Went with friends who are also clients while in town for a convention. The highlight was the way our server shelled our whole lobsters. She was amazing. This place will always be a good safe choice for a nice meal with lots of variety in food choice, decent food and good service.

We always return when we are in Boston. This time were were there for three hours and stopped fir lunch. It cost $38 to park and there was no validation fir any of it! The hostess was very unprofessional and did not know what she was doing. The food was fair. Chowder was excellent but we had an oyster po boy on a stale bun and covered with a terrible sauce. Food has gotten very expensive.

Leagal Seafood was recommended to us for our first visit to Boston by several sources, they all hit the mark! Seated outside we had a great view of harbor activity plus pleasant, knowledgable and efficient wait staff. The Rolls they serve with salad were wonderful, our entrees: crab cakes and jasmine shrimp were perfect. The mojitos were one of the best I've had and dessert was their version of Boston Cream pie-very tasty. We would definitely come back to this multi location Boston treat. Personally, I would choose the Long Wharf location for the water ambience.

This packed restaurant is in the heart of the harbor tourist scene, and we were entertaining tourists and needed a place that could accommodate lots of special requests/needs. First and foremost, my husband was diagnosed just a week earlier with celiac disease. The restaurant managed to please nearly everyone - gluten-free rolls (!) and menu, lobsters for the out of town guests, lovely and tasty cioppino for the foodie, great chicken entree for the one who doesn't eat seafood, perfectly cooked dozen (!) scallops. The only exception was that the vegetarian box was way too oily and low on tofu. A salad/app combo would have been better. Visually impaired guest so they without question arranged a window table. And gracious over all.

Having eaten here twice on a four day visit in February 2013, we were hoping to replicate the outstanding experience on this trip. We came very close. We had the steamed lobster and it was top notch. The bananas foster dessert was very good. The bananas are served in a pitcher (hot) to pour over the ice cream a little at a time so you don't end up with bananas foster soup. The warm rolls were good. The caveats: it was so dark at our table I had to use my phone light to read the bill, the server was not as attentive and efficient as we had seen previously, but nothing really bad. The creamed corn with bacon and basil was excellent in taste but the corn was a little tough and included a few tiny bits of cob, but I would try it again.

I dined here with my nut-allergic grandchild. Such consideration for her wellbeing, with every person we encountered assuring us of her safety. Another point, no alcohol ordered, one adult, one kid's meal, no desert, this was not a high ticket dinner, but we were treated with great courtesy. Plus food was delicious as usual. Thank you.

Don't be too quick to easily dismiss this place as just a chain restaurant. The quality and freshness of the food is clearly evident and superior. The steamed lobster is well worth it. The sides are OK, the soba noodles are nothing special and the fries are just regular shoestring fries with no skins, something you wouldn't necessarily expect at a place that will run you over $100 for 2 lobsters with wine. But the really fresh and properly done seafood more than makes up for it.

Situated between the big waterfront hotels, this is not a location I would advise for a nice date-night dinner. The server used a hand-held computer to take the order and when my wife asked to change something as he hadn't even left the table yet, his response was "sorry, it has already been sent to the kitchen" with no thought to ask to make it right--just that it would be a major inconvenience to him. However, if you are on an expense account with a business group, go for it. Eat it up, but I will be spending my own $ elsewhere next time.

We just went to Boston and decided to try this restaurant on a recommendation. My brother-in-law drives a scooter because he lost a leg to diabetes, and the staff seemed taken aback that we had to leave it parked near the table, because the tables were close to each other and there was nowhere to leave it. Our server was very nice and friendly, but she forgot to tell me the restaurant ran out of baked potatoes after my dinner was served. When the server finally came back near our table, I mentioned I was waiting for the potato when she said they ran out and offered me something else instead. At this point, I was already done with my dinner, so I declined,. I loved the Thai calamari, but the rest of the food was average at best.

