A word from Legal Sea Foods - King of Prussia
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish.
Legal Sea Foods is a Philly favorite. Surrounded by hotels and near both the Valley Forge Convention Center and Valley Forge National Historic Site, we are at a mall entrance on the upper level of the Court.

Guests get reeled in by our buzz-worthy lounge and comfortable dining room. Half-shell hedonists may sit at our 10-seat horse-shoe shaped oyster bar where slurping is encouraged.

Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.

We’ve received a boatload of accolades including the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Our table wasn't ready at the time of our reservation. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes, then we got seated at a table next to the bar. Loud and drafty. When asked if we could be in the main dining room, we were told that you have to let them know when you made the reservation and it would be a longer wait. The mussles are very spicy, 1 of our oysters was bad, the lobster salad and rainbow trout were ok. Not what you would expect for the price charged. They did take the price of the oysters off our bill and remade the mussels without red peppers. Server and manager were very nice.

Loved our meals, the portion sizes were huge and we all ad leftovers. Sadly we were going shopping so we could not take the leftovers home. Our meals were so delicious we wished we could have taken them along home. As always my fish was prepared perfectly, not mushy or undercooked. Nicely seasoned and very flavorful. Our waitress could not have been more attentive, she made sure we had what we needed and was able to serve us our meals in a very timely manner. We did not have to ask for refills or anything. We love the tables by the window as the chairs are padded both on the seat and the back.

My wife and I had dinner at LS on Friday around 5:45 PM. The service was simply exceptional and I tipped in a way that would show my appreciation for our server's efforts. Our appetizers were, in a word, great. I had the Thai style calamari and my wife had the Band Band Cauliflower, a derivative of General Tso's chicken - outstanding taste and flavors for both. The one "negative" for me? I paid $13 for my portion of calamari. The size of the serving was very sufficient. The price was way too high for the serving size. My wife's cauliflower was $7 but she received easily 2-3 times as much as I did. I DO recognize the cost differential between the two items - I'm simply pointing out the price. I chose the grilled swordfish for dinner with a side of jasmine rice and paid the $2 upcharge for a "premium" side of sauteed mushrooms - cost? $32. Do you know how rice gets after you've finished it and eaten one serving and then go back for seconds? Sticky, clumpy and not "fresh"? That was my jasmine rice - obviously not made to order. While the swordfish was initially dry, the middle was done perfectly. The seasoning was also spot on. By my $30 dish came with a swordfish steak and 1/2 cup of white jasmine rice served on a white plate - no garnish, no "sauces", not remotely appealing to the eye. In a word? BORING. My wife had the woodgrilled assortment of fish entree. The piece of tuna that accompanied the other 2 pieces of fish was MW-to-Well done. Ugh....However, upon request, a new piece of tuna that was finished properly (RARE) was soon delivered to the table (great service...) The wine list (by the glass) is allegedly the "Best Value in America" (according to their post dinner place mats, however the glasses were far overpriced for average wines ($9.50-14.00/glass) - poor value, as far as I'm concerned. For $140+ for dinner, I'd expect some creative cooking and food that would leave me excited to talk about my experience. I probably won't return.

The raw oysters and fish selections are extraordinary. Trout was perfection and not overlooked. Raw oysters were fabulous. Also loved the steamers - you don't find Ipswich clams at other restaurants. Highly recommend For a great dinner or special occasion. This was our anniversary dinner and the food and service were perfect.

Very good menu, plenty of fish and other seafood. Also nice raw bar. I had a seafood medley dish with 3 different types of fish accompanied by shrimp and scallops. The fish tasted fresh, and the shrimp and scallops were large. (5 each). Its in a mall so it was noisy to a degree. The prices were very reasonable($27) for my dish. My wife had the scrod, which she said was excellent. Make a reservation if you plan to go. I noticed a line waiting to be seated, probably because of the mall shoppers planning last minute dinner plans.

Starting taking my Boston based kids to the Legals at the Pru years ago. Always a family favorite, not cheap, but good quality seafood and excellent service. Been going to the restaurant at the KoP mall since it opened. If you like seafood, it's hard not to have Legals in your restaurant repertoire.

I know mistakes can happen, but screwing up our dinners twice is just sloppy service. First my wife was served a steamed lobster instead of the baked stuffed lobster, so they took both entrees back. 10 minutes later her correct entree is served, but I am left in limbo for another 10 minutes, while her meal is getting cold. I must have been apologized to at least 5 times, which got annoying after the third time. Any half-decent restaurant would have at least comped something off my $115 bill, but not in this case. I guess I was too nice and should have raised a stink, but I was here to relax not stress about the service. The food was good, but the service was sub-standard for a restaurant of this caliber. I doubt I will go back.

The waiter asked if we had been to the restaurant before. We had. He knocked over a glass of water (accident) and he and the manager apologized. We had to ask for rolls 3/4 way through the meal (had always come automatically) and wondered whether it was his first time at the restaurant. Would have been nice if they offered a drink or dessert given the initial spill. Food was fine but very expensive night when accompanied by poor service. Don't expect to go back.

This is a very nice restaurant. I'd been itching to get to the B'more location for a couple of years. The only disappointment and this one is heard to beat, their crabcakes can not hold a candle to most crabcakes offered in MD based restaurants or even mine but the Bang Bang cauliflower appetizer will make you swoon. The fisherman's platter was great had fresh succelent scallops, shrimp and oysters. The crabcakes were served with a wonderful side salad of frissee and pumpkin seeds in a vinagrette that was refreshing. Even coffee was outstanding - just black. Would definitely return and tty other offerings

It was my first experience with Legal Sea Foods, recommended by my (26 year old) niece, and I was thoroughly pleased and pleasantly surprised. Great ambiance, personable and competent service and an overall solid experience.
