  • "Our Company just completed a very successful Project and we decided to celebrate at Lidia's. We had team members attending from throughout the US and Asia. While the food and ambiance were very nice, the service was suprisingly bad. Our waitress never returned to the table for a second round of drinks, and by the time we recieved our bottle of wine, we had finished dinner. She ruined what should have been a very, very good celebration. I will not return - there are many other choices in Pittsburgh."

  • "We were seated early which gave us an opportunity to start enjoying this brunch even sooner. The antipasti table has good variety and the pasta trio was excellent as usual. Desserts were quite good especially the tiramisu and the olive oil cake. We were very pleased that our request to be seated near the antipasti table was granted since we had a 91 year old guest with us. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!"

  • "The food is very good. The service, however, can be quite slow. It appeared to me that the problem was more the kitchen rather than the wait staff, although they seemed streached a little thin also. It seems that the kitchen cannot keep up with the volume of orders. Eventhough we arrived at 5pm, before the restaurant was full, it took a long time for our appetizers to arrive and then, even longer after that for the main course to arrive. It also took a wile to recieve our check. We only visit Pittsburgh about once a year and always look forward to dining at Lidia's so I hope this was just an off night."

  • "Lidia's provides a similar menu as Becco with more space. I would rate this as a special occasion restaurant. WE really enjoyed our meal and had good service. I don't recall the noise level but my husband and I were able to speak easily. The staff made great suggestions and allowed me to try a wine before I purchased an entire glass."

  • "The food was amazing. Although we were there on a full Friday night, it seemed the waiter paid more attention to his bigger tables than our little party of two. Our waiter was great at first, but as his larger tables filled up, we saw less and less of him. It just took a while to get our food refilled (the pasta trio), and we weren't even sure we would get our dessert, nor our check. Other than that, this restaraunt has its act together and a visible, yet discrete manager running a very orchestrated service. Good work on that!"

  • "We had to ask the server as to the ingredients in the bread spreads whereas I overheard the server at an adjacent table explain the spreads when the bread was placed on the table. This should consistently be made part of the waitress/waiter delivery when the bread is placed on the table. Additionally, I thought the trio pasta second helping was very slow to come to the table after asking for seconds."

  • "I have always enjoyed eating at Lidias. However, our experience on Saturday night was fair at best. We had reservations for a party of 8 at 7:45pm and were not seated until almost 8:30. Service was slow. The pesto on the pasta had no taste at all and looked artificial. Sorbet for desert was half melted when served. I was very disappointed as past meals here have been very good."

  • "My wife and I went to dinner and it was very enjoyable. The service was a little slow but we were there for dinner and were not in a hurry. The salads were large, and very good. The wine list was extensive and the wine by the glass was reasonable. Our dinners were great, she ordered ravioli and I ordered the pasta trio which was all you can eat. They offered my wife all she could eat on the ravioli which was not an option on the menu and was appreciated. There was an accident by our table with some dishes and the wait staff and bus staff were very apologetic more than once which was also appreciated. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend"

  • "Very dissapointed with the food, not authentic as I would have hoped for, My family originally came from Italy including myself and we brought our father here for his 81st Birthday, we traveled from Cleveland and had a party of 11. It was unbearably hot, we had asked to turn up the air or turn down the heat and we sat unconfortable for 2 hrs while we tried to enjoy our dinner. The prices were a bit high for the portions that we received, and selection were not very extensive for an Italian restaurant."

  • "I have only been here for the weekend brunch. You really need a reservation. Their brunch is $28.00 prix fixe and is amazing. I always leave completely full. The way it goes here .... you are seated, given a menu of entrees, you order your entree, as well as, a Mimosa or Bloody Mary then you can eat til your stomach is content at the Antipasto bar. They serve seasonal so you never know what will be offered, but I assure you it will all be amazing. The Antipasto bar does not have many breakfast choices, it is just seasonal fare. Herbed olives, Cesar, soup, cured meats & cheese. My entree' was the Yellow Fin Tuna with Broccoli Rabe and Mango Salsa Verde. It was Amazing!"

  • "We have not been to Lidia's in quite a while; it kind of fell off our radar. We had a very good meal on Saturday. The menu is nice in that there are multiple options for vegetarians and folks who don't eat pork or shellfish. They seem to have changed nothing in all the years they have been open; from the decor to the bread basket to the waitstaff who circulate with unlimited servings of 3 different homemade pastas. If the weather had been nicer, we would have left the car and walked to town. As it was, we did have to pay for parking twice and allow a little extra time for that. All in all, very enjoyable and we would take friends or family. The homemade mushroom ravioli were fabulous!"

