was great. The best food and atmosphere of the entire weekend. The 'Okies" really loved the atmosphere. We had the lobster nachos and they were perfect. Great place! Would go again.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently great.Limones is our goto spot for special occasion spot - great cocktails, great wine list, and consistently delicious and interesting food. The service is always outstanding, and despite being busy, the restaurant is quiet enough to enjoy conversation.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't MissGreat food, margaritas and environment. Make sure you put this on the list.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative food and drinksWe have been to Limones a number of times. The food is creative and excellent, service excellent as well. If you have a heartier appetite an entree alone may be enough, but that is fine with us as we like sampling different dishes.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLimones is one of our favorites!Limones is one of our favorites! The food is always amazing and the service is great.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLimones exceeded all expectationsThey are known for their variety of, made from scratch, margaritas, so we started with two of those. Cucumber and lime margarita, shaken, strained and served up, and a spicy berry margarita served on the rocks with a salted rim. Bruno, our waiter, gave us some nice menu descriptions that led us to a white sausage, truffle mac and cheese app, as well as ceviche with papaya, avocado, and red onion served with fresh tortillas. My wife had the beef tenderloin cooked exactly the way she wanted it, and I had the sea scallops with lobster risotto. A+ on all food consumed! So many flavors coming together at once in a non competing way made for a memorable dinner. From top to bottom service was outstanding! Do yourself a favor and make reservations!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA small, always busy restaurantA small, always busy restaurant serving Euro-Mexican fusion. The selections are interesting and varied, the presentation is attractive, and the food is delicious! Service is friendly and knowledgeable. A variety of mixed drinks are available with excellent margaritas and mojitos. The noise level can be high. Certainly one of the top dining spots in Asheville. A favorite to which we regularly return.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLIved up to it's rep!So I heard from many friends at work, that this restaurant was one of the best in downtown (asheville). I share my co-workers opinion indefinitely. I'm a foodie, who is a former fine dining server. I am fair, but I have high standards when it comes to quality of food & service. My mom can be picky at times and she was over the moon over the whole meal. She had the pork chops & I, the scallops. The food was flavorful, fresh, and huge portions! Our server was knew her stuff & had a great personality too. Please give Limones a try, I guarantee you will have a an amazing local food experience.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe various dishes orderedThe various dishes ordered by my wife and me were all outstanding. I hope to return often.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA local favorite! Have alwaysA local favorite! Have always found this restaurant to have an exciting combination of food, service and ambience for dinner. However, just went for a weekend brunch and was overwhelmed with menu choices--from breakfast to lunch items. Very creative combinations of latin specialties were quite delectable as well as attractively presented. From nachos (chicken or lobster) to chilaquiles (with eggs) the food was outstanding. The service was somewhat slow and inattentive. Otherwise an excellent experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food and menu--everythingTerrific food and menu--everything is scratched-made. Had a reservation and a choice of 3 tables. Service was excellent. It's a small place and was very loud for us. Hard to carry on a conversation.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinner!Really outstanding, fresh and innovative cuisine. This restaurant is at the top of our list for dining in Asheville!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCurtain Call FoodThe guests we sent there are here for 7 nights and returned again Sunday @5 p.m. for another round. Case made.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely loved this restaurant...Absolutely loved this restaurant... We love everything about Limones!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal! Every base isPhenomenal! Every base is covered here. AMAZING food. AMAZING service. Many restaurants in Asheville are all hype. Limones pays attention and is unmatched in every arena. This will be my first stop next time I'm in town.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautifully executed creativeBeautifully executed creative pan-Mexican cuisine with a smart infusion of local ingredients.
Not gimmicky, just well crafted and delicious. Always mature service and good management.
