We were greeted and enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar before our reservation time. Staff was great and bartender was hilarious. Lots of regulars so we knew we were in for a treat. Once seated our waitress was great. I had flowers delivered and there was a very nice roomy table with the flowers already on the table. We were not rushed at all and enjoyed a several course meal and had a wonderful time. We had the sauted mussels, rockfish and veal tenderloin specials. Having a split size French Champagne was perfect for a nice two glass toast. The service could be a bit more attentive but in all fairness, they were very busy for a Monday night. My wife order ahi tuna, I ordered calve's liver. I know we were in for an outstanding meal when the waiter asked each of us how we wanted our entree cooked. We both said rare and indeed it was beautifully cooked to our desires.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best French Food!Les Folies is a local favorite for many of us and we have all been there many time, however, what continues to surprise me is that every time I go, the food is always outstanding....from appetizers - which by the way,their fois gras with apples is amazing - to their dinners not only all of the menu items, but their everyday specials as well. And do not forget to preorder their souffle's...chocolate, raspberry or grand marnier... you cannot lose! My wife and I had dinner at Les Folies earlier this week on a trip to Annapolis. It was so great that we went back for dinner the next evening - - wish we could go again and again and again. The Mother's Day menu provided many choices. Each course our party of 4 had, from appetizer to entree to dessert, was well prepared and the Mother's Day cocktail was a nice feature. Our server made an excellent wine recommendation. Though it was quite busy, the noise level was not at all distracting. I love the food here but I usually get the same thing each time. We always start with the escargot. Next will be the bouillabassie which is so good my wife usually takes the left over broth home and eats it with French bread the next day. We always end with a Grand Manrier soufflé. It's located in a former bank building in an industrial area of Parole. The exterior is completely unassuming. However, the moment you step inside and Alain, the proprietor greets you with "Bonsoir, comment ca va?" and a kiss on both cheeks (provided you are female), you are transported to Paris. The service is attentive and appropriate, the settings unpretentious but stylish, and the food always prepared and presented well. It exceeded our expectations. We thought food selection would be heavy with cream sauces but found many items on the menu which were light, fresh, and flavorful.
We regret staying away for so long with our misconceptions.
This is a definite hot spot for fine dining.

It isn't downtown so parking is ample (and free). The food was fantastic. I had a duck dish which was one of the specials for the evening while my while had the filet. The server had the perfect demeanor and when we asked for her to recommend a wine pairing for our meals she knew immediately what would match.
