  • "I booked the Lemont primarily for the views that people raved about. The views were fabulous, as expected, but what I didn't expect was how great everything else was. My wife and I were greeted by very friendly staff; seated at a wonderful table that looked out over the city of Pittsburgh. The food was fantastic; the service was perfect; and the money we spent was less than I thought I would have to spend. Thanks Lemont! You helped make our 40th anniversary special!"

  • "Went to Pittsburgh for my birthday to tour the stadium and watch a game as I am a Pittsburgh fan. We did not pack for such an elegant restaurant but we're told that we just had to have dinner overlooking the city. We were not made to feel out of place at all. Our waitress was very nice. The music was lovely and ambience was absolutely breathtaking. Would love to go again next time we are in town...I'll remember to pack more appropriately next time. :-)"

  • "The lights from Pittsburgh were amazing. Taking the incline railway up to the restaurant was fun and being up so high on the hill gives you a tremendous view. The food was excellent, the maitre de gave us a personal tour and everyone went above and beyond to see that everything was to our liking. One of our best dining experiences."

  • "This is my forth experience over he years at this landmark of a resturante. I asked for a window seat in advance and they had it ready for us. Our waiter Marco was superb!! Couldn't have been better. Food is great and the view of Pittsburgh is unbeatable."

  • "Our food was fantastic. Service was good. However, we waited an hour to be seated. We had reservations for 7:30 and didn't get seated until about 8:30. That was disappointing. The meal made up for it, though, and so did the traditional elegance of this city gem."

  • "We've been to this restaurant several times and each time has been a wonderful experience. The food is wonderful with a menu that makes it difficult to decide. Each item we've had has been delicious...appropriately sized portions: not too big, not too small...and prepared perfectly. The service is exceptional and the venue beautiful! The dining area is absolutely stunning... the view of the city is spectacular!!! We choose to arrive before sunset so that we can take in the skyline in daylight and stay through the early evening to see the view of the city lights. Wonderful! This is an expensive restaurant but for a special occasion you cannot beat it...it's well worth the extra expense!"

  • "The restaurant is in a beautiful spot, the views are spectacular. The food was very good. However, the wait staff seemed like they were going through the motions and the room we were in needs a major makeover. The whole place seemed like a great restaurant from 30 years ago that has not been updated since."

  • "The entrées were overpriced and not very flavorful. You are paying for the view of Pittsburgh."

  • "Great food and a breath-taking view of Pittsburgh from every table combine to make Le Mont a perfect choice for a first date or an anniversary. The service is excellent and the staff makes you feel special. With parking a concern anywhere in Pittsburgh, the valet service is a great surprise at a reasonable price. This is definitely a "Ten" restaurant."

  • "I haven't been here in over 15 years - it's been re-modeled. What a spectacular restaurant - superb selection of food, excellent service, great wine list, and most of what an unbelievable view looking out over Pittsburgh. Highly recommended restaurant, and it takes a lot for me to say that."

  • "Truth be told, the service was among the best service I have ever experienced. I do fine dining once per week on average, and this service was exceptional. I really couldn't say enough about how PERFECT everyone was.... Except the Valet. Listen, not only a I fine with pay for, but actually ENJOY valet parking. I tip before AND after. What I don't want is my keys handed to me. There is a lady with me, walk the six steps outside, and open the door for her, would you? And as exceptional as the chef was, perhaps we don't have to have the hockey game on loud enough that it's drowning out the music (Which, by the way, was along the likes of The Beatles, and Counting Crows, which shows that Le Mont is truly accommodating to their demographic.)"

  • "I was very apprehensive after reading all the bad reviews. And quite honestly, if it wasn't for the gift certificate I had received for my birthday, I would have chosen another restaurant. But I found the critiques to be unfounded... at least in our case. Dinner for three, around 5:30 pm on Sunday was very nice. Food was excellent, our waiter, Marco, could not have been any nicer. The only word of caution, as you should already know are the very high prices. Not a place I would frequent, but definitely a place to make a good first impression for special occasion or out-of-town guest."

  • "Very nice atmosphere, friendly service, and food was not too fancy which we liked, but was prepared and presented well. Would definitely go back again."

  • "We were seated at a table by the window and enjoyed the incredible view of Pittsburgh at night. The lighting was romantic and the decorations were elegant. The tomato soup was tasty. However, the baked potato seemed like it was frozen and thrown in a microwave then topped with a slice of Kraft cheese and topped off with two small broccoli florets that were probably frozen as well. The filet was wrapped in bacon that was rubbery and quite tough. The steak was cooked as ordered but there was not much flavor except for the strong peppercorn seasoning. There were a few green beans thrown on top along with a tomato that had bread crumbs or something on it. For a fancy restaurant, the taste of the food and presentation fell way short."