Cocktails are very tasty and work very nicely with the food.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOME!Food was AMAZING!It was SO Fresh & the flavors were totally different (in a good way)than I can even begin to describe! It was our first time there and we will be back for sure! Highly recommended!Enjoy! :)4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, Fun time for aGreat food, Fun time for a special occasion. awesome cocktails!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting culinary mixTucked away on a side street in bustling downtown Asheville, Limone's is a real find! It is rated highly, and one definitely needs reservations for dining here. It is not a large restaurant, is attractive (locked the touch of the napkin rings!), but it is very noisy. The restaurant obviously is aware of the noise problem, because there are noise baffles near the ceiling. The menu is an amazing fusion mix. One of us had the wild mushroom enchiladas, which were good. The pork chop was large, flavorful, and tender. The fajitas needed more flavor in the way of seasonings. Ditto the pick de gallo. Service was good. This was a birthday celebration, and the restaurant brought out a slice of cake with a candle on it for us.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your usual mexicanI called about an hour before our reservation that we would be 30 minutes late and they were accommodating, they even saved the quiet table I had requested. The only negative about the restaurant is the noise level. Even sitting in the window it has a high decibel level. My husband had the Caesar salad and fajitas and I had the venison. All were excellent. The venison was like butter.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Eagle has landedWe had a wonderful dinner. The server was knowledgeable of the menu items and gave recommendations. The food was outstanding! We had crab cakes with pretzel in them, topped with pineapple and pesto, the most flavorful duck quesadillas and we even saved room for dessert! The restaurant was quiet since we dined after 9pm , which was wonderful and very romantic! The restaurant is small though so I could imagine during a busy time there could be quite a wait. It is well worth it though! The flavored in each of the items we ordered including the margaritas, were so original and mouth watering! I highly recommend.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMCeviche (non-papaya one) wasCeviche (non-papaya one) was beyond belief. Chile relleno was fantastic. BBQ duck quesadillas were good but not astounding (I think I should have questioned the BBQ choice, as I was not out for a BBQ sandwich...). Glass of Rioja was memorable. Loved the unexpected dark chocolate-cayenne truffle at the end. Super nice experience!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are locals. Love this resturauntWe are locals. Love this resturaunt. Have eaten here several times. Service was super. Food was excellent.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Limones and we were not disappointed. We tried the ceviche and it was delicious. For our entrees, my husband had the fish tacos and I had the beef brisket sopes. Both were really very tasty and we savored each bite. The decor and atmosphere was inviting and the service attentive. We will definitely be back!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery creative menu. We hadVery creative menu. We had the plantains & guac app, seared scallops over couscous w/watermelon salsa, and short ribs. Servers really worked as a team. Food came out hot & fresh. All the ingredients are locally sourced so the menu rotates weekly. It's a small restaurant so be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation. It can be noisy, but that didn't bother us. Great overall experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exquisite, eachThe food was exquisite, each bite a taste sensation, beautifully presented. The service was just perfect, our server was VERY knowledgeable of the food, wine and most importantly the Tequila list!! She really supported us is picking the best of everything that suited our tastes. Her suggestions were perfect. Don’t pass up the dessert list, its a must do, even if you have to share (you won't want to, there soooo yummy and not too sweet).4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and friendlyExcellent food and friendly staff. They were very helpful and friendly when I needed to change the reservation time , even on a busy night.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMthe seared sea scallops, gritsthe seared sea scallops, grits and microgreens were excellent, a nice combination served perfectly unified by some magical sauce. Service was perfectly attentive and pleasing but not at all intrusive. Having a table in the front window probably spared us from being overwhelmed by the noise of all the enthusiastic diners. Flan for desert a great treat, huge serving. Ginger & lime margarita was astonishing in flavor and refreshment. I'm never disappointed by the food or the service.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I traveledMy husband and I traveled to Asheville to visit our son for his 30th birthday. He chose Limones for his birthday dinner, and we are so thrilled he did. The food was perfect, service so efficient, and drinks were a lot of fun.
We will definitely be back!!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in Asheville!!I have been here several times, and the service is always perfect (they remember me even after a few months!), and the food is so inventive.
