  • "Another great evening at the Lift... first time on the new roof patio overlooking Cole Harbour. A warm night, beautiful sunset and an amazing staff...............our quests were wowed Try the Sangria and the short rib !"

  • "Overall, I would recommend this restaurant despite the tablet-style menu and the spicy trout we unfortunately ordered. The sea bass was very good as were the salads. The creme brulees were great and the wine list was extensive so our dinner was generally agreeable."

  • "Not a bad restaurant but the noise level was so loud and annoying it ruined the whole lunch. Even the lady I was with commented on how annoying it was. I asked the waitress to turn it down just a bit but if she did it was non-perceptible. It ruined the whole lunch. I get that they play music to make it sound like a busy place but they might get more people there and actually make it a busy place if it wasn't so noisy."

  • "Finest food, great service, with a million dollar view. Imagine peak of summer in Vancouver, your literally water side, single rowers slicing through the glass like water, sail boats, and the ever present north shore mountains framing the skyline. a better setting is not possible. Young waiter from Ireland provided great service, food was exquisite, the freshest."

  • "Went for lunch the first time and had a delicious salad and a glass of wine. This time we went for dinner and found comparable prices to something like Hawksworth but food equivalent to the average chain. The burrata to start was so tiny compared to the heaps of unripe tomatoes it was served with. The mains - shared a salad overwhelmed with Dijon in a balsamic topping bland greens, and a decent-but-not-worth-thirty-dollars mushroom ravioli. The ravioli came with a huge plate of assorted veggies but there was no theme, just a bunch of stuff on a plate. To boot, the service was slow and inattentive."

  • "Lift offers a superb and unique setting on Coal Harbour with many tables outside over the water. You pay for this however with an over priced menu. Not to say that the food is poor, but the entres do not live up to the $30 price tag. The menu is heavily weighted towards seafood, which is entirely appropriate to the setting. My choice was the trout whose delicate taste was unfortunately smothered by a covering of spicy vegetables. The wine list features far too many BC wines and not enough wines from the quality wine regions of the world for my taste."

  • "Our server never came over to ask us if we wanted sparkling water or plain water. Two pairs of people sat at the bar behind us after we were seated and our waitress took their drink orders twice before I asked for her to come over. When she was taking our order she never told us about the feature and she was very unpleasant. We would have to wait 5-10 minutes anytime we needed to get her attention. She was more pleasant to then other tables she was serving. If you're coming for service, don't."

  • "Food was just OK, not really acceptable in this era in this city TBH. You will definitely get a better meal, service and presentation at any Cactus Club, and for less money. But the building is beautiful and the vibe is great."

  • "The char was just perfect, new server was on top of everything. Had a great evening."

  • "My husband and I went to Lift because we wanted to eat outside, in Coal Harbour. Lift does that very well, amazing setting. But this place needs updating and a bit of elbow grease to clean it up. The food was good, no question but the whole place is pretty down market and needs a face life. The music was terrible, I think I even heard some Rod Stewart in the mix! Disappointing food and a bit run down but the view was amazing. I will have a hard recommending it."

  • "This restaurant is fantastic! We enjoy the food, service, ambiance & location. One of the nicest places to dine in Vancouver. Fabulous Sushi!"

  • "Wonderful view and energetic vibe. Good Service and great food. Romantic setting. Great for brunch, lunch, drinks and dinner. Various menus to choose from depending on where you're sitting in the restaurant."

  • "I really enjoyed the atmosphere the Lift provided for me and my date. The beautiful patio and food set the tone just right, and the weather was perfect for an evening walk. Thank you!"

  • "Title says it all, this place has an amazing view from the rooftop patio!"

  • "Amazing food service location you can't go wrong with this venue for gastronomic delights."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "The Lift has a creative menu and is certainly a step above any other restaurants in Coal Harbour. It also has a wonderful outlook on the inner harbour. It is towards the expensive range but well worth it."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "We enjoyed a nice quiet evening at a table right by the water and the hostess was kind enough to open the windows for us a little bit though it was rainy. The Sushi appetizer was delicious and so were our dinner selections and the red wine. This evening experience uplifted our view of LIFT where we had previously been disappointed. Waiting services could still be improved..."

  • "Nothing got taken off our bill after getting a beer spilled on our whole table and my leg and foot... But other than that, great."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "Sadly there is an ongoing lacklustre greeting at the Front Desk, (can't they at least seem enthusiastic about their guests arrival?) But the service staff are always a treat - pleasant, personable and efficient. The food is not bad. Seems better these last few times we have visited here. But best yet is that the where ever one sits the view is pretty hard to beat. And on top of that their is Complimentary Valet service during brunch/lunch."

