A word from Limon
The vision for Limón, Denver’s eclectic Latin American bistro, began during Chef Alex Gurevich's trips to the Latin American region. Continually in awe of and impressed by the richness of the culture and cuisine, he envisioned a place in Denver where people could gather to experience the warmth and liveliness of Latin America. Limón's space was built with this concept in mind. It is rustic and inviting, comfortable and chic. Burgundy walls, exposed brick, wide plank wood floors and antique casks set an undeniably warm tone. The restaurant and patio offer distinctly different settings where guests can enjoy the food, the ambience and the energy that represent the Latin American lifestyle.

Limón is located in the revitalized uptown district of Denver and serves inspired Latin American cuisine that blends various styles of preparation but uses fresh, authentic ingredients.

Diner Reviews
  • "Limon it outstanding. I have eaten there several times, the service is awesome, the food is incredible! It is small and very cozy with a group or somewhat romantic with just hubby and I! I highly recommend it. It is one of my favorites!!!"

  • "Our first time was a great experience. Was able to try several menu items and they all were delicious."

  • "Food was good but overpriced in general. They charged us for 3 tiny slices of bread. No butter or oil or anything- just 3 dry pieces of bread. Can't remember how much they charged but anything was too much."

  • "I took my lady to Limon for her birthday. Overall, the food was creative and excellent. HOWEVER, The Shrimp Ceviche was VASTLY overpriced for what you get. That item needs to be recognized for it's poor value."

  • "nice small plates that allow you to be able to try a lot. Good flavors and lovely people serving. I really liked that the owner came over and asked our opinion."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants my husband and I have ever been to. The food was extraordinary. Plenty of choices for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Exciting menu, outstanding experience in every way. "

  • "Even with my groupon, it was not worth the "$160" bill that we had. I understand what they are trying to do but they just aren't giving customers the whole experience. There are many other high price restaurants in the area that I would rather spend my time. Also, the waitress was rude and even rolled her eyes at our group at one point. "

  • "We were at Limon on a Sunday evening. Most of the time, there was only one other party in the restaurant. Our waiter was great and let us order the tapas-style shared dishes one at a time, as we preferred. There was no ambience, because there were no people! We looked at the menu online and assumed it was just a sampling of dishes offered. Wrong! What you see is what you get at Limon. Food is listed as Central American, South American, and Caribbean. We sampled some of each. They were all very bland and lacking the character of their region. Even the pisco sour was made odd by a generous sprinkling of cinnamon on the top?!? We won't be back."

  • "Overall a very nice experience. Service was great. Food was very good. Parking a bit of a challenge but very worth the walk."

  • "I had always wanted to do Limon. I did not realize it was a small plates restaurant where you can sample and share many dishes with friends. In spite of the slow service and forgetfulness of the wait staff (we kept had to remind her of a order or two), the food was so tasteful and artfully presented. Atmosphere was quiet and very conducive to conversation, Of course it was a Sunday night and there were not many patrons at the time we were there...so it was a treat for us to just talk over the 3 hours we were there. I would definitely return."

  • "You can go small or you can go big! Food is excellent, service is friendly, attention to detail and requests are great for this place!"

  • "The raspberry jalapeño creme brule topped off an evening of wonderful surprises. The atmosphere is pleasant, but not overwhelming. The staff was very attentive, and seemed to enjoy describing the courses as they were delivered. We had a great time. Very relaxed with time to savor everything!"

  • "First, we had a reservation for 7 and were sat next to the door despite other large tables being open. It was snowing and we were freezing -hostess fail. We were there for Restaurant week so I try to be lenient since it’s hard on staff. However, we had to stop the server several times to get a drink – the main complaint with the promotion is low ticket totals so why wouldn't she want us to order another round? The food was not as impressive as other Latin American restaurants. Recommended items like the scallops and the wok-fried beef were barely touched; dessert is the only thing that kept us from having to eat a second dinner elsewhere. I think the food and service are lacking the extra touch to make it memorable and a return destination"

  • "The food items list was not extensive but it includes a variety of dished to choose from. The food was fresh and tasty and the restaurant was very clean something i considered very important when we east out. Casual atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu includes many Gluten free selections and the list changes often. A place to go."

  • "My fiancée and I chose to spend our Valentine's evening at Limon this year and enjoyed ourselves very much. The special menu was a great value and the Skirt Steak and Pumpkin Soup were especially delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening!"

