Diner Reviews
  • "The food was terrible. The so-called "music" was annoyingly loud. In short, we will never return to Lexington Social House."

  • "This was our first time at LSH. I googled restaurants near Pantages, and got several venues with reviews. LSH had some evil reviews mixed in but the photos of the food were what I love. We booked online and showed up early, parking next door. We had a fabulous time before the show. The service was awesome, the food was delectable. ONE OF THE FRESHEST CEASAR SALADS I have ever had. We will return. Thank you Lexington Social House."

  • "I loved every single detail in my visit! The staff was beyond friendly, knowledgeable about the food. We got the pantages prix-fixe and it was such an amazing deal! Very affordable and the food you receive is unbelievable! I got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly, my boyfriend really enjoyed his beef, and the desserts were even better if possible. I really enjoyed this restaurant and have been raving about it to my family and friends. Definitely my new go to place if seeing a show!!"

  • "It started at the Lexington Social House. I decided to take myself out for a date. The reviews for LSH looked great and I wanted to eat somewhere close to the Pantages Theater. Table for one never sounded so good. I sat by the open window and got to enjoy a perfect Los Angeles sunset while eating Mushroom Risotto with a side of Garlic Broccoli. The combination of flavors was divine. Very fitting for the atmosphere which was also romantic and soothing. The wait staff carried smiles on their faces and checked on my just enough to meet my needs but not too much to be pushy. I felt amply attended to. An overall friendly experience. I will definitely come here again. Thank you LSH for starting my evening out right."

  • "We came here to have dinner before going to see Book of Mormon. The Prix-Fixe menu is great! 2-courses for under $30 or 3-courses under $40 and it includes valet. You can even leave your car there while you go to the show! The only thing is that the valet stand is confusing as it only says "33Taps" and doesn't mention that the valet is for Lexington Social House as well. But overall, great place to go, especially for a pre-show dinner!"

  • "First, the food, service and ambiance were great! Also, excellent arrangement to facilitate theater patrons with a terrific pre-fix menu and valet parking for dinner and the play!"

  • "this was my fourth dinner experience at LSH and the first that focused on their small plates. the food quality is what i have come to expect - very very good. the grilled pizza was full of great flavors, the fried calamari light and fresh and the grain salad superb. a couple of bullet rye manhattans, out door dining on warm night before walking down to see Neil Young .... wonderful experience!"

  • "The Lexington Social House pays attention to details. They called to confirm my reservation, and called to see how my experience had been. Fantastic decor and ambiance. World's cutest little rolls, and amazing cocktails (try the Shiver Me Ginger). My partner thought her mushroom risotto was "so-so," but I enjoyed my Mac n' cheese, broccoli, and asparagus."

  • "Food was very good and our server was friendly and attentive. We had dinner there before heading to the Pantages theater-- restaurant offers a prix fixe menu for theater goers which includes soup or salad, entree, and dessert. I had the salmon from this selection and my husband had the flat iron steak. Both were very good and the portions were just right."

  • "Lexington Social House is located just around the block from the Pantages Theater on Vine Street. They offered a price fixe dinner, valet parking all for $37 each person. The food and service were good. The ambience elegant. The convenience of eating and parking near the Pantages was very helpful."

  • "We recently ate here before a show at the Pantages. For their pre fixe meal, which they push as the only way to complete your meal under two hours, they offer only very basic roast chicken or vegetarian risotto. Fine for those who want that, but get this, every person at the table must order the same meal! The one lemon tart we shared was good and the restaurant is right next door to the Pantages, but four basic chickens for over $100 later, we left wishing we had opted to walk a bit farther for a better meal. One other thing, they offer valet parking, but when we arrived there was no place to pull in without blocking Vine Street and no attendant to be seen, so ended up paying $20 at the lot next door."

  • "If you would like to dine before seeing a show at the Pantages Theater, here's a great find that's right around the corner, literally. They even have a Prix Fixe Menu, of two or three courses with three choices for each, and a wine pairing to go with each course. It was excellent! Make sure they know you're going to the theater and they will get you out in time. It made our evening!"

  • "Overall, good dining experience. Great for a night out with friends. The bar was happening with a DJ playing house music. Above average service ; our waiter was quite helpful answering questions and making suggestions. The sliders are a must and the jidori chicken was fried perfectly. The only draw back is it takes 20 minutes or more to get your car back from Valet on a Saturday night they park for several of the venues in the area)."

  • "I loved this place... but the service was horrible! They had multiple people serving and the actual customer service just seemed to fall through the cracks in the process. The wait staff had too many tables to manage filling water glasses and taking orders and the other routine things you expect from your waiter."

  • "My girlfriend and I were seated promptly and waited quite some time for our drink order and food order - we thought we were invisible. Subsequently the service was attentive. It was a long wait between the salad and main course. The food was absolutely delicious. My serving of cod was at best half of what I would expect."