We chose Legal seafood for its convenient location and after looking at many reviews online. The restaurant was BUSY, it took 2 hours from when we got seated to get our entrees. The wine list was unremarkable, the cocktails we ordered lacked in taste. The appetizers took so much time to arrive we had to asked for another basket of bread (best part of the meal). The main entrees were bland (The lobster and muscles had no taste and there was no butter or sauce on the plate to enhance ( I had to ask for some), the fish was too submersed in sauce to has a recognizable taste, the crab cakes were bland)). Our server was super friendly, but she was too busy talking to other tables, it took her a full hour to take our entire order.

We were in from out of town and so excited to try Legal Seafood, as we had heard good things from friends. The clam chowder was good but the rest of our food was bland and over cooked. My husband who is a human garbage disposal did not even attempt to finish his meal. We skipped dessert due to the disappointing entrees. If/when we return to Boston we will not be heading here again. I also think the food was over priced for the quality they offered.

Our table was ready right at 6 p.m. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was very good as usual with Legal restaurants. Only complaint - A/C was too strong, but they did adjust a bit when we asked. They have coloring items for kids as well as good kids menu and fun plastic cup with straw.

On a trip to Boston, my husband and I decided (against our better judgment) to try this chain restaurant, based assurances that this one was "different." Our better judgment was accurate. The meal started well with nicely sized raw oysters. Downhill from there. I ordered wood-grilled tuna "sashimi" style, thinking it would come out like, well, sashimi. Unfortunately, it was covered in some sort of yucky sauce that interfered with the tuna. Kale was way too busy -- much yogurt sauce and whatever liquid was sitting at the bottom of the bowl. And it was not cut into bite-sized portions, so it was chewy. By husband ordered the Grey Sole, expecting the spinach and onions to be served on the side, not wrapped around the fish.

Disappointed -- took our of town guests there. Seafood was superb, as usual. But the sides were atrocious -- grilled asparagus (at extra cost) were the size of tree trunks -- and tough,. Jasmine rice was not as good as minute rice! Called manager to complain, and told him when choosing asparagus, the rule is to get the thinnest stalks. He had no idea, and said this is company wide practice -- to get the biggest! Somebody doesn't know what they're doing....or doesn't care.

Over multiple visits to Boston, we have eaten at Legal Sea Foods many restaurants. Previous memories were of high quality food, competent service. Our most recent visit to Legal Sea Foods-Long Wharf was nothing short of a waste of time and money. Our Server was either too interested in something else or just incapable of performing his job. He spent just enough time to get our order and then like Casper became a ghost. That might have be OK, except the food was served in rapid succession dinner being served even before our appetizers were finished. Our orders Salmon and Shrimp were warm, dry and tasteless. In all we were in/out in less than 40 minutes and the place was not crowded. I guess the local TV ad's are right, its just a chain.

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had (spanning over many decades including the very best and the not so best in the world). We had 4 visitors over from Europe (all ranging between 22 and 23 years old). When we ordered a nice bottle of wine to go with the dinner, the waitress told us they had to show the kids Belgian government issued ID cards were not enough, and that she needed to see the passport. Everyone who travels internationally knows that you NEVER take your passport with you while sightseeing. Anyhow, after talking to an arrogant manager (who claimed he could go to jail - not sure for what - serving alcohol to seniors and adults of legal age?), we decided to leave and never to return to this place.

While the staff were friendly, the service was very poor. Seems as if they took more reservations than the staff could manage. We had a part of 7 people and it took over two hours to get our dinners. When the food arived, five of seven meals were mildly warm / cold from sitting under a heat lamp. The manager apologized and offered to provide desert at no charge, but at that point the group was tired of being held at the restaraunt and didnt want to wait. No adjustments were made to the bill or offers for comping beverages instead.

This is the second Legal Seafoods restaurant we have visited and I had great expectations. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had crab cakes and my husband had the wood grilled fish trio. The crab cakes were full of crab with almost nothing else to ruin the flavor. My husband is picky about his fish and pouts when it's over cooked. It was rare the way he liked it and the chef's selection of fish (salmon, swordfish and tuna) was perfect for him. Pricey meal, but worth it if you want a great dining experience.