  • "A cozy place with delicious food. Small plates are from Central and South America. We loved the white fish in lime, citrus salad with mango and fennel, crab cakes w/veggies, and a spicy pumpkin soup. The black bean biscuits with butternut squash and goat cheese was another favorite. Dessert finished the meal off very well-- flan with caramel sauce. Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Our second visit -- and it won't be our last."

  • "My boyfriend and I have been here a couple of times for dinner. We always have a great time and the food is always excellent. We enjoy the the small plates so we can try a variety of items on the menu. Plus it is fun to share :)"

  • "My wife and I went here for Valentine's day for the special they were having and the food was great and the setting was perfect. Really good tapas to share with your loved one had a blast."

  • "We used to LOVE this place, but between the menu changes over the past year, and this past visit, we may not be going back. We had to return a bean soup that was runny, and even though we made clear we wanted certain things first, they were not presented in that order. If the soup hadn't been sent back, my wife would have had to watch me eat the skirt steak dish. Servers didn't check on us much except to try to get us to buy more drinks. And, they didn't check me into Open Table, so I had to take extra steps to make sure I got my "credit." Definitely didn't have A team in the kitchen or on the floor on NY Eve."

  • "Were greeted, checked in, and seated right away. Our server, Summer, was very friendly, efficient and fast. I liked the cozy decor and the place was very vibrant. This restaurant serves small plates (tapas). Chose one Central America dish-Pork Picadillo Tamale, $10, one South American dish-Skirt Steak & Chimichurri, $14 and one Caribbean dish-Slow-Roasted Shredded Beef (Ropa Vieja), $13. All of them were quite tasty, especially the Skirt Steak & Chimichurri, which was a really good portion. We ended the meal with the Banana Tres Leches with one Americano coffee and a double expresso. It was very tasty."

  • "Interesting variety of plates (a bit larger than Tapas) that are great for sharing. Several are good with a few that shine. Nice evening with really pleasant service. I'd go back."

  • "Food was fine and our server was good but had to wait over a half hour for our reserved table and forty minutes between first two dishes and last two. The maître d was rude. When my wife told him that forty minutes between dishes was too long he informed us that was how dining was supposed to be. He put us down and then hAd an attitude the rest of the evening. We were there 2.5 hours and we didn't even have dessert. Drinks were also overpriced."

  • "They told us this is not tapas, but I think it really was that. Either way I loved it. A great atmosphere, not too loud. The drinks were amazing and picking food from various countries was great. This is different than your average restaurant and has a great upscale south american tapa feel."

  • "Lots of lovely flavors in the small share plates....a delightful way to dine...nice because the cuisine is out of the ordinary and very well prepared."
    Dined on 10/3/2013
  • "The only thing I would add is that it is so dark in there, and the print on the menu so fine and in an unusual font, that I could barely read the menu and finally had to just ask the waiter to tell me what was on it. My boyfriend has had Lasic and still had some trouble with the menu."

  • "Enjoyed dinner at Limon on a Saturday night. Nice atmosphere outside on the patio, fairly quiet inside. Service was attentive but not overbearing - dishes arrived timely and promptly. Everything we had was good, in particular the tamale and street tacos."

  • "We had a friend in from out of town. So, we went to Limon. Had never been there - so glad we went. We had one of nearly everything on the menu plus drinks (for 3) and it was less than $200. Loved it!"
    Dined on 5/23/2013
  • "Nice variety of dishes. For people that are not from the countries represented it will be a nice and new experience. Generally speaking the dishes are well executed. However, most of the dishes are more inspired by the originals than the real thing. They need to pull back on the salt a bit. That will make their already good soups outstanding. The habanero salsa that goes with the gorditas was really good. The drinks are well prepared and presented. The latin american beers are not well represented. I do not understand why a latin american inspired restaurant does not have a good representation of quiality rums from the Spanish Caribbean Islands. Service was efficient and professional but not special. I would recommend this place to others."

  • "Great food! Delicious twists on classic south American food. Dishes are smaller and meant to be shared which was perfect as there was so many items I wanted to try. Each was unique and was difficult to decide which one was the best. I highly recommend this, smaller, quiet and unique restaurant."

  • "Looking forward to making this a regular spot in denver. We try dozens of new restaurants in Denver each year so repeaters are rare for us. We enjoyed it so much we will be back for our second visit. If it goes as well as the first visit I am sure it will be a regular stop,"
