Amazing waiter, amazing food, great drinks! Loved the atmosphere. The only complaint I have is with the hostess'. They never made eye contact or said anything while we were standing in front of them waiting to be checked in for a reservation. And they weren't very talkative at all. I just the think the "face" of such a great place should have more personable people working the front lines. Other than that everything was absolutely perfect!

This was our first visit to Liam's. While the overall food was good it was a bit spendy and we struggled with what to order mainly because of the menu options. There was also NO Kids menu. We ordered a steak, scallops and Risotto cakes to split with the three of us and they were all delicious. We also enjoyed the meet and cheese plate.

I tried the "snacks" on happy hour: marinated cheese curds, large olives, and sweet n' spicy chickpeas and all were so good! And at a great price! Then moved on to dinner and had the scallops- perfectly done with a yummy cranberry puree base. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse that had layers of cookie crumbles and the lemon (chevre? I don't remember) cheesecake. This one really took the cake- I'll come back JUST for dessert! :)

Our fifth visit to Liam's. Atmosphere is classy with a comfortable upscale quality. Wine list is good, food is quite good, with a mix of comfort foods (ie., Beecher's mac & cheese) and more sophisticated flavors with a slight mediterranean bent (subtly-flavored poached shrimp salad, lively puttanesca, rich but not fatty leg of lamb, etc.). Service is very good & attentive. Note: there is one server whose face at rest is not pleasant or friendly looking, and in fact, looks like she's judging you. We've had her twice; do not be thrown off by her face! She is in fact very professional & concerned with the quality of your experience. ALSO, avoid on any type of sporting night. The atmosphere is declassed by the giant screens & hollering fans.

Stopped in at Liam's to get a quick meal before heading back to Dupont after a day at the Mall where Liam's is located. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and even more the level of service. Try to get the table by the fireplace for a little more of a romantic twist. Nice way to end the day shopping. Please enjoy.

My husband and I went with 2 other couples. We had a variety of things and all of us were pleased. Several of the men had the lamb shank and they cleaned their plates. The Salmon Cakes were delicious. I had the Penn Cove mussels in the light curry sauce and it was outstanding. The roasted beet salad was a wonderful starter. It is large enough for 2, but it is easy to take home and have the leftovers the next day. I had asked for a quiet place, if possible, as we don't get to see each other often and wanted to be able to visit and hear each other - which is sometimes not possible in a restaurant. They seated us in a perfect place next to a fireplace. We were very pleased with our service.

Owned by the Beecher Cheese family and many of the dishes features their cheeses. Mac n cheese in several variations, a great and very cheesy (in a good way) kale salad. Our table also enjoyed the seared scallops, the wild boar pasta and a delicious plate of mussels. Located in the new building in the University Village Mall, there is plenty of parking in the same building. I would go back

Had dinner at Liam's recently and after a couple of good experiences a year ago, this dining experience was not good. The menu items were mostly unappetizing sounding. The Caeser salad was soaked with dressing and the pasta dish had an out of the can feel. On a bright note, the serive was exceelent and the place looks good. They need to pay better attention to the food and the menu.

I found the menu to be rather confusing. The top of the menu said "food to share" or something to that effect, yet half of the items were not for sharing. I'd suggest getting guidance to determine what to order so you don't over/under order. Kale Caesar was delish! Wine sample when you sat down was a nice touch.

I came in to enjoy some Happy Hour with a friend. The drinks on the HH menu are really great prices and creative drinks. I had the regular-size macaroni and cheese because I wanted to try the different fixin's for the mac. I was not disappointed! The prosciutto and pea mac was amazing! I have since been back for brunch also and had the croque madame- wow. And to top it all off, they serve Caffe Vita coffee! I will definitely be back.

Liam's is a new (as of 2014) restaurant in a shopping center -- University Village -- that has recently been remodeled out of recognition -- completely reshaped, new buildings/parking lots, the works. A group of us went to lunch there and had a good time; the menu is original and rather quirky (e.g. house made potato chips with aioli), and I wish they had had a few more entree-salad selections, but what we did have was tasty and nicely presented. The ambience is attractive and well lighted and has a garden feel from lots of plants.

