A word from Lillie's
An Irish-Victorian Bar and Restaurant, just steps from Union Square. In the "Ladies' Mile District" of days gone by. The interior has a distinctly late 19th century feel with wooden furnishings brought from Belfast, Ireland.
Serving a wide range of domestic and international beers (20 on tap and 30 bottled). A great selection of whiskeys and wines, including some excellent wine from the Langtry Winery in California where Lillie herself owned and lived for a time.

The food is traditional Pub Fare, including soups, salads, stews, fish and steaks. The Irish Breakfast is served all day. Brunch at the weekends from 11am to 4pm.

Traditional Irish music session on Saturdays at 4pm.

Diner Reviews
  • "Was recommended by a friend. Made a reservation for a Friday night at 7p. Restaurant was already pretty busy when we arrived, but was seated right away. Food was excellent, service was great. I would definitely come back!"

  • "We were looking for a new venue for lunch conveniently located near Union Square. We googled restaurants nearby and WOW! The food was awesome!"

  • "Very cute Victorian-styled decoration. Great bar food. Definitely a neighborhood gem for Chelsea and Union Square."

  • "The space has high ceilings with a Victorian decor scheme. The drink selection is decent, the food is great, and if you go for lunch, they have a great special for a drink & sandwich/salad. I often go for lunch with my office, and I can't help but order the Reuben sandwich. So good. Most recently, though, I went with a group for dinner and ordered the house salad, which has truffle oil on it...YUM."

  • "They make amazing turkey burgers. But the steak salad I ordered... not too good. Asked for Medium..came out well done. The lettuce was soaked in the dressing. So the salad was very soggy."

  • "We weren't sure what to expect before we arrived and was pleasantly surprised to find a busy bar playing excellent music. The restaurant bit is at the bottom of the bar and we snaked our way through the packed bar to our very little table. The food was prompt and delicious and we would've liked to have stopped for a drink after but we we were exhausted. You could definatly go for the night, a great little find."

  • "Gotta love Lillie's. The food is very good and the beers are very fun. Go with the mussels to start!"

  • "The food and service was really good. The stools, however, across from the benches are too small unless you are thin!! I kept shifting in the chair and wsa uncomfortable, felt like I was sliding all over the place. But other than that, it was fine."

  • "Thursday night noisy, speedy service, lovely help, a real hangout place, especially with women. In that part of town recommend it for great drinks, good food, moderate prices. As i said a real hangout kind of place. Definitely go back."

  • "I loved this location- I have been to the Lillie's in the theater district- and the service is always its downfall. This location was just as charming and the service was 100% better. the brunch was great and for the price...it's unbeatable for the area. my friends and I enjoyed ourselves and will most definitely be back again. • "We went for a burger-- food ok, but dining room was very noisy. Cute ambience, good variety on menu."

  • "The food was great and I absolutely loved the Victorian Style! If you go, definitely request the velvet seats!"

  • "We chose this restaurant because we had movie tickets to a nearby theatre. Both of us had virgin Mary's and an omelet. I substituted salad for potatoes for which they charged $1 extra. Food was good but portions seemed small. The seating is all on high stool chairs. Not the most comfortable when garbed in cool weather clothes. Good enough but not great."

  • "The food is overpriced, but good. The crowd is mostly there for the bar. We had a table in the back so we were away from the noise. Interesting place off the beaten path."

  • "The beers were great as always but the food was not up to par this time. Soggy bread half empty sandwiches. A little disappointing. But we will definitely give it another chance"

  • "Loved the old New York ambiance, the old fixtures and wood. The lunch special menu with choice of beverage-beer, soda, juice or coffee tea was a nice touch. I enjoyed my juicy cheeseburger and the others in my party also enjoyed their choices. I would definitely make a return visit when in the area again."

  • "I came here with a few friends for dinner. The food and service were great, but we decided we'd come back for the bar scene rather than the dining experience. there are a few tables in the back, but most of the people and noise come from the crowded bar."

  • "Interesting Décor and a reasonably priced menu make this a hit near Union Square."

  • "The fact that it is categorized as an Irish bar really undersells the place. I loved the Victorian decor, the brunch was great and in perfect size for me (I can see how big guys wouldn't think its enough) the cocktails were great and service excellent! To top it all off this great jazz band started playing which made the ambiance even better! Highly recommend, especially for a date if you're trying to impress a girl ;)"

  • "Our first visit to Lillie's was just after Christmas last year, on a Wednesday for late lunch. The place was nearly empty, absolutely gorgeously decorated, the service bright and attentive, the food very good. Very. Our second attempt last month, right before Christmas on a busy crowded Saturday afternoon -- couldn't get in, 45 minute wait. Okay. Our third attempt, for which we made reservations, was this past Saturday late afternoon, post-Opera. Place was JAMMED. Very loud, lot's of 20-30 somethings in very spirited conversations. Fish and chips Excellent. Shepard's Pie Good, Oscar Wilde burger Excellent. However, short ribs with mashed potatoes-- had to send it back. Like an entire shaker of salt had been dumped into the sauce. Not good."

