While the meal my daughter chose sounded delicious the sole was overcooked and was more reminiscent of baby food. You may think this is a negative review but it is quite the opposite, we brought it to the servers attention, it was promptly removed and an order for a different meal was quickly placed. A new fabulous Shrimp with Garlic was brought out in a timely manner and was thoroughly enjoyed. The server Scott was very friendly and easily accessible. We were met at the door by the most charming man, Tim, and seated immediately. We were delighted that several servers (our special server was Scott) were in our section to meet our needs, and answer the plethora of questions that my "new-be" was firing at them. VERY knowledgeable about the wines and oysters selections. The scallops, sole and swordfish were perfect. To top off our experience, the General Manager, even stopped by our table! We observed that all the managers were circulating thru the dining room and making dining experiences for all the patrons. Coming from restaurant backgrounds ourselves, we are hard to please, but this Park Square location CRUSHED IT!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than Expected!We were very pleasantly surprised that such an old and well regarded restaurant was SO great! The service was better than in most of the finest dining venues. The servers were accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly, and had just teh right sense of helpfulness without ever being intrusive. The managers strolled around making sure all was well at each table, and it was. The menu was excellent - all kinds of seafood prepared in a variety of ways. The food was perfectly prepared, perfectly presented and delicious!! Loved the interesting sides especially the red onion jam. My 87-year-old Dad, who does not often go out to eat, said it was the best clam chowder he has ever had. And the service was absolutely wonderful. The noise level was moderate for dinner-time on a Tuesday evening, though the restaurant seemed quite full. The food ranged from decent to outright excellent: I ordered the market catch of arctic char and preferred my companion's seared tuna; I found the arctic char bland but a few bites tasted 'off' at the edge, I can't explain. The calamari appetizer was delicious. The clam chowder was as good as everyone says. We were seated right away, by the window which was a nice view. Our waiter was very attentive and my husband really enjoyed the oysters he recommended. When I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder he asked if we were going to share it and offered to split it up for us which is a service I have never received anywhere before. The little things always matter. The food of course was delicious, I had the crab stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes and he had the crab stuffed fish and fries. A table was available with a window view and it was a beautiful day. Our server appeared immediately and greeted us and gave his name (very professional). We decided against drinks and put in our appetizer order. Now I expected since this being my first time experiencing Restaurant Week I would get a downsized version of their regular appetizer menu. I was sadly mistaken. I had a cup of clam chowder and my guest had shrimp wontons. Order came out completely as a regular order and we had a hard time finishing it. Our entrees were Crab Cake with Grilled Shrimp and Sea Scallops with a Seaweed Salad. My guest had Three Fish Chef Choice with Spinach. Quickly acknowledged upon arrival by many people who also acknowledged that we were an OpenTable guest. Seated quickly by Gordon, who was the friendliest guy. Our server, LEEYA, has to be the best waitress we have ever had. The Fish entrees were excellent. My wife was particularly in love with the seared encrusted Salmon on Mushroom Ravioli. A nice surprise of a small tasting came from the chef, also as an acknowledgement that we were an OpenTable Guest. It was so appreciated.