  • "Went for a pre-theater dinner on a Sunday night. They only serve a limited (3 entree) menu plus pizzas. We ordered two pizzas and asked if we could get a salad with them even though the only salad offered was on the three course dinner menu, the waiter said we could but it would be $12 for the salad, seriously! Every other appetizer was in the $8-9 range. Had to ask the waiter numerous times for bread, wine, etc. The wine pours were tiny yet the price per glass was quite high. When our pizzas came the order was incorrect so we sent one back and waited and waited, 20 minutes later after the rest of our party had finished eating our pizza finally came. I've eaten at LSH before and had a good experience with their regular menu. Unhappy!"

  • "Had reservations to celebrate our anniversary on a Sunday and were disappointed they didn't have their full menu available. We stayed since we aren't familiar with the area. We had their appetizers since nothing else seemed appealing. Didn't care for their appetizers either. I would come here for drinks only."

  • "Booked a 6pm reservation here for dinner before an 8pm show at the Pantages Theater. We arrived a few minutes late and were promptly seated. Our drink order was taken quickly and served, the dinner order took a bit longer. We waited an hour and 15 minutes before our appetizers arrived, then another half hour till our main courses were delivered. We rushed through eating our food, which was decent, but had no time to even consider a desert. The space was lovely and had a great atmosphere, but I think the restaurant could have staffed better to accommodate the quantity of patrons before the show."

  • "The good...food didn't knock my socks off, but it was tasty enough. It was also a great location for going to the Pantages. The not so good was our waiter, not terrible, but lacked follow through (as in asking if we wanted bread and water and never seeing him for so long, we needed to ask other staff for these basics) and every time we did see him, the wait for anything seemed very long. The place didn't seem all that busy. He then did one of the most annoying things a waiter can do, all but ignore us all evening, then as we're paying the bill, suddenly become attentive and animated. I know we can all have off days at work, but if you're going to ignore us all meal, don't try to up your tip in the last two minutes."

  • "We made an open Table reservation 15 mins before we showed up at 9:45. The restaurant quits food at 10 but because they had no reservations past 9 they closed the kitchen at 930 and sent the hostess home. There were only two other tables eating when we got there and it looked as though they were just waiting for their check. Instead of turning us away they fired up the kitchen and gave us a 5 star meal with 5 star service. It was exactly what we needed after a long day working. As an ex restaurant owner I feel like they did exactly what they should have, but you would be surprised how many people would turn you away in that situation. Huge props to the chef and staff at Lexington Social House."

  • "The greeting by the hostess and the wait staff was superb. Laura, our waitress was helpful, friendly and very efficient. The food, while cooked to perfection, was very bland. I had the mushroom risotto which was creamy, a generous amount of mushrooms and a good portion. My partner had the petite filet mignon and potato gratin which again was perfectly cooked. The concern we both had was the food was very bland, like there had been almost no use of any spices, especially no salt or pepper. While this shouldn't be too big a deal, to go further, no salt and pepper is on any table. Was it so sever to send back or talk to the waitress, no, just a caution for anyone who likes a lot of spice to their food. Very nice overall experience."

  • "Went there for Valentines dinner. The dining room was empty, yet we were seated against the wall with the fire alarm handle right in our face. The starter/appetizer was horrible, I had the scallops, didn't even eat one. The gf and I both had the beef and potatoes option, it was excellent. Dessert came and we chose one of each, the choc molten cake and the coconut one. The choc cake was decadent but the coconut dessert tasted ugly and rubbery, no flavor at all. I had been planning to come to this place for awhile now. I think I will come back but just for the drinks, the patio ambience and lounge atmosphere. Again a so-so experience."

  • "Went Sunday afternoon w/ a group before going to Book of Mormon. My hubby and I were the first to arrive. Hubby felt a bit of a cold coming on & had the best Hot Tottie ever. I really enjoyed Lexington Social House's version of the Moscow Mule. Tasty. A must have for any mule drinker. The place was gorgeous, but pretty empty. By the time we were leaving for the show, a few more people started to file in. We sat outside & had the patio to ourselves. Our waiter was awesome. The manager also came by several times to check on us. So A+ for service. The food was good but not great. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and monkey bread from the Pantages menu. My entrée, the cod, definitely had a fishy taste. But my husband's brisket was solid."

  • "Looked great but turned out to be comical & disappointing. There were about 5 booths and everybody looked like they were seated about the same time as us. There was a long period of inactivity until the appetizers started to come out. The problem was that the servers had idea what table ordered what. They would come out, guess the wrong table and head back to the kitchen. They would try again, guess wrong and head back into the kitchen. Eventually we got our appetizer just a bit on the cool side as they tried to figure out who got what. The piece of fish I got was small and a bit luke warm as it had been passed around a few times until I waved the waiter over when I realized he had our plates and had no idea what table it was for."