I got the impression they were understaffed. The server was very nice but just not attentive due to other customers also needing attention. I ordered a beet salad which came (finally) on a very small plate, loaded with arugula. I had to dig all around to find the 3 pieces of beets and the lettuce kept falling off the plate. The price was $15-for basically lettuce. My daughters' soup and sandwich were good-they use Beecher's cheese which is our favorite. They were out of their 2 special items-the special donuts and Monkey Bread. They need to get their act together since it is a great location. There are too many other good restaurants in the U. Village so I will not be going back.

My biz dinner was fair. Food was delicious and delivered very fast after ordering. Server seemed distracted and whereas he was pleasant, didn't volunteer any suggestions or keep us on an evenly paced meal. There was only 2 of us and we spent 3 hours. To be fair, we did have app, entree & dessert. I just would have expected it to move along more. Won't stop us from returning.

My favorite was the fabulous mac and cheese! It was perfect: The absolute best I have ever had! Never before had I tasted baked mac so rich, yet light, with an indescribable blend of cheeses. One cheese had a silky, nutty flavor that made it so very delicious and distinctive. It is a definite winner and stands alone....we did not add shrimp or other items to it. I encourage everyone to try it...you won't be disappointed, I can assure you.

We recently enjoyed dinner on Liam's open-air patio on a warm night. Though the restaurant is in the middle of congested University Village, it is away from parking & screened from the adjacent drive by greenery. Reasonable variety of small & large plates, & each week they offer a taste of a different wine when you are seated. Though the bar can be noisy, tables in the dining areas are far enough apart that conversation is not affected. A favorite this warm summer.

Lamb shank was dry and had to be pulled apart with effort, hamburger left on the plate half-eaten, fresh potato chips good but not memorable, mac 'n cheese w/ ham/peas excellent, broccoli delicious, kale Caesar uninspired, Mojitos expensive and good. Server was fine, but not a real professional. She gave us a taste of Pinot Noir -- $14/glass if you ask for more.

We had a reservation for 8 people. My sister and I arrived first and we're ushered to a table by the hostess with long dark hair. When our husbands arrived after parking the car they were told they had no reservation as were the four other people. Meanwhile my sister and I waited for 20 minutes without being asked if we would like a drink while waiting. Finally I saw (after 25 minutes past our reservation) a member of our party being seated elsewhere. When I asked the Hostess why she did what she did she laughed and said "Oh I hit the seated button when you and your sister arrived! None af us thought that ou experience was humerous. Numerous times the 6 remaining guests of our party asked the Hostess for us and she said no res!

We went to Liams twice in a week, once as first timers for dinner and then again for lunch. The service we received was very good, casual but professional which is what we prefer when dining. Recommend ordering a few dishes per person and sharing whether a group of 2 or 6 diners. Portions seem to be sized with sharing in mind. Kale caesar, prawn pasta, local cheese plate, wagyu short rib...yum. Tomato soup for lunch and turkey burger are awesome. Comes with homemade potato chips which my 66 yr old father didn't care for but rest of us did. Thanks Liams!

The service was first rate with a friendly waiter and a free wine tasting and prompt and courteous attention. The food is mostly locally sourced and fresh. A friend and I went with the gluten-free mac and cheese and the kale salad (sans croutons as I'm allergic to wheat) and the roasted broccolini with red pepper, olive oil, and garlic. It was just the right amount of food for two people for lunch. I'd eat here again any time and I can't wait to bring my fiancé to this restaurant as he's never been. The only downside is the construction around and at U Village and how this makes parking a challenge.

Excellent food, great experience, excellent service. Only complaint, if you can call it that, was that after getting a free sample of some excellent house wine for the night, one member of our party ordered two glasses without knowing the price. At 12.50 a glass it was more expensive than some of our cocktails. Just a 'buyer beware' suggestion.

He came back to tell me he put a hold on it. after I got my food we never saw the waiter until he brought the bill. we reviewed the bill & my on hold food was on my bill. instead of waiting another hour to get the food removed from the bill my friend & I left. we left & my friend realized that she didn't get her CC back we went back & the waiter told us that he gave her the CC back & that it was impossible for them to have it. after 15 min of arguing the manager came over & said she would look in the safe to see if it was turned it in when she came back our waiter magically found it on the floor.
