We have dined and lunched at a number of Legal's restaurants, including the flagship in Boston. This restaurant is fully up to the high standards that are always maintained. The food was every bit as good as we are accustomed to. Our server, Brandon, went out of his way to provide everything we needed and more. The prices were in line with what we expect for first-class food. The noise level at 7 p.m. on a Monday was almost at our limit of tolerance, but it surely showed the popularity and good spirit of Legal.

The ambiance of the place is that of a midnight diner and food was over cooked and overpriced. Maybe the raw oysters are good, but I am not paying $15 for 6, that is crazy. The cocktails were not very good and were also overpriced. I will not be back. To add insult to injury, when I asked for parking validation, they said the parking was free because it was a holiday; I paid $10 to get out of the garage.

Been to other Legal Seafood's, Crystal City establishment not up to par. Service was very poor, waitress unattentive, main dishes served while just beginning to eat very expensive appetizers....not acceptable. Better service and attention for a lot less money at Chile's.

I love Legal Sea Foods for many reasons, and since my Celiac's diagnosis three years ago, my primary reason for loving them is that they offer many options for those who must avoid gluten. They have GF rolls that are fantastic! I've eaten here many times and typically have nothing but great things to say. That said, on this visit I tried the GF spicy fish and chips (because it's not often I get to have fried fish outside of my own home). The fries were unremarkable and the breading on the fish was, well, let's just say "in need of perfecting." I'll definitely go back; I'm a LSF fan through and through. That said, I'll stay away from the fried GF options.

The room was sunny and cheerful; the service was excellent. There were 3 of us. Our waiter and a trainee were efficient, friendly, and went above the normal level of attention: when my friend and I split a dessert (otherwise we had separate meals), they automatically split the price between us. At the end of the meal when we asked for separate checks there was no issue at all; apparently they always keep track of the bills separately as a matter of course.

We had great food and service this week at Legal Sea Foods in CC. Loved the blackened trout and cajun trout. Service was prompt and professional. The only distraction was a person who was smoking right next to our table. This person was actually NOT eating at the restaurant, but sitting on a bench a few feet away. It was very unappetizing to be breathing second hand smoke as we were trying to dine

Visited with a group of nine. We had a reservation but were given a pager like the walk ins and had a 20 min wait. Also did not have s waiting area, so our party was scrunched up in the aisle between the bar and diners at tables. I'm sure this was bothersome to all patrons. Food was good.

I never am disappointed when I dine at the Crystal City LSF. Don't like the way a dish is discribed, don't fret they seem to have endless ways to offer their fresh sea food, just ask. Todd the GM has set a high standard while maintaining a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that makes for a most enjoyable expierance. The wait staff is amazing; professional, knowledgable, and friendly! It's like family without the drama!

There is never much to say about a meal at Legal. They are excellent, consistent and with great service. If you dont see a preparation you want on the menu, simply ask. That's what I did and recomend the dish highly... Crab and horseradish encrusted salmon on top of sauteed spinach and mashed sweet potato with a lemon butter sauce....

We really like Legal Sea foods and visit them in many different locations. At this location, the food was very good and the service from our server was quite good. I was a little disappointed by the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, as it seemed less elegant than the other Legal Sea Foods locations I have visited. The dining area is small and narrow and just not as fancy as some other locations. No complaints about the food or service, just the atmosphere.

I have been in eating at Legal Seafoods restaurants since my graduate student days a looooong time ago in the Boston area. The quality of the food, from the raw ingredients to the finished products, has always been very high. I love the shrimp cocktail and almost always have it. Large very fresh perfectly cleaned shrimp with a great sauce. Fish perfectly cooked and delicious with a simple buerre blanc. Very good salads, and more. The hot sourdough rolls are also a treat. I can recommend any and all of the LSF restaurants if my half century of eating at many of them is representative of all of them. BTW, their "tap" water is filtered. No eau d'chlorine here! A good wine list. There's lots more, but I have used up the space. Enjoy

Excellent Dining Experience. Legal Seafoods stands for good quality environmentally sound sourced fish and seafood. As such the food is fresh, quality and above all tasty. The environment is great providing you like the hustle and bustle. Server was knowledgeable and friendly and added to the experience. Wine recommendation went well with the meal. I have been to the restaurant on several occasions over the years of visits to DC - I shall certainly go back again. I highly recommend it to those staying in the Crystal City area.

After dining at the Legal Seafood in downtown DC, I was sure that this chain restaurant had finally succeeded at not feeling like a very average or less than average chain restaurant. The DC location is beautiful and bar was inviting and drinks tasty. Crystal City??? Not so much. It feels a little beat up and ignored. Definitely not a place that I would want to try again. I feel bad for my server. He was great but I'm not sure he will get repeat customers....especially with their competition around the corner. The bad thing...I think Legal Might have better food than their competition. The only reason I rated it low was because I had to send my scallops back for another flash on the grill. But was pretty tasty.

We are regulars at Legal, not only the one in Arlington but many others. We have ordered almost everything on the menu and it is usually all very good. This trip nothing was right. The food was cold or even uncooked (shrimp, scollops and the corn casserole) The room temp meal was was well below what we have grown to expect. We will continue to go to Legal in hopes that this was a very abnormal experience for us. We are usually very happy at Legal.

No profound rating here. I keep coming back because I like fresh seafood. They do a great job of not trying to make it more than it is. Sat at the bar to watch the world cup. The bar food did not disappoint because I was expecting bar food. It was what you might expect for a seafood restaurant - tuna burger, fish tacos, oysters.

Crowded floor plan, and noisy when full (which was this time). Friendly seating and server, attentive, but not overly so. Oysters were good and fresh, and shrimp also, although they were grilled and served, keeping the "spoon" shape from their being frozen. Should have been separated. I like LSF and will return.

My date and I had a bottle of their cheapest or near cheapest wine at $38, side salads at $7, and entrees at $22-25. Mine was the scrod of the day, prepared simply but very well and served with white rice and green beans, which I needed to season. My date had shrimp in garlic, which were obviously more highly seasoned and very good, served with noodles. No dessert or coffee. The bill came to $120 with tip.

My wife is both a paraplegic and GLUTEN free due to medical issues. The staff at this restaurant went out of their way to make her comfortable without making an issue of it. They have a separate GLUTEN Free Menu! My wife, normally a small eater, cleaned her plate. When the waiter offered us dessert (on the house; it was our wedding anniversary)my wife quickly chose one from the Gluten Free Menu and just as quickly this "small eater" downed the heavenly warm centered chocolate cake with a small side of vanilla ice cream.
