We were looking forward to a dinner with friends and could only get a late reservation during the week.We had cocktails at their son"s flat nearby and arrived at the restaurant. Our waitress brought us an amuse bouche (a good omen.)and after perusing the menu,we ordered starters of soup and caramelized endive salad, and grilled octopus and squid, which were beautifully presented. And then we waited and waited..Sadly,our mains, the brined quail and pork cheeks took forever to arrive at our table and although the food was tasty, the long wait put a damper on our evening.Perhaps things got backed up in the kitchen. It was disappointing since we are all foodies, and we had been to the restaurant about two years before and were looking forward to it.

This resataurant though small and unassuming is a taste pallets dream - the flavors that are subltly introduced to all the courses is incredible. There are very few tables - only 5 employess that are a tremendous team and they will knock your socks off with unigue foods and presentation. It is a neighborhood restaurant not near downtown, well worth the cab ride! Designer cocktails mya fancy you as well. Take a peak at the interesteing lighting fixtures adorning the restaurant - designed by a gentleman in Montreal, very interesting indeed. Do not worry about the x-rays of monkeys and gorillas illuminating the walls - there is a good story behind hit, just ask!

This restaurant meets ALL expectations for those who enjoy true quality good food that is well executed and served respectfully in a comfortable setting. We found this comprable to the best of Provence and by far the best we have had in Montreal! From the creative handmade cocktails to exploding flavors in each bite of every dish to the truly attentive and professional service our return is guaranteed. Our only concern is this hidden gem will be so well received it will be so hard to reserve a table

This was our second time at Les Deux Singes and this time we brought friends from out of town. The food was as scrumptious as it was the first time and the hostess/waitress was similarly genuine, friendly and very helpful! I have made it a point of recommending the restaurant to those I know travelling to Montreal and this experience ensured that I will continue to do so! Go. Eat. Enjoy!

When we think fondly of our recent trip to Montreal, one of of very best memories will be the great dinner we had at Les Deux Singhes de Montarvie. From the luscious amuse bouche and inventive cocktails to our sublime appetizers and main courses, we loved our dinner. The small, intimate dining room is lovely and full of character, and reminiscent of a Paris Bistro. Out of the tourist area, it's well worth the 15 minute cab ride from downtown. The owner will call a taxi for your ride home too. Magnifique.

A very enjoyable experience. Food was very original. The menu is very small as is the wine list, but acceptable. I had the tartare de bison, which was delightful but the portion was more main course. My husband had the scallop entrée which was so small, that we actually ordered a second. The veal was delightful. If you are not a duck or meat aficionado, this is not the restaurant for you.

Well worth the effort getting out of tourist area to experience this wonderful dining experience. Very casual atmosphere but inviting and attentive service. Food presentation and taste is outrageous. We wanted to lick our plates. Loved watching the preparation in the open-kitchen. If there was one small discomfort it would be that it can get very warm in the restaurant due to the kitchen being right there. Wear short sleeves.

My husband and I made reservations here for our first visit to Montreal. In August 2014, it was rated as the #2 restaurant in the city (next to Europa). We chose it for its unique atmosphere and menu. Now -- it is # 1! We have dined in top restaurants all over the world. The food here was sublime and gastronomically beyond anything else we have experienced. We dined there on Friday evening, September 12th, celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary (drove up from southern VT). Every food item was "Incroyable" !!!

We read about this extraordinary place online, and despite the rave reviews, Les Deux Singes exceeded our expectations! The ambiance was lovely; cozy, comfortable but stylish. Our waiter was perfect; greeted us warmly, provided a wonderful wine recommendation, called us a cab at the end of the evening. The food is remarkable; sophisticated but clean and delicate; nothing heavy-handed here. We ate at Maison Boulud the following eventing, and compared to Les Deux Singes the food and service were nothing special at all. This is THE PLACE to dine in Montreal!!!

What a great meal ! We went with the reviews on Open table, they were exceeded. Maybe we got the good night or maybe the chef is always on his game and improving. Our waitress was on par with the food friendly, attentive and was part of the wonderful ambiance for the evening. This is a small place with a hip casual vibe that just delivers for the price.

Even for a weekend trip, I would definitely go back to this restaurant

If you love food, you will love this place. Dishes are seasonal and thoughtful. Each course is served with aplomb and attention to detail. Presentation is sublime and when you take your first bite, your mouth and tongue will dance for joy. Service is exemplary and in my view offers the perfect balance between respect for privacy and attention to the needs of the dinner. If you're looking for crisp white tableclothes, snooty waiters and pretentious food, don't come here. If you love dining somehere less formal where the emphasis is on cuisine, then make this your home. In fact I think I'll move from England to Canada just to eat here more often.

Ambience was understated but comfortable and relaxed. Same with the service - it was casual and unpretentious but very helpful. All this means the focus is on the food and they do an absolutely outstanding job. It was well-portioned, incredibly interesting and every-bite delicious. Found maybe that the wine selection takes a bit of a backseat but that's okay, the food is really the thing! Perfect meal in a perfect spot.

Was in Montreal for 4 days. Had several great meals, but this one was the best. Very creative presentation, but not overwrought. All of the flavors blended seamlessly in every dish. The chicken heart mousse and duck leg confit were the favorites. Beautiful, delicious food and a very accommodating and attentive staff. Cocktails were tasty and well-balanced. Truly a gem!

The food was phenomenal. Every bite was perfectly balanced so that each flavor complimented another. Even the dessert, a simple chocolate mousse, was elevated by the addition of graham crackers and cherry preserves. The service was exquisite. At no point were we rushed or neglected. Our silverware was changed out after every course to preserve the flavor of each course. It was by the far our best meal in Montreal.

I introduced some family members to Les Deux Singes the other night and our dining experience was a hit. From inspired cocktails, to a delectable amuse-bouche, mouth watering appetizers and our delicious main courses, the five of us at the table swapped tastes of our dishes so we could share in the joy of what we were eating. Duck ravioli, watermelon salad, scallop ceviche, beet & beef dumplings to start and the the famous pork belly, veal and fish dishes for mains. YUM YUM YUM! Crunchy crust baguette to soak up the sauce, well priced Cote Du Rhones wine, Iles Flottants and Chocolate Mousse for dessert and coffees to end the meal. A feast for the mouth and eyes! Service was warm, attentive and polished. The chefs are true artists!

I read about this restaurant on trip advisor. I was totally impressed by the pictures and reviews so decided to give it a try. By far the coolest vibe and food we tasted in the city. My first time at this restaurant and it was magnificent – the food was absolutely stunning (I had the chicken heart pate and the duck ravioli). The presentation of the complete dish and the details of each ingredient on it, was perfect. The recommended wine was perfect too. I shouldn’t eat the bread (which was excellent) and leave space for desert. I’ll know better next time (can not wait to bring my wife to this place). Service was professional and very friendly. Just a warning: When you make your reservation, make sure to ask for a table (don't sit at the bar).
