  • "we placed our order & 1hr later only 1/2 of my lunch arrived. asked the server where my food was he said that he thought he put it in. He came back to tell me he put a hold on it. after I got my food we never saw the waiter until he brought the bill. we reviewed the bill & my on hold food was on my bill. instead of waiting another hour to get the food removed from the bill my friend & I left. we left & my friend realized that she didn't get her CC back we went back & the waiter told us that he gave her the CC back & that it was impossible for them to have it. after 15 min of arguing the manager came over & said she would look in the safe to see if it was turned it in when she came back our waiter magically found it on the floor."

  • "Since I was the once vegetarian in the group, I was the only one not ordering fish or steak. The pasta dish I ordered was unremarkable. Noodles a bit under cooked. Flavors not amazing. The salads we ordered as an appetizer were delicious. If I went again, I would order the Kale Ceasar as my meal."

  • "I dined here for a "girls night out" with two of my friends. We found the menu (and the wait staff's description of the menu) a little confusing. Apparently you can choose to share plates, or you can order individual entrees. It was not easy to discern whether the portion size would better fit a shared plate or individual plate without asking the server about each menu item in detail. In the end, we decided to share the meatball appetizer, the Dungeness crab cobb salad, and the chicken sausage pasta over gemelli. The meatball and the pasta were tasty enough, but the Dungeness crab cobb salad was absolutely delicious. A light, and slightly spicy vinaigrette, vibrant greens and fresh crab! Yummy."

  • "THEE master of cheese and macaroni and cheese. THEE MR. BEECHER's third restaurant recently opened in the new (southern area) of the University Village. This is the restaurant named after his youngest son. All things Pacific NW. MOSTLY from Washington, and specifically Seattle. Out of this world meats and cheeses. Salads. Beer (on draught). Wine. And, for dessert, shopping at one of the best shopping centers ever. Speaking of dessert, though: OH. MY. GOSH. Chocolate/caramel mousse. With Bailey's Irish WHIPPED Cream and shaved chocolate on top. (I'll say it again.) OH. MY GOSH. Enough to share. WANTED MORE. Go! Seriously! Go! All of us enjoyed it. Two may not be back in Seattle again, to enjoy it twice, but TWO OF US DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!"

  • "I invited several people for dinner before a party at Calypso's, and didn't have a definite count. I was nervous because so many restaurants want the full party to arrive before they will seat you. But Liam's sat us as we arrived and said not to worry if one or two of my guests didn't arrive. Due to bad traffic, most of my guests were late, yet the waitress was un-phased. Even though she was extremely busy (the place was packed), she tended to each of my guests as they arrived and still got us out in time for the party. The food was very good, and I want to return to try out the mac & cheese! Great wine list and samples of their featured wine! Excellent!"

  • "I love going to Liam's for brunch on the weekends. Great ambience, good service, and the food has not disappoint me to date. The mac 'n' cheese is simply to die for! The only imperfection would have to be the greeters. Whether you get a happy, friendly greeter who seems to care about you as a customer can be a hit-or-miss; I have seen really nice ones and I have seen ones that are very unpleasant!"

  • "I first visited Liam's on their initial opening for dinner. This time I met former colleagues for lunch to catch up and network. From start to end, Liam's has remained consistent and definitely have hit their stride. The tables in the outdoor atrium, main dining room, and bar area were well occupied during the lunch hour. The service, food and wine quality enhanced our lunch meeting - very attentive and knowledgeable, but not intrusive and overbearing. Everyone left satisfied and I'm glad to have shared this restaurant with them. Probably the only thing that made my dining companions very warm was the overhead heating lamp. This was brought to the attention to three different individuals."

  • "Will not be returning- food portions were the smallest I have seen in YEARS and the prices double what they should have been. $8 for a cup of pudding, $22 for a 6 oz steak with 10 mushrooms! The food tasted GREAT, though. Service was poor- we got refills on our drinks AFTER we were done eating and it was not busy and our server was unenthusiastic (there were other servers that seemed to actually enjoy their job, we just got one who wasn't very good). I predict Liam's will be gone within the year.....there are so many other nearby places in the Village that are so much better."

  • "2 adults, 4 kids under 10 years old, for lunch before UW Graduation. Asked about kids menu and waiter said, "no but we can make all sorts of stuff, cheeseburger, grilled cheese, Mac and cheese". So we ordered and it turned out it was just stuff off the adult menu that he was rattling off to us. No discount, no smaller portion size. The only good thing was that their adult portions are ao small that at least the kids could eat it all and only the adults were left hungery. $125!!! For lunch."

  • "Positives: Wine list and menu featured local and gluten free items. Negatives: Service was poor. The waiter never asked us what we wanted to drink, we had to remind him and he never checked on us after we got the food. This is a good spot to grab lunch while shopping but I would not go out of my way to dine here."

  • "I had a really tasty kale salad and crispy chicken thighs. The portions were generous, and I couldn't finish either, but both so yummy. My hubby loved his pasta puttanesca, but he'd had it before. :) I heard sketchy reports about this restaurant when it first opened, but they seemed to have worked out all the kinks. The night we were there it was beautiful and their floor to ceiling roll up windows were up adding to the experience. We'll be back."