  • "Absolutely delicious! The interior is insane, amazing stain glass windows, natural brick walls, great chandeliers and a plethora of awesome paintings. Great atmosphere, lovely comfort food, and fantastic prices. We came for lunch and got a pint of beer and a burger for only $12."

  • "Great food and ambience, but extremely crowded and loud. If you go there with the intent to have a conversation, request a single table against the wall."

  • "I cannot say they were not accomdating...we went for Brunch...the food was excellent..but was a bit dissapointed with no bread basket..as arrived starving..service was slow but freindly and in the end since my omelette was overcooked which I specifically asked for it medium..not well done ...when they brought me a new one it was perfect and delicious and ther best part was they did not charge so we left a big tip!"

  • "I've been to Lillie's several times for brunch and it's always been a pleasure to come back! Food is excellent (love their Eggs Norwegian) and affordable; the service has always been outstanding . The decor transports you back to the Victorian era and the live Irish music goes perfect with gloomy winter days. I will keep coming back and introducing friends to this great spot."

  • "I ate dinner here on NYE 2013 as part of a party of 4. We were 30 minutes late due to traffic and Lillie's were kind enough to hold our reservation which was much appreciated. The food was excellent! I had mac and cheese which was also very good, and some of our group had steak which looked amazing, cooked to perfection and exactly as requested. I was very impressed with the quality of the food here! Service was very good, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Ambience was good, it was busy but not overcrowded and there was a great atmosphere. The decor was awesome too - lots of character and some great Christmas decorations! I feel like I've found a hidden gem of a bar - will definitely return!"

  • "This was our first time at Lillie's. Everything we had was delicious except for my entree. The place is very festive and that added to the experience. If I come again though I will not order fish. I think their burgers and meat dishes are the better choices. Or for lunch a salad."

  • "A great place to try. Good food and great prices for NYC. Can't go wrong. This place is always packed, so make reservations. The very often have live music too. Very nice."

  • "food was awful - pork chop was tough and the sauce was basically watered down ketchup! The chopped salad was NOT chopped. A few shreds of turkey deli meat was literally thrown on some day old spinach leaves. The noise was unbearable and the tables were so close together, plus, they put more people at a table than it can hold. A four-top table next to us was seated with five people who spilled over into the tiny space allotted to our two-top which was against a wall. So noisy you can't talk. If the food is bad and the ambiance is non-existing, why would you go there?"

  • "The lunch salmon entree with mashed potatoes & spinach was excellent. The salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries was great as well. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays!"

  • "Fascinating and fun decor with great atmosphere. Generally friendly and good service though they occasionally get distracted. The comfort food there is fine but you're not going there for that. Great spot for quick bite before theatre or nitecap after. Definitely should be checked out at least once."

  • "Took a stab in the dark for a bite after a day of shopping, we were pleasantly surprised! The place was packed...which is always a good sign! Irish music playing in the front, beautiful stained glass in the back and decor throughout. Food was delicious, pints were flowing. Great atmosphere and pricing was very reasonable for NYC. Overall a great expereince fora first timer! Will definately be back!"

  • "I've been to Lillie's - both locations for Happy Hours/after work, but I came across their brunch menu when I was meeting my college roommates for brunch. Made an 11:30 reservation and when we showed up we were the only people there. The space is adorable, and the service was good (also..considering we were the only ones there for about half of our meal). The waitress was a little confused when two of the girls asked for Bellinis in place of Mimosas- she said no problem and then she came back a few minutes later to say that they couldn't make Bellinis. No harm done though. Food is good, I'll be back."

  • "I had always walked by and wanted to try Lillie's based on the lovely space. The space did not disappoint. The Victorian decor is lovely but I was surprised it didn't feel more intimate. Also, the music was way too loud which caused a lot of shouting. A space that does Victorian parlor well is The Dove and, though it's mostly a bar, it feels intimate. I was very disappointed in the food. Really mediocre. My friends did not finish their food and my mac and cheese was not very good at all. I felt like it was one of those frozen dishes you throw in the oven and the mushrooms were thrown as an afterthought. The hostesses and our waitress were all really great. I was disappointed but I would return for drinks based on the staff and decor."
