I have been to Leilani's for a large party of 10 with kids and also for an intimate dinner for 2 and Leilani's is great for both!!! The location in Whaler's Village is ideal with free validated parking for 3 hours. The service is also excellent and the menu is just right for everyone!!! Nothing special, but it is nice5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur last night on MauiAfter our week long stay on Maui, we went to Leilani's on the Beach - Kaanapali for our final dinner on Maui. We arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservation and was seated immediately. We had requested upstairs on the rail to view the sunset, and that is what we got. We ordered to teriyaki steak and coconut prones, both came quickly and were perfectly prepared. Our tea and water glasses never got empty (a pet peeve of ours) even without asking our waiter to keep them full. The sunset was shared with the biggest piece of Hula pie we have ever seen at a restaurant. Never felt like they were in a hurry to get us out even through they were busy that night.
Excellent food. Excellent location. Excellent service. This was so great that we are going bact tonight. The waiter was so nice to us and the food was great. The view from the dinning room and the sunset was over the top. We loved the whole experiance. A little tightly packed on the deck but that's ok.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch like Kimo's in LahainaLeilani's on the Beach - Kaanapali is a J.S. family of restaurants, which apparently means it's very similar (part of J.S. family) as the Kimo's in Lahaina. The menu and decor are almost identical, and the scenic view of the Maui ocean sunsets are likewise very similar. The location of Leilani's is upscale compared to Kimo's (in Lahaina), being located beach-side of Whaler's villiage in the midst of high end shops and resorts of Ka'anapali, Maui. We enjoyed the food and sunset. I called them after making the opentable reservation just to be sure we could change if we needed or wanted to dine downstairs. The 2nd floor has a better view of the ocean and sunset, being unobstructed from sidewalk passerby's and hedge & no change was needed.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat family restaurantAhi was excellent as was as other fresh fish. My husband had the prime rib (maui beef) that was rare, juicy and nicely seasoned. I had the citrus grilled fish which was swordfish that night. UMMM.
Wonderful food, great service - and HULA PIE! Hula pie is a signature dessert with the T Group, vanilla ice cream with chunks of macadamia nuts, MOUNDED into a chocolate crust, served with hot fudge, chopped macs and whipped cream. Two things I would change - the drinks were a bit weak on alcohol yet very expensive, and to obtain parking validation at Whaler's Village you have to wait for a few minutes after your meal for the manager to show up with a sticker. Poki, Sashimi & Chowder, all excellent!! For Dinner my Wife and I shared the Mahi & Tiger Shimp , while my Son had a Fliet. All was good there as well, Mahi was excellent, Filet was really good. Portion size was perfect for us, as I said we shared & it was plenty, but we had appetizers. There was enough room for a Apple Crisp Sunday that was perfect. Also if you like Bread, the bread at the beginning is amazing!! Price point is fine, not overly expensive, I mean its Maui & it was fair.