  • "Liam's is a great addition to UVillage! Dining at Liam's was very pleasant. The patio and outdoor area is great for people watching and soaking in the sun on a nice day. The ambience was great...trendy yet casual. All of the dishes we selected were delicious and great for sharing but large enough for an individual entree (just like our waitress mentioned.) There was a good selection of wine and beers on tap. The service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. I would definitely return and highly recommend Liam's."

  • "Splitting your plates at Liam's is encouraged and smart. We tasted several wonderful dishes without walking out so full that we would have had regrets. Service was superb, it's a wonderful place to be on a pleasant evening or lunch -- al fresco dining is fabulous. Our ribeye steak was very flavorful and tender. The purple potato salad has a nice kick to it due to the Fresno chilies. We enjoyed our experience immensely."

We asked for a quieter spot when making the reservation and when arriving, and the room was not full, but they sat two large groups in tables surrounding us. This ruined the experience, despite good service otherwise and good food. "

  • "Came in with my husband and three kids for lunch. Love the space in general, and we are big fans of the food, including all of the owner's restaurants and his food truck. We were offered a high chair which made Liam's seem kid friendly, but the waiter was rude when we simply asked if they had any specific items for our kids. Made me feel uncomfortable even though I mentioned that the last time we were in we were happily offered multiple kid items. We ended up very much enjoying our food - the giant meatball and the always amazing Beecher's Mac n cheese to start. Just wish the service hadn't been so uninviting."

All of the dishes were very flavorful and portions were ample. Even the salads had plenty of personality. While there are a lot of choices Liams is worth a visit. "

  • "Two of our entrees were quite good but short of excellent: salmon on risotto cake w/ blueberry, and braised lamb shank w/ roasted fennel. A shared side of roasted asparagus was excellent. The mac & cheese w/ prawns was disappointing - the prawns were mostly great, but had shell fragments; the mac & cheese itself was salty, grainy, and very single note. The tomato soup w/ cheese toasts had an odd texture, and the roasted meatball appetizer was overwhelmed by sage to the point of inedibility. Our desserts were excellent, as was our wine, but were priced to match the rent, not their quality. The decor is interesting but noisy; it would probably be a great place for drinks on a summer evening - but we are unlikely go back and find out."

  • "We passed Liam's a week before while looking for a fast lunch and decided to try it for dinner before a dance show at the University. The décor is quite modern with a clean and sparse appearance. We sat near the fireplace in a terrace like setting with large openings to the outside. The warm evening made it very inviting. The space had ceiling heaters to ward off any chill. My impression was that the menu changed daily depending on availability. It featured fresh fish as well as an eclectic assortment of meat and vegetarian dishes. The wine list had a variety of by the glass choices. Shared great beet and goat cheese salad. Enjoyed beautifully presented Alaskan Halibut and delicious lamb shank. Great services as well."

Beet salad was quite large, enough to share, while the mixed green salad was about the right size. Entrees (steak, cioppino) were good."

  • "Perhaps there were not enough servers for lunch that day - the restaurant was not crowded but our server was rushed and inattentive. He took our food order then ran off before we could order our drinks. Our table had ordered only three salads for lunch which took over 45 minutes to arrive. Server never came back to explain or reassure us. Instead he rushed past us, serving several later-arriving tables. He had to be flagged down and asked to inquire. Salads came 10 minutes later. When he took our dessert order, he started to rush off and had to be called back to take our tea order. The food was fine - (we just had crab & chicken salads) but unfortunately, I did not leave with a good impression. "

  • "Atmosphere was great, service was pretty good and the Food tasted nice. My problem is my meals was an extremely small portion. I think my wife's salad had more more calories than the halibut dish I ordered. So much so, I had to eat a second meal when I got home. While they didn't have a kids menu, they had good choices for children."

  • "We gave Liam's the ultimate test; Mother's Day Brunch. The location (near ample parking), comfortable seating, caring service, and unique service touches (fruit platter on a slate platter; veggie hash in a little iron skillet) were perfect The kitchen was stretched (what restaurant isn't that day?) and there were some mix-ups with our orders. Mother-in-law was disappointed to not find the crab dish that was online. However, her prawns-containing salad was a hit and the apple fritters were unique and delicious; we ordered another set for the table. Don't miss these! Other entrees were small but tast. The fruit and cheese platter isn't recommended as it was oddly lacking in cheese and had a skimpy selection of fruit for the price."

  • "Took the family to Liam's for Mother's Day brunch. We had dined here previously on the patio and really enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, not so this Sunday. The restaurant was busy, but not supper crowded (we made reservations, but you could see empty tables). What was so disappointing was the 75 minutes it took to serve waffles, mac and cheese, steak and eggs, and sausage hash. Server apologized multiple times (felt bad for him), but it was pretty much unacceptable. When the food arrived it was well prepared and tasty."