  • "My wife and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere, food, great service and convenience before seeing Book of Mormon at the Pantages on saturday night. While we ate early (at 6pm) to make the 8 pm play, the Lexington Social House was clearly a great place for later night dining and/or drinks. The people made the atmosphere even better."

  • "We ate at Lexington Social House on Feb. 15th because it was right around the corner from the Pantages. However, since it was the Valentine Day "holiday" weekend, they only offered a prix fixe menu. Both my husband and I weren't wowed by any of the choices on the prix fixe menu and were very disappointed we couldn't order from their regular menu. All of the courses turned out very mediocre, lacking in flavor. Even the almond tart for dessert had a grainy filling that wasn't very appetizing and my husband said I make better monkey bread than what they had. I don't think we'll be visiting the Lexington again any time soon."

  • "We went here prior to the Theater. Food was good for the price, but I was not overtly impressed with the selections from the Pantageous Pre Fixe menu. The clans were very good, brisket was average, monkey bread was wonderful. My wife had the cauliflower soup which I thought was very bland an the cod which was really good. The wine pairing were excellent which we both enjoyed. We both enjoyed our experience, although next time we will try many of the other recommended places."

  • "Was a little frustrated as we did not get our drinks until we were finished with the appetizers of our Pre-Fixe meal at a very non-busy time. My drink came with "pop rocks" which sounded cool, but the server kind of explained it as a "use them however you like" add on. It didn't seem like something to feature in a drink if you don't really have a plan for how the customer adds the ingredient. Anyway, the food was good. Wine was good. Ambience nice service friendly."

  • "We came last year for my wife's birthday, before going to the Pantages for a show. The food was incredible. The Scottish salmon was perhaps the best piece of fish we had ever tasted.. It was an easy choice for Valentines dinner after reading the email announcement. The filet was as tender and flavorful as my wife could ever have asked for. A new standard for beef perfection."

  • "We went to the Lexington Social House based on Open Table recommendations and its proximity to the Pantages Theater. We were delightfully surprised to find wonderful ambiance, delicious food and great service. The staff was very attentive and didn't rush us. We started with cocktails. The Manhattan was perfection. For dinner, my husband had the short ribs. He's picky about food and raved about them. My perfect portion of salmon was cooked just right, with a light sauce that didn't spoil the delicate flavor. We enjoyed the entertainment taking place in the bar, as it wasn't too loud in the dining room. It was a delightful evening. We will definitely return."

  • "General ambience was comfortable and upscale with moderate prices Food was split on opinions; guest with Risotto not happy An 18 yr old and a 14 yr old enjoyed their roasted chicken and vegetables For me the brisket was tasty but sauce a little thick and a touch too sweet Buns were just ok … a little hard and not tasty Monkey bread dessert was a disappointment Service was very good. Both waiter and busboy very attentive. Water glasses filled continuously Excellent location if you are going to Pantages Theatre I would give it another try if attending theatre"

  • "After checking on possible restaurants for a Sunday night prior to a Pantages Theater performance, the Lexington Social House was suggested. Several positive recommendations about the Lexington on Open Table and all were correct. Sunday evening is one of their quiet evenings, and they serve only a pre-fixed theater dinner. There was enough variety to pick from and an optional wine pairing for a very reasonable price. Lovely large courtyard, not being used while we were there, but in speaking with the manager, we were told it is used for various late evening music events throughout the week. Loved it!!"

  • "This place was great. My friend and I went for dineLA and the food was good. They were very accommodating as well. Even thought it wasn't on the prix fixe menu, they allowed my friend to swap desserts. She had a cocktail and raved about it. The cocktail menu was extensive and creative. All in all, a great meal."

  • "The food was good and I would go there again for the food. Unfortunately, they had a party in the bar area adjacent and it was difficult to hear my date talk. It really ruined dinner. The short ribs were not really from the rib area, using another meat. Good but not as good as real rib meat. The chicken wings ordered as appetizer arrived after the short ribs. The salad was pleasant and the fish cooked well. The wine list, while short, has good coverage but tends to higher than average mark-up. Valet cost too high at $10."

  • "Came here after a matinee show at the Pantages Theatre. Reviews on Open Table were favorable, so thought we would try it. The hostess was very polite, sat us and gave us menus - after about 15 minutes someone came and apologized that we couldn't order off the menu and took it away, and gave us a fixed price menu with limited choices. After perusing their other menu and getting ready to order - this was quite a disappointment. We were not informed of this before being seated, so we decided to leave and find another place. Oh - and we were the ONLY people in the place. We walked by after we had dinner somewhere else and still NO ONE else there. I think they are not really a restaurant so much as a night club for late night music/drinks."
