Diner Reviews
  • "had a couple of appetizers which hit the spot. Not hungry for a full meal"

  • "Lexx has a great selection of delicious food. I have been in the restaurant for several times and I always like the food and the service.Price is reasonable. I highly recommend it."

  • "We were six for dinner. Seated at a round table helped somewhat, but the noise level made it almost impossible to carry on a conversation. The restaurant is very small and crowded. Our waitress was friendly and tried to make it a good experience. The pork osso bucco was melt-in-your mouth amazing! The salmon was perfect. Our salads were fresh and delicious. However, two guests ordered the Moroccan Stew, which they proclaimed "inedible", too spicy and mushy. Dessert crème brulee and profiteroles were exceptionally good. Two will not return. The others will definitely be back."

  • "Lexx is a good neigborhood restaurant with above-average food. The prices are a bit high for some of the entrees, but the menu offers a good range of choices. I like that you can now add a protein to any of the salads for a full meal. I had the special, which was cod with crispy kale and lentils. It was a very generous portion of fish cooked nicely with an understated sauce. The side dishes really sole me on it. My friend had the squash-stuffed ravioli, which she enjoyed. Our only complaint was that the wine servings are far from generous."

  • "I ordered the pork osso bucco. The pork slid right off the bone. The taste was magnificent. Paired it with a glass of Malbec . Really wonderful for a cold evening. Can't wait to go again."

  • "I had read some previous review so was somewhat leery about the restaurant but decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. We had a very nice waiter who was very patient as my friend and I were catching up on life events and not looking at the menu. Once we did look at the menu we were surprised at the variety of options. My friend had the short ribs which looked very good and he said they tasted delicious. I had the paella which was fresh and very flavorful. So all in all a good experience."

  • "I have eaten both lunch and dinner at Lexx, several times each over the past year. I am consistently disappointed with their dinner food (could be good, but was "just OK") whereas their lunches are always very good. Not sure why the difference."

  • "Good food. Convenient for locals. Prices moderately high for food qualilty."

  • "it's a neighborhood staple, and they have a few dishes that they do really well, like osso bucco. But generally, for the ambience, this place feels a bit overpriced. With starters 8-12$ and entrees $23-30, it should feel a little more polished than it does."

  • "The entrée I ordered was bland and almost without taste. It was a Moroccan (something) that was a vegetable dish that needed something to bring out that which was not there. A big disappointment,"

  • "My wife and I very much enjoy Lexx. I like the jambalaya with a glass of malbec. Very good!"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The service was great but the food was just so flavorless. We had the tuna tacos/chicken and waffles appetizer followed by the NY strip & short ribs entrees. Everything needed salt & pepper & we rarely reach for salt/pepper shakers. Will not return in the future."

  • "Good Food, nice atmosphere. Would be cool if the restaurant and bar were more segregated so they could really be a bar scene, but great to go for a high top with some friends, a bite to eat, and grab a drink or two."

  • "This is a good restaurant with a nice menu, but the price is very high for what it is."

  • "Dinner was was nice at Lexx. Everything we ordered was very good from the tempura green beans to the Paella - all of the portions were perfect sized - not too small - and very tasty. I would definitely go back and try other options. The service is a bit awkward - the waiter gave us dessert and then handed us the check.. Like they were trying to turn the table but there was no one waiting. Other than that , it was cozy and delicious."

  • "Interesting menu options....not your average Joe's. I have dined here a few times now and have always been pleased with the food. The last meal I had was the Lexx burger, as did my friend, and they were both cooked perfectly (mine medium and hers' medium-well). There were 6 in our party, and I was surprised that gratuity was not included in the bill. I was also please at how reasonable it was. Food, drink and shared desserts for about $45-50/pp incl tip. Worst part was how long everything took....mostly the appearance of the server when we needed her. But I would go back...."

  • "I had the scallops and while they were plenty and fresh, they were a bit bland. My friends had the jumbalaya and the ribs. The jumbalaya portion was large and she said it was delicious, but she didn't finish it or take the left overs home. The rib eater said they were just "ok". The menu was varied and the ambience nice for a good conversation. It was great to see the restaurant full with some people waiting and others at the bar."

  • "Wide selection of food, even for people with food restrictions. Everything we had was delicious. I intend to go back to try more items."

  • "Went to Lexx on a Sunday night. Courteous wait staff though waitress seemed a bit rushed even though few patrons were there. Appetizers were ok but not remarkable. Halibut special left me wishing I had ordered something else. Steak looked better. Pork osso bucco looked good too. Week before husband was there and loved the food. Perhaps Sunday just an off day."

  • "Nice selection of healthy and regular diet foods. Had beet salad and turkey with avocado sandwich - both very good. Good location for business lunch, or meet with friends."

  • "Two of my friends and I ate lunch at Lexx this week. I had been a few times previously with my husband for dinner and we were always happy with our meals so I recommended my friends and I try it for lunch. It was quiet at lunch time and the waitress was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We all ordered salads. My friend and I thought the Ceasar salad dressing lacked a little in flavor. My friend ordered a salad as well and felt as though it was nothing special. My friend ordered the Moroccan stew which was a gluten free item and delicious! I would dine here again but order something other than a salad."

