A word from Lil' Frankie's
Italy's neighorhood pizzeria's are known as really casual places to hang out, meet friends, eat, drink and talk. Lil' Frankie's is just that. We offer real Neapolitan pizza, made exactly as it's made in Naples, fresh handmade pastas cooked to order, a wine and grappa list that rivals any in the city, and friendly (never pushy) service - all in a setting designed to make you feel at home.

Our brick, wood burning, oven was handcrafted by a 3rd generation Neapolitan oven builder, brick by brick. It features real lava from Vesuvio and through a unique double dome design, recycles heat to reach near 900 degrees.

Great service, great food, loved the atmosphere. Make sure you ask how much the daily specials are. We ordered off the specials list which didn't have the prices printed, and we spent about $5 more per dish than the standard menu. Our bill was a bit of a surprise...

i had a birthday dinner here with 6 people. the food is pretty good but i was not blown away. there's a tasty and relatively inexpensive wine selection. service was informal and a bit slow, but friendly. the best part is that the dishes can really all be shared so it's a great spot to order a bunch of items and split.

Lil' Frankie's really fits the bill. From the delicious wood fired pizza, super fresh salads and top notch lattes, it really is a gem. Our waitress was fantastic- she was sweet, had great recommendations and we tipped her well :) We'll be back.

Hip, busy and loud. Food was good, but inconsistent. Pasta dishes were either over cooked, or terribly al dente (out of the box hard). Sauces tasty, but taste was undercut by poorly cooked pasta. Appetizers were tasty, especially the LF's salad, which was fresh, big and great for sharing. The place is hopping and the noise level is HIGH so very hard to have a conversation. But I guess, for some, that is part of the charm. If the food were better the noise level would not have been so glaring. I don't think we will be hurrying back to LF's.

I was looking for a solid dinner venue in the area to bring a large visiting from out of town. It had been several years since I'd eaten here and was hoping the food still held up. We were not disappointed... the crust was crispy, the toppings fresh and the ambiance lively and inviting. The restaurant was also extremely accommodating with the luggage my friends had in tow. We had a great meal and a great evening!

We went to celebrate my best friends wedding. We wanted a low key and leisurely lunch but left very dissapointed. It started at the door without a greeting because nobody was in the entrance area. We waited for quite a while until a server escorted us to a table. He turned out to be our server for the afternoon and things just went downhill from there. He was not attentive. Saying it like that is a bit of an understatement. His service was sub par. We constantly had to flag him down for anything. It took a long time to take our order and deliver food and the check. The sad part was there were only two other tables at that time. We will not be back. The food was unremarkable. Standard... Nothing worth a subway ride for.

Hand made pasta. great cheese. yummy food, reasonable prices. great service, great wine selection. Just right. Reserve a spot if for weekends. Its always busy. First time at lil frankies and enjoyed it. Brought my parents from california because there is a lack of good italian/wood fired places especially in southern california. had the special butternut squash ravioli which was just ok (filling was gelatinous instead of a smooth liquid squash filling) but the pizza and frankies house salad did no disappoint.

Frankie's has a wood-burning oven that they put to great use: pizzas, sure, but also calzones, bruschetta, and the wonderful roast eggplant that others have mentioned. They also have a small number of pasta dishes and specials that looked great. Add a thoughtful, substantial wine list and the makings of a fulfilling night. What moved the needle from 4 to 5 stars for us was the authenticity of the place - it's a real neighborhood joint. Local folks, not just tourists.

We had a group of 11 people and thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Lil Frankies. The food was great -- the waitress was excellent, the host had us waiting outside for 20 minutes beyond our reservation time, forgetting to alert us that the table was ready. That part wasn't so great, but everything else was. Have been here before and will definitely be back. YUM!

Had a 7:15 reservation on a Thursdays. Was not busy at all. Hostess was not at front of restaurant, when we asked a server where she was they replied she was "sitting somewhere" and acted like I was bothering them. When she finally came to the front she was pretty rude and sat us at the closest table for two when the restaurant was empty. Pizza was sub-par compared to what ive had there before but the burrata was amazing. They could barely fit the pizza on our table with our beers, very unclear. Waitress and server were alright.

This was a third experience dining here. We enjoyed the food the first time but this time the food was ok and the overall experience was shocking. The tables are definitely way too close together but even worse we were seated next to an extremely large table of loud and drunk patrons. The restaurant should prepare for the worst with groups of that size and seat them appropriately. They could have had a section to themselves but instead there were many tables set alongside within drink spillage distance! The restaurant was packed and moving table was a limited option. Whilst we were not charged for our drinks, it didn't help the outcome. We took friends visiting from Australia and came away embarrassed. Not a good outcome! We won't be back!

Our party of 5 was seated at a table that, honestly, could barely seat 4. The person stuck on the end was invaded by the crowd at the back bar. Elbows and butts in the head and back; truly irritating. The food was above average, but reminiscent of generic Italian food, nothing special. Nice to have $25 pitchers of drinkable beer. We did have an outstanding waiter.

Total cluster waiting in a queue that went out the door for our table. We were not the only Open Table diners. Place is tight space to begin with, then add a disorganized line blocking the entrance to it. We were seated but not w/o waiting longer than expected and dealing with an overly crowded front of the house.

I felt like I was in my grandmother's home. The portions were generous; food delicious; and carbs abundant. I recommend the baked meatball and eggs dish for brunch. Great 3-for-1 drinks deal for Saturday brunch. Service left something to be desired. They were friendly but it seemed like we'd been forgotten several times. Still, the amount and quality of the food for the price made it worth it. Also, the setting and home-style decor. I will be back.

Our waitress, Marcella, was really sweet and attentive. She even stood on a chair to take a picture of our group! She gets five stars just for that! The lower service rating is for the front bar and the hostess; my group and I were ignored when we walked in and again when we were brusquely directed to the bar to wait for the rest of our party. I felt like I was annoying the bartenders by asking them to bartend! (The place was nearly dead empty, even in the back rooms, so it couldn't be attributed the distraction of other customers.) It was a bit off-putting, especially because we were there to celebrate a birthday. But the food is SO GOOD. Don't go starving because it takes quite a while, but it's worth the wait!

My wife and our friends were in NYC for a week and heard that Lil' Frankie's was a "must-visit" spot. We booked a table for 4 through OpenTable (yeah, I know this is an OpenTable review, but just thought I'd emphasize how we reserved the table), and arrived about 10 minutes late. It wasn't a problem at all, and we were seated immediately. The table space wasn't huge, we also didn't go there to stretch out (well, perhaps our bellies). We ordered a variety of foods (pasta and pizza). From what was left (or not left), I can say we all enjoyed our selections (sorry I can't recall what all was had). We left there feeling very satisfied, and I would definitely go back again to try out their pasta dishes.