  • "I made a reservation at Lidia's for a Girls' Weekend dinner based on favorable reviews. We are all experienced diners and cooks who appreciate a well executed meal. We had high hopes upon entering the restaurant - the food smelled delicious! The dining area was so loud, I had to lean toward the waitress to hear what she was saying. Service was awkward and slow. Two people in our party ordered the pasta trio. While the pasta was good, it took a very long time to be asked what pasta they wanted more of after the initial tasting. Actually getting the second serving took so long that a bus person tried to remove their plates. Sadly, the two of us who shared the fritto misto became ill a few hours after the meal. We will not return."

  • "A little disappointing, upon arrival the Host was on the phone with a personal call. The only salad option was a "Cesar Salad" (according to my Italian husband, there is no such salad in Italy) and when it arrived, it was pathetically yellow and luke warm. It appeared to have been made hours and hours ahead of time, I would never ever serve a wilted, yellowing salad green to my quests at home, I did not expect to see it at Lidia's. I ordered the Trio of pasta and it was exceptionally good and they accommodated me when I asked not to have the shrimp dish included and gave me a vegetarian trio. Bravo for the pasta!"

  • "The menu selection is good, the preparation is good, the service is clumsy and intrusive. Parking is a serious problem. There is ample on-street space right next to the entrance, but they have turned this over to an extortionist who attempts to charge you for "valet parking" even if you self-park. You're forced to park further away if you don't want the valet parking. And guess what? If you leave after 9pm, the valet is gone, so you have to get your car yourself in any case! I don't mind providing valet parking, but extorting money from you WITH THE EXPRESS COLLUSION OF THE RESTAURANT for a completely unnecessary useless service is absurd. I would suggest boycotting Lidia's until they eliminate this extortion scam."

The food was delicious~OUTSTANDING caesar salad; chef's creation pasta trio were all superb; Sarme (Italian stuffed cabbage) was excellent; tiramisu was divine! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and demonstrated appropriate skills for a fine dining establishment! Overall terrific experience. We would highly recommend Lidia's for special occasions or anytime you desire a superb dining experience!"

  • "Excellent customer service from the waitress. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. We had a roasted beet salad and A Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was huge and heavily dressed but not wilted. The beet salad was all beats with goat cheese and frisés on top. If you like beats was a great salad but if you're looking for a lettuce-based option avoid. Our entrées were gnocchi in duck ragu and the pasta trio. The gnocchi was by far one of the best things I've ever tasted. The pasta trio had fettuccine carbonara, rigatoni Bolognese, and a goat cheese ravioli in a brown butter sage sauce. The Bolognese sauce had a very heavy nutmeg flavor to it and was quite sweet. Despite the oddity it still was very delicious."

  • "Lidia's in the Strip District is a must-go for area or visiting diners. Great variety on the menu and an extensive wine list. There was a nice selection of $32 bottles of wine that would suit most tastes. It's hard to find a bottle under $50 anywhere else as nice as this place. The experience was outstanding from start to finish. Great place to go before a show but give yourself some time (1.5 hours) to enjoy and soak it all in."

  • "I was expecting a combination of lunch and breakfast, but it was not that at all. There wasn't a single breakfast item. The first course is an appetizer buffet, they were all cold and not what I was expecting, the lunch entree was delicious, but again not what I had expected. The desserts were all odd, there wasn't anything that I thought was good. I was disappointed."

We had their signature prix fixe pasta dish which came with a great Caesar salad and dessert ($35). You will have much better Italian food at Dish Osteria, Stagioni, or Jospeh Tambelini in Pittsburgh. Skip this one and save your Lidia fix for NYC."

  • "My boyfriend and I made a reservation at Lidia's for a special occasion. We checked in with the hostess and waited less than 5 minutes for our table. The service was phenomenal. My glass was never empty. The menu had many options. I chose Lidia's pasta trio. Totally amazing! The food was hot and flavorful. The desserts were also great. It was a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to a friend!!!"

(I've been in the restaurant and hotel business most of my professional career as a GM & a F&B director)The food tasted great and presentation was perfect however both myself and guest got violently ill directly after dinner. I know that things can happen so I called the GM only to inform and not to ask for anything. Here's the rub I was told 5 days ago after they looked into it they would get back to me. I'm still waiting..."
