Although the menu items are not expansive, the quality and taste of the food made up for limited choices. We tried the bocconcini salad, along with both the tuna and Margarita pizza. Thick crust and very traditional Italian, with crisp flavours and not over dressed. The atmosphere was nice and we were able to have conversation during our meal. Overall, it is a nice place and well worthwhile the adventure of trying to find parking.

After hearing good things about Leva was disappointed that the menu had chnged from what is availble online. These things happen so took the servers recommendation. Salad was good, basic, and the dressing added little in flavor. The proscuitto cotto pizza was very tasty and the jalapeno oil provided a nice addition to the flavors.

I went to Leva Cafe with a friend Friday night and was blown away by the food! Everything we had was excellent! We highly recommend the Med Platter to start ;) The atmosphere was soothing and romantic... a great place for foodies. We found it crowded because all the tables were very close together. But, it made sense with how busy it was.

Many of my long time favorites that kept me coming back no longer on the menu, and I would guess less than half the former menu items and maybe even less than that - and the server's explanation: People were complaining of wait times, so this was done in an effort to speed up service! Maybe it will, because there will now be fewer people to serve. I'm not sure I'll be back.

  • Leva Cafe Great Place to Hang Out

Leva has a great atmosphere - wonderful place to meet up with friends. Their gelato is made fresh daily and it is fantastic. Sometimes I will pick up a take-out container of gelato to serve to guests in my home to go with dessert. They have rice crust pizzas, which are great for people who are trying to avoid wheat and gluten. I highly recommend Leva for lunch, dinner or a glass of wine in the evening.

Sorry, but this isn't my "cup of tea" style of restaurant. I don't like staff/baristas? YELLING out orders to the general restaurant. I could have been downtown & heard this guy. Also, I was told I didn't have a ressie & they use OpenTable only after 5:00pm. So how did I make one & subsequently get to write this review. Bizarro world? Food was average at best with no real seasoning nor flavour(very non-offensive & safe)

We are older and I have a hearing aid. We were seated at the back of restaurant. The noise level at the back of the restaurant was very high. However, we asked to sit outside because of the noise and the move outside was done efficiently.

Absolutely in LOVE with this place. I am gluten free and this is the Best gluten free pizza I have tried. The rice crust is thin and crispy and the toppings are always amazing and fresh. The servers also took their time to find out which of the desserts were gluten free which I really appreciated. I have returned many times and they always accommodate even if I have turned up without making a reservation.

Nice little neighbourhood hangout...diverse crowd of locals and university students studying. Charcuterie board was so-so in terms of selection of cheese and meats for the price, but pizza was good. Nice Italian wine list. Great ambiance. Friendly servers. I think this would be a nice spot to hang out on a nice summer evening....patio definitely looks promising!

Leva is in a great location - close to the University, easy to get to by foot, but off the busy road and more quiet for those who appreciate that sort of dinning. Although I did not order food, the food looked good. We were there in December, but the patio looks like it would be really nice in the summer. Will have to return and try it out again.

Our group has a standing monthly Saturday evening outing to a casual, but good restaurant, for a very laid back evening. I reserved for us a Leva Cafe and we were all extremely impressed with the service, the food, the location, the price and the staff. Highly recommend it for an easy night out, especially nice to sit out if the weather is good.

The location is in the Garneau area and you'll need to search around for free parking or pay for it. There is lots of daylight in this place due to the windows surrounding the building. It's shaped a little like a cafeteria with delicious desserts to choose from. You'll probably eat too much so they are good at bringing little boxes to doggy bag your meal. I had the flat pizza with chicken, avocado, and tomatoes. Very fresh and tasty. This would be a great place for a date and I saw lots of couples there.

We thoroughly our first visit to Leva. After reviewing the menu, we spent some time discussing with the server. We started with the Antipasto Platter - simply delicious & very well presented. For our next course we shared a Sausage Pizza. The Pizza was also delicious, very nice crust, tomato sauce, ricotta cheese and home made sausage. For our taste we would liked a spicier sausage. Throughout our meal we really enjoyed a bottle of DaVinci Chianti (also recommended by our server. We will definitely repeat.

A great place to meet for a glass of wine, good nibblies, and conversation. Great focus on local ingredients; a solid menu that focuses on food that's ideal for sharing and that lends itself to gathering with friends. I've been coming here since this restaurant's first incarnation, and I must say that this current iteration hits home on all counts. Lovely casual place to spend an evening over a good meal and wine!