  • "I usually frequent LExx for lunch, which is a wonderful experience, and they have a small area for outdoor dining. Last night, we went for dinner, and it was incredibly relaxing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm, attentive, and professional. Superb!"

  • "Nice menu of old favorites with excellent specials for a change of pace. Excellent food and a comfortable dining experience"

  • "Food was yummy and presented well, service was a little odd in that we had three different servers come to the table throughout the dining experience. Our main waiter was a funny older gentleman who was a little spacey but generally pretty good. I liked that the tables were not on top of eachother so dining was a little more private(nice because it was valentines day). I would come again. Though geared to an older crowd..."

  • "We dined at Lexx following a concert, so it was pretty late at night. We were seated and greeted right away. The service was friendly and quick. One of us ordered Chardonnay which tasted watered-down. The table bread and herb butter was nice. The fig and prosciutto raviolis were amazing, but the other two entrees we ordered - boar bolongese, hamburger - were lacking in flavor and originality. I actually really enjoyed the creamed spinach side-dish that came with the burger. All in all, this place was pretty good but seemed a bit overpriced for what we were given. We dined here for the convenience and, even thoguh we live about 15 minutes away, I cannot see us coming back here by choice."

  • "Good special occasion lunch. Entrees we chose were $11/13. They were both ravioli dishes. Good service, very friendly. No pressure to buy alcohol."

  • "We have visited LEXX several times and this experience was OK. The service was adequate but the waiter seemed distracted, buzzing around in the kitchen and not all that attentive to his tables. He spilled our cocktails which were overfilled and difficult to handle without spilling. I have noticed this at more than one restaurant. The server comes to the table holding the drinks and walking as if on eggs. One solution would be to bring the drink in a small carafe along with the cocktail glass and then pour at the table. Had to ask for bread after our meals arrived. Talapia was fine and portions were plentiful. Steak tips were also fine and the sides of vegetables (asparagus and mushrooms) were very enjoyable."

  • "Great place for a business lunch. Quiet enough to be able to carry on a conversation"

  • "Due to the unexpected absence of a staff member when restaurant opened for lunch we experienced something less than anticipated (e.g., longer wait for service, kitchen, etc.) particularly after many of our friends had passed along rave 5 star reviews on this restaurant. We understand these "speed bumps" do happen no matter how fine an establishment. Once manager/owner was made aware of our dining experience it was evident that he was genuinely concerned with our situation ...and takes a great deal of pride in his restaurant...and more importantly, the well being of his customers. Based upon this, we will be back as the Lexx otherwise appears to be a great establishment - absolutely immaculate, wonderful décor, ambience, location, etc"

  • "We (a party of 3) had a delicious meal at Le xx recently. We have always enjoyed the food there, but Lexx has taken their game to the next level. Even a simple appetizer like 'chips and dip' is a really tasty treat. Their wine list is varied and their pairing suggestions are well selected. Dinners from $18 - $35 - there is something for everyone at Lexx."

  • ". They have a nice bar area and their drinks are reasonable priced. My favorite is the beet or steak tio salads. It is a great place to go for a lite fare and a drink with friends. It is reasonably quiet so you can actually carry on a conversation."

  • "The parking was horrendous. It took me 15 minutes find one, could only find a meter for 30 minutes so they should valet. (I didn't see the public spot in the back on opposite side of street.) Lexx should post a sign or mention this lot at time of reservation call. Service was disjointed. Our party of 6 got food at varying times. Mine although delicious was almost cold. I will try it again as I thought the place cute and now what I know the parking situation will see if the combination of knowing where to park and not coming with 6 people make a difference on food and service."

  • "We initially chose Lexx for its location. We really enjoyed our meal there. The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was just right. Turned out to be a great choice and we will be back."

  • "We had a wonderful time at Lexx for our New Year's Eve Dinner. The food was very good; service very good; and the atmosphere very nice. My only very small quibble is we were a bit rushed through the meal so they could get to the next customers, but it is just a small quibble."

  • "Lexx was a perfect option for our catch-up lunch with old friends. They were able to accommodate our party with three young children by seating us in a secluded back room - both to avoid disrupting other patrons and to give us time and space for the little ones. The food was delicious and the service was great - just the right amount of attention without being pressuring. This was a terrific option for our lunch and I'd definitely go back."

  • "The food quaality was very good as was the service. My wife and I split a crab turnover appetizer. She had a chopped salad with beef tips and I had a small bibb salad and the boar bolognese. The salads were fresh, the meats and sauces were well prepared and tasty. The portions were generous. The drinks from the cocktail menu were imaginative, well prepared and sufficiently strong. It is nice to have yet another good restaurant in the area. We will be back."

  • "Somewhat dissappointing. The food was good, though not so great that I would come back for that alone. It wasn't crowded and they made two of us wait for our third member. The service could have been better. And the wine was $9.50-$12 per glass and the pours were definitely on the small side."

  • "I have been eating a Lexx since it opened. It was a favorite place of my late Mother. I enjoy the creative couplings of food and the fact it is almost all locally sourced. I have never had a bad meal at Lexx and recommend it highly."
