Legal Sea Foods Paramus is a legally fabulous experience! The appetizers are creative, catchy, and delicious. The entrees are hearty and represent the finest catches from the sea in every single bite. The service is amazing! The Hostesses are friendly, patient, and pleasantly accommodating. The Wait Staff is superb and promptly gratifies your desired order and acutely recommends any complementary supplements upon request. Legal Sea Foods Paramus is a must-do dining experience for all seafood lovers!

Been at Legal Seafoods before but not at this location. Everything was wonderful. The manager, the hostess, and he waitress. Was seated immediately at our reservation time, manager was friendly when I approached him, waitress was attentive to our needs. Food was very good. Had the ( a little pricey) 2 1/2 pound steamed Lobster, but it was real good. My wifes scallops which were great. It was wife's birthday and didnt ask for anything, yet waitress brought over a little treat on her own with a candle. Nice Touch. Will be back for sure. !

Our waitress was not engaged at all and would disappear for long periods of time. When she finally arrived to the table to greet us and take our order she did not even offer drinks. We waiting more than 45-minutes for our dinner to arrive. We have dined at this restaurant several times and usually enjoy the experience, however, this evening the service was just unacceptable.

Stopped in for light dinner. The clam chowder is, as always, excellent and the lobster roll and sid dishes were ejoyable. However, the steamers, both large and small, were not flavorful and rubbery. The waitress was quite apologetic but there was really nothing that she could do. We decided that we would try again to see if this was just a fluke.

Legal Seafood in Paramaus has the nicest and friendliest staff around. From Jill the hostess to John the server, everyone is very accomodating. John couldn't have been better. His recommendations were great. He constantly refilled our ice teas and soft drinks without even us asking. The rolls were piping hot, and were also refilled frequently. The fish was very fresh. Clams, scallops, shrimp all had to have been delivered earlier that day and were cooked perfectly. Don't let the fact that this is a chain discourage you from going. A must place for fresh seafood. And they even validate for parking, which can be an issue at the GSP Mall.

This restaurant is always a dependable place to have a really good meal. The room is very pleasant, the service is terrific, and the food is pretty darn good. My cioppino was excellent, although shrimp and calamari were a little over-cooked and tough but not so far as to make it an issue… Lots of pretty well-behaved kids but there are many tables that remain pretty quiet and private.

Hubby, son (who's 2), and I went for dinner--as a treat! We always get oysters for appetizers, and as usual, they were fresh and delicious. I went ahead, as per the waiter's recommendation, with the special, which was a seared seasame tuna with soba noodles--tuna was huge and fresh. My husband got his usual, crab cake (appetizer) and a bowl of lobster bisque, which was good as usual. I do have to say that we think they've shrunk down the crab cake/mini salad (it comes with the crab cake appetizer) portion--we started noticing this at another Legal Seafoods in NJ, as well as the entree I usually get (Signature Crab Cake Combo). Regardless, the food and service there are always wonderful, and they always take special note of our son.

We are "always" happy eating here. Not this time. Our waitress was too pushy promoting their "special wines" from Spain. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water. When we asked for a 2nd bottle, it wasn't sparkling. At 8 pm on a Friday night, they ran out of their special swordfish kabobs. I changed my order to grilled swordfish, that they then ran out of. The waitress didn't remember that i ordered a salad. Tough night

I stumbled across Legal Seafood over a decade ago while traveling on business. Since then, I've eaten at various locations over fifty times. Always good and uniquely New England. Fried clams and the Fisherman's Platter are excellent. Scallops are sweat and juicy. Everything sings fresh. And they have a really nice kids menu.

I was able to follow my low salt diet (more or less) because most of the sauce was under the food, not poured on top of it. The flavors of the spinach, mushroom ravioli, and crusted salmon came through nicely without a lot of adulteration. Will definitely return.

Clam chowder was first, very good, thick and full of clams and potatoes. I had a wedge salad for dinner, not thrilled, it had a vinaigrette on it that did not go well with the blue cheese or bacon, a creamy blue dressing would have been better. My dad had swordfish with spinach and fries, very well enjoyed and cooked just right. The fried oysters were a good appetizer, you have to ask for tartar sauce if you want it here, even for the fried clams, which were also very good and cooked well. Big complain of the night, the crab cakes were TOO spicy, would have been great without the overpowering Old Bay seasoning. You are NOT told on the menu about the spices in the crab cake. ruined one person's meal completely (the birthday girl)