  • "Sunday brunch at Lift was a mistake, rather than their usual often enjoyable seafood fare, the menu offered only a variety of eggs Benedict and salads, all of which were, at the table, perfunctory and uninspired, three "Bennys" with a dollop each of hash browns, with ketchup only, can you believe it, to the side, and a Cobb salad wherein the chicken among the greens was too dry, the service was, accordingly, indifferent, though the view of Burrard Inlet and the mountains remained, as ever, breathtaking, a 5 out of 5, not enough, however, to be back anytime soon - Richard"

  • "mountains, water, rowers practicing, the luxury yachts of Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and the adjoining marinas, cormorants diving totalling sheer pleasure. The service was attentive, but not pushy or overbearing and the food did not let the experience down. we'll be back again."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Went to Lift with two colleagues who were just off a long flight. The staff were fast and courteous, the food was very good and quick, and a couple of requests handled cheerfully. I was surprised that they were not full - perhaps the slightly obscure location, though that provided good views. I would definitely return"

  • "The ambience and the service were great, but the food was far from what we expected... We loved the sushi that we order as appetizers but the main dishes (trout and ahi tuna) were really not worth the money we paid for, and not tasty at all. The desserts were good, though."

  • "We've enjoyed Lift for dinner, but we decided to try it for a Father's Day brunch. We're so glad we did! With the showery weather, we didn't get to sit outside, but we did enjoy the wonderful views from inside. Brunch was fantastic. My wife enjoyed the daily omelette, while the Short Rib hash with perfectly poached eggs, hash browns, and those onion rings has to be one of the most decadent and memorable brunch dishes I've ever had. We will absolutely return for brunch again, and look forward to dinner there in the future as well."

  • "One of my all time favorite dining experiences! Everything was terrific."

  • "We were lucky enough to have a seat on the amazing patio. The views were awesome. It is a very romantic setting and the service and food is very good. I would definitely return if in Van cover again."

  • "The location of the restaurant is very nice, you have a great view while dining. The food is also very nice, we were only unable to eat a whole menu as it appears that the kitchen closes on 10PM, which wasn't informed while making a reservation for dining for 2 at 10PM."

  • "Went for Father's day brunch and had a lovely time, food was great as was the service."

  • "Vegetarian eggs benny were wonderful! I didn't miss the back bacon at all and the texture of the crispy polenta it's served on was a great change from English muffin. Hollandaise sauce was perfect. If you eat this meal you won't need to eat for the next 6 hours (it was huge). Others had the egg/bacon/sausage/skillet potato meal and didn't hear any complaints. We sat in the corner so had very nice views of the harbour despite the rain."

  • "I found The Lift some years ago. Can be hard to find unless you know the area or use Satnav but worth it - a real gem looking like a fancy houseboat parked off the Coal Harbour/Stanley Park seawall. Floor to ceiling window doors (open in the summer for that full on outdoor experience) showcase Stanley Park and inner harbour boats across the small bay. If you like the ocean and boats by a big green nature park you're in for a treat. Outdoor side and roof decks (the roof deck is currently under renovation tho' but should be done for this summer!), it has a great menu for brunch, lunch and dinners, great wine/drink choices and even offers up a great evening bar scene with abundant decor and ambience to spare!"

  • "With all the choices Vancouver has to offer, we keep coming back to Lift. What's not to like? A gem of a setting, beautiful views and fantastic food. Normally, we dine outside, but on this rainy night we experienced inside on the lower floor and still had an amazing view. We had Trout and Sturgeon. Both were excellent. Pricey? Yes. But we keep coming back.."

  • "Lift is in the beautiful coal harbour overlooking stanley park and the boats so its the perfect place for a romantic dinner or brunch. The outdoor patio has the most amazing view. We went for brunch and the mussels was very meaty and short rib has was great. Also the smoke salmon omelette was good too. Overall the experience was wonderful for me."

  • "This has been one of our favorite restaurant in Vancouver. This time it did not disappoint us neither. However this was our first time to try its dine out 3 course meal. They are all delicious."

  • "My boyfriend and I went here for our 3 year anniversary date and we had an amazing experience. I definitely recommend sitting outside especially when it's nice and sunny- the view is just beautiful! The food was delicious and the service was on par. This was our first time here, and our expectations were high being that this is a special occasion but everything was great - this is a great location for any fancier occasion. Would definitely recommend to my friends."

  • "What a wonderful venue. The ambience is great, the view fantastic, had to wait a wee bit for our food but the staff was very apologetic and we gave them some slack as this was the first weekend the second floor had been open. Highly recommend being upstairs."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "I found the food to be expensive and okay, but not amazing, for the price. The service felt obtrusive and they were constantly interrupting our conversations. The view was beautiful. I wouldn't go back for dinner, but would go for a drink at the outside bar. Can't beat the ocean-side location."
    Dined on 6/5/2014
  • "Extremely poor service, waiter forgot our orders, couldn't remember specials, wait staff only inclined to ask if we wanted more water compared to clearing plates. 42 minutes dirty appetizer plates remained on table while mains being eaten and to be fair, couldn't tell much of a difference in appetizers compared to portion size of mains. Would have been cheaper for same view and more significant food to go to Cactus Club or Tap and Barrell on water."

  • "Amazing sushi! The view from the patio is unreal. Lunch is very reasonably priced. Great wine. An all around fantastic restaurant."
