Lunch was wonderful and service prompt, friendly and attentive. Selections ranged from veggie wrap to salad with chicken to lentil soup and fool mudammas to a chicken dish with rice, hummus and salad. Perfect.

This is a great, small, quiet, family run restaurant and they take obvious pride in their Lebanese cuisine. Lots of appetizers to try, lots of non-meat items if you have a vegetarian in our group. The desserts are fantastic - make room for them. Very close to the College of Charleston if you are visiting your college student. We will be back.

We had a great experience at Leyla. Service is fantastic- they want to make sure that you like everything and answer all of your questions. The food was delicious and very authentic. Our server had great suggestions since this was our first visit. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to branch out and try something different from the typical (but delicious) low country Charleston cuisine.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I will definitely be a repeat customer! This is a family owned restaurant and we immediately felt very welcome. The spicy hummus and the quail eggs appetizer were both fantastic. We split the kabob combination and all of the meat and sides/sauces were flavorful and delicious. Possibly the best part of the meal was the dessert, which was very unique. We ordered the Ashta with a scoop of pistachio ice cream and I was blown away. The serving sizes were very generous and the service was excellent. The staff seemed genuinely interested in making this a positive experience and all of our orders were based on Anthony's recommendations. I will be back again soon!

We had a pleasant dinner at this conveniently located King Street restaurant. Good selection of appetizers and entrees that were well presented and representative of Lebanese cuisine. Lamb and beef dishes were nicely prepared and the rice which the waiter recommended was a standout. Overall we found this a good alternative to the low country fare and a change of pace.

If you are going to spend 18-25 dollars on dinner in Charleston, there are much better restaurants to do so in. The food was okay (all three of us ordered different entrees, and we all rated the food fair), but not worth the price. Nice waitstaff though.

There is nothing very special about the restaurants ambiance. The service was decent. My food was dry and flavorless and the 4 other people in my party were not impressed with their food either. The menu is overwhelmingly big and I felt it was very overpriced for what you got. They were having some issues with their AC. I wish they would've just come forward and told us about it to start with instead of wondering why was 90° in there.

We enjoyed a late lunch here this past weekend. Each of us (party of 4) had a kabob - 2 meat and 2 chicken, served with their delicious sauces (garlic paste and tahini) and then enjoyed their specialty dessert with their homemade ice cream. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

Went here on a first date, which turned out to be a great idea because neither of us had ever tried Lebanese food and it was fun to try all the dishes that were foreign to us. Service was great - you can tell when servers take genuine pride in the food being served. Perhaps I mis-read the menu, I thought I was ordering a $50 "dinner for two". It was actually $50 each. But I'm not complaining because we definitely got our money's worth - they served us an absolutely enormous amount of food, and I think we tried every Lebanese dish in existence. I will be eating leftovers for days. Nearly every dish was great. The standout favorites were the chicken kebab, tabulli, and beef kibbeh.

My wife and I went here because we saw the good recommendations on TripAdvisor and we are big fans of Middle Eastern food. We each got the vegetarian dinner platter with Lebanese beer (drink it with the lemon juice). My wife thought it was the best Baba Ghanoush she ever had, and I loved the various salads that were part of the platter. The wait staff were remarkably attentive, and the owners came over several times to check on us during the meal. Would highly recommend Leyla if you are in the Charleston area and looking for something that is not traditional Southern cuisine.

This was a first time try at this restaurant for my wife and I. We ordered some Hummus with Pita Bread and the bread was stale. However, it was exchanged for a fresh batch so at least they made good on it. The half Salad was good. The Lamb Kebabs we had were very good, meat being quite tender which can sometimes be a problem with this meat. The atmosphere was very reasonable, not too loud and we could have a reasonable conversation without any difficulties. The dessert was very good. The waiter was very attentive and timely without any long waiting. Most defiantly a return to place.

My Daughter and I shared two of the appetizers and the combo entree. The portions were ample and delightfully seasoned. The olive oil gave the hummus a delightful sparkle. Stuffed grape leaves were terrific. The chicken, lamb, and beef kabobs were tender, perfectly cooked and delightfully seasoned. We had a dessert. All I can say - it was sinfully good. The service was prompt, appropriately attentive, and the best part - Happy. The location on King Street is really handy for downtown meals.
