Terrific food that warms your cockles and taste better then granmas! a quaint interior - I felt like I was in beautiful french kitchen,and koodos to Armand for getting this so right. Plus some really good glasses, ahem , bottles of wine. Really ladies,once you see it who can resist this beautiful named restaurant- Lily Maes...I want to take all of my girlfriends , sit for an evening and pour my heart out. The space is beautiful and elegant without being fussy. The servers are great!
I'm not much of a breakfast person, but the pancakes converted me. So light and fluffy but rich at the same time.

The red snapper special was beautifully presented and delicious. Armand, the owner, joined us in response to our questions and shared the story of how he and his partner started the restaurant. They have become a welcome part of the neighbourhood, with a special outreach to locals and their doggie pets. I noticed one dog pausing in his evening walk to allow his owner time to get a treat for him before continuing. There is a sincerity and generosity of spirit here, that finds it's way into the food, which we found excellent.

Our server was helpful and attentive to the point of creating a new drink when the bar didn't have the liquor I'd requested. My colleagues thoroughly enjoyed their Gnocchi and Mussels (two dishes), though my Tenderloin was a bit tough. Very attentive and friendly service. Although this was our first visit, it was as if we were greeted by friends. We arrived on a Sunday at 11am to a quiet restaurant, but within the hour it was filled. Great people watching venue :-) The owners have put care into crafting a little piece of Paris in downtown Vancouver. Our brunch meals were delicious. Good food, good service in a funky, relaxed atmosphere with an un-rushed attitude to dining. The small space is beautifully finished and has a cozy ambience that is suitable for smaller groups and couples. My wife and I are locals and have already been four times with more to come.