  • "Great service and ambiance. Very mediocre tasting food with good presentation. Good wine but I wouldn't expect less for $100 bottle."

  • "We chose the spot because we really wanted the scenic Mount Washington view. It did NOT disappoint. The ambience was beautiful, the view was great, and the service was pleasant. The food was the only thing that was a little below expectations, but for the price, we really can't complain. I had the steak, which was good, but the sides were less than stellar. Again, though, you're paying for the beautiful ambiance and wonderful servers, so overall a very good experience."

  • "the food really isn't as good as the prices might suggest. don't get me wrong, it's fine, but i didn't leave raving about what i had. for the price i'd expect more decadence and not just what i could have made at home. that being said the atmosphere and service were beyond reproach."

  • "A very nice place with a great view. The service was good, the food presentation was excellent . You get a very generous portion size and the meals were tasty. I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "The view you get from inside this restaurant is fantastic. We sat on the upper level in the rear of the restaurant and were able to see every side of the city. The food on the other hand was below average. The soup was average (French onion and crab meat). The Caesar salad seemed to be old and not that fresh. The entrées were very disappointing (rack of lamb and filet). I happened to be on the phone when I received my rack of lamb and when I was finished with my conversation (<5 mins), my meat was ice cold. There was no tenderness at all. There are no sides to choose from, only what they provide (a starch and a vegetable) which were below average. My experience started with a great view but went downhill with every increment."

  • "THE GOOD: Very Beautiful restaurant. The view is exceptional. The wait staff was very good. THE BAD: Over priced meal. I had 6 sauteed shrimp, some vegetables, and a very dry mashed potato for $32. My date had Chicken Romano. Very under seasoned, same veggies, and same dried potato. $28. Not impressed with the meal at all. Very disappointing. The Ugly: The Food was very over priced."

  • "the restaurant itself was amazing, the view incredible. very nice atmosphere and service. however when it comes to food don't expect anything incredible just average, if that. it's a shame too because with great food this restaurant would have gotten five stars across the board but when you're paying fifty dollars for a filet mignon you expect it to be great and it wasn't even close. I could barely chew it and it had no flavor at all. I make better steak at home for much less. when I have to ask for steak sauce you know something is wrong. my fiancee got the duck and made similar comments. the restaurant itself was so good overall we may still return in the future but not as often as we would have and definitely not for the food."

  • "We have dined at the Le Mont many times and we always enjoyed a wonderful experience. The service was above excellent, the quality of the food was devine ! It was always a perfect evening, certainly money well spent ! Until Saturday, February 15, 2014 !!! At best, the service was mediocre. The menu was sadly dissappointing. Seems the menu was revised so as to make it easieron they kitchen staff, well I hope the staff was happy, for my husband and ourfriends were disillusioned with the "Family style" menu we had been given to choose our dinner. It was at best, what you would find at a "Bob Evans Family Resturant" as was the service !!!!! Will not return."

  • "While we dine on Mt Washington on a regular basis, we had not been to Le Mont for almost 30 years so I decided to give it a try. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. And, the ambience was wonderful. My filet was cooked perfectly and was a generous portion while my wife's chicken romano was one of the best she has eaten. I highly recommend Le Mont especially for important occasions."

  • "Everything was great my meal just was bland. For what you pay for I expect more from a place like this and this was my 1st time going so I was disappointed in the food. My wife loved the view. Honestly the bread in the basket was the best part of the meal."

  • "We wanted to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at a romantic restaurant. Lemont did not disappoint. As requested they set up a table for two by the window with a terrific view Our waiters, Scott & Tom, were fabulous and friendly. The food was delicious and a good value - we took advantage of the special winter menu. They were out of the wine that we ordered so they replaced it with a better choice. Overall we had a memorable dining experience on our special day."

  • "My first time at the LeMont was an excellent experience. The staff from valet to the waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the prices were more reasonable than expected. If anything at all, the view was worth the visit!"

  • "The service was amazing as always, as were the views. The food was just ok. Clearly if this restaurant was located in a different location they could never get away with that food. Starch of the day was mashed potatoes that tasted kind of rubbery and reheated. The vegetable were green beans that were like rubber. Really? With a $30 meal? But the place was packed so clearly it isn't keeping people away. I really wish the food was better because it is such a fun night to go there for a special occasion!"
