Expected a more casual family-like restaurant atmosphere. Food wasn't bad but selection wasn't what I expected. I guess I was expecting more southern Italian food. I was glad I went but probably won't go back again. Needed some more mid priced wines. House red was terrible.

The burrata appetizer was excellent, served with greens cooked to a soft texture that perfectly complemented it. The gnocchi with duck ragu was delicious. The 3 pastas was a mixed bag. The one with pesto was boring. Caeser salad was boring too. The waitress had attitude -- I'm superior since I work here and know more than you do -- bizarre when you've eaten in many fine restaurants and assume you will be treated with courtesy and respect. Plus, she seemed insulted that we didn't want dessert and never looked our way after we had finished eating, so we had to ask a server for our check. The serving staff on the other hand were great. I wish I didn't have to give this criticism, because I am a fan of Lidia's TV program.

Took our parents there for their 46th anniversary and we were disappointed in the food. The calamari appetizer was chewy which was overcooked. Our arugula salads were nothing special. It was just ok overall. After spending close to $200 on a meal, we wanted to walk out raving about the meal.

My wife and I visited Lidia's for our anniversary last night. As fans of Lidia from PBS we were eager to try the restaurant. I had the pasta sampler was very good, featuring 3 unique fresh pastas, in unlimited quantity. Wife had a specialty wild boar ravioli, which was incredible. Desserts were good. Pricing was moderate. I would dine again, a good place.

We were in Pittsburgh for the weekend and have watched Lidia many times on PBS so we decided to try her restaurant. Simply outstanding! We all had the signature Pasta Trio and it was delisioso! Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce; Penne Carbonara with artichokes and roasted squash; Pear and Three Cheese Ravioli. The accompanying Caesar salad was the best we have ever had and the desserts were to die for! Pumpkin Cannoli, a fabulous Tiramisu and an apple pastry with fruit and crème fraiche ice cream. the staff were so very professional and friendly. Amazing decor...loved those glass globe chandeliers! We only wished we lived closer to Pittsburgh so we could visit more often. Overall a lovely dining experience!

We enjoyed the experience at Lydia'. The staff (our server has been at the resturant since it opened 13 years ago) was outstanding. The ambiance was different then I expected ( this was our first time in one of Lydia's resturants) The decore was beautiful, the lighting too bright and noise level high. This was a great large crowd family style resturant, not for a romantic small group setting. The food was very good. The signature dish of three pasta offerings was wonderful. The desserts outstanding. My family really enjoyed the evening and the food. We will come back with larger group and have some good food and fun.

Lidias has a nice atmosphere and very good service (maybe a bit to good kinda felt rushed) but the food was very average. Nothing special. Pasta trio was just ok nothing to make me come back. braised short rib was again, just ok. not bad but nothing special. Glad we went though because I always wanted to try Lidia's restaurants but I probably won't go back. Disappointed because I really wanted to like it.

This was very good basic Italian food. Appetizer was very nice and entrees were also done nicely. My wife had the 3 pasta special while I had the osso bucco. My wife suggests that you make the cheese ravioli with pear a stand alone entrée rather than a part of the 3 pasta special. She thought that particular ravioli was outstanding! The wine was very drinkable and the almond ice cream for dessert was excellent. Table service was friendly and attentive.

This wasn't our first time at Lidia's and will not be our last. Recently the menu's been changed to add some items and take off others. When we arrived this time we saw that again, our favorite appetizer - the fried calamari with vegetables - was still off the menu. While there are other great appetizers, we have always loved this one so we asked our server about it. She immediately went into the kitchen and returned stating that the kitchen would make it for us! Now that is what I call special service! The food - what can I say. It is Lidia's and a certain standard of food is expected and always received. From Franco down to the server's assistant - we were treated like royalty! Yes, don't miss out on this dining experience.

It was my boyfriend's birthday and had mentioned wanting to go to Lidia's. We'd heard good things about it, and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately at our reserved time. Everyone who waited on us - from the bus boy to the waiter - was extremely professional and personable. The food was absolutely incredible. The best thing was that, unlike so many restaurants, we did not at all feel like we were being rushed through our meal. The waiter was attentive but not hovering or bothersome, and we enjoyed a lovely, leisurely, romantic dinner together. We are looking forward to going back again.

Our dinner at Lidia's combined epicurean fine dining with a cozy ambiance. The waitstaff is attentive without being disruptive, always ready if something is needed. Our waitress was charming, knowledgeable and ready to laugh with us. My husband loved the sarme and their salsicce (house made sausage with gnocchi & roasted brussel sprouts) was fabulous. One word of advice - bring your appetites - the portions are abundant!

We live in Ohio and make a couple of Pittsburgh trips a year and never leave out a visit to Lidia's. We visited Lidia's for brunch on Sunday 9/28/2014. We love the brunch because of the variety of selection and Antipasti table. Lidia's never disappoints. I am always in a quandary as to what to order since I love everything they offer. This trip I wanted the 3 fresh pasta's however was skeptical on the chicken and sausage ravioli and went with the Pollo alla Limone which was so delicious. The couple at the next table ordered the fresh pasta and I was so sorry I didn't order it. The wait staff was phenomenal. Our waitress even brought me a few of the chicken and sausage raviolis and it tasted even better than I thought it would
