My husband had swordfish and he is still raving about how moist and delcious it was. I opted for crabcakes and they were crab and not filler. The ice cream bon bons are the best way to end dinner

it was my date and I's first time at LSF in Crystal city. the server / host and floor manager were great. loved the service. that being said i wasnt impressed with the spacing. the restaurant looks completely different from the website and yelp pics. its too small. everyone can hear your conversation and vice versa...after a while the wondering eyes leave little to be desired. the entrees came out WAY too fast even after the server told us they would be well-timed. In any case the food presentation wasnt pretty. the food looked flipped onto the plate and brought out to us. my date had a food allergy - they went the extra mile for us..that was appreciated.

Food and service just superb! The wood grilled shrimp was done just right, and with the Cajon spice they really hit the spot. Halima and Hesham and Amanda welcomed us and took exceptional care to make sure everything was to our liking and was perfect! A wonderful dining experience!

I was looking forward to my fish and chips meal. I had it there before and it was pretty good. I was very surprised at the meal quality. The fries were oily/soggy and so was the fish. It had no taste. I was very disappointed. Did you change the type of fish you're serving? The service as usual was first rate.

  • Seafood favorite..but show up early

One of my favorite seafood places in DC/VA (the one in Chinatown is great as well). For a higher-end restaurant the prices are reasonable, and the have a good selection. We had the Shrimp and Garlic (which I highly recommend) with Fried Oysters (which I highly recommend), the Fried Oysters (average) and the Double Stuffed Baked Shrimp (wayyyyy too bready, but otherwise tasty). We went on a Wednesday night, and the place was packed (a good sign of a restaurants quality). The ambience is higher-volume, but relaxed. My only complaint is that even with a reservation, we still had to wait 15-20 minutes for our table, which I hear is common for this location. Still, if you can get there early and have patience, I would recommend!

After good reviews on Trip Adviser We booked a table online, really easy to do (We do live 3,000+ miles away). We were treated to a great night of good wine and top-notch sea food. For starters we chose from a good selection of oysters. The mains; Mahi-Mahi and Tuna were superior. I have caught & eaten much fish all over the globe and I can't remember eating better and I have certainly paid more! The detail to attention and help offered by all the staff was great - there if you needed them but not over the top. A big thanks to all.

We go here every year following the Marine Corps Marathon and have always had a great meal. Each year we start with a dozen oysters and there is always several offered, many varieties we are not familiar with. So we describe what we like and the server provides a recommendation and we have always been pleased. I almost always get the Boston Scrod and my wife will mix it up. We've had many great meals at this place and which we lived nearby and not an hour away. The service is excellent, we've had the same server 3 years in a row and I can't say that at any other restaurant I've been to. That alone speaks volumes about the management and loyalty of the employees.

Went there with two adults and a toddler to celebrate a birthday. Our table was ready when we arrived and everyone was very friendly. Food is always delicious and portions are a good size. One of my favorite things is that the server will take the child's order when you order drinks (if you want to order it then), which means their food comes faster and they stay happier! It's a win-win for everyone.

For the first time my dining experience was less than impressive. I ordered blackened grilled scallops. I think they missed the "blackened" part and the "grilled" part was only half there. only one side of my scallops had any sign of a grill mark. Although they were cooked ok, the plate presentation and overall appearance of the food was not very appealling. My sides were over cooked asparagus and enough dry brown rice to feed 3 people. I will say the bang bang cauliflower was tasty. It was very disappointing.

Had a great meal with friends on Sunday that was ruined by bad information from a staff member. Parked in garage and asked when leaving if they validated for parking. The staff member looked at my ticket and said that parking was free on Sundays. Well, had to pay $10 to get out of the garage. You would think that employees would be better trained than that!

The bar scene was great and the bartenders poured well crafted drinks. We were seated quickly and the hosts were helpful. The restaurant itself was ok, not the best Legal Seafoods I have dined at, but the noise level was so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk at the table. The restaurant was very busy and the service was very good, food was ok. I suggest that the wedge salad come with a blue cheese dressing rather than a blue cheese vinaigrette as the vinaigrette was way too sour. Tuna cooked well but stringy. Filet cooked perfectly to taste.

Went for OysterFest, what a disappointment. Have gone every year for 5 years and it just goes down, down, downhill. Specials focused on the bar, but they did have a sampler plate app and oyster stew in the main. Not a one of the five offerings in the oyster app was NOT cold, can't say I enjoyed any of them, and the mini-taco had pork so dried out it was not edible. My wife did not enjoy her old favorite, wood-smoked trout (tasteless), cold mashed potatoes (BOXED?!?! what happened to the great old garlic mashed?) and broc with some pasty cheese-like substance on it. Pretty sad all the way around. Farewell, OysterFest, and goodbye, Legal Seafoods, we won't be back.

We have dined and lunched at a number of Legal's restaurants, including the flagship in Boston. This restaurant is fully up to the high standards that are always maintained. The food was every bit as good as we are accustomed to. Our server, Brandon, went out of his way to provide everything we needed and more. The prices were in line with what we expect for first-class food. The noise level at 7 p.m. on a Monday was almost at our limit of tolerance, but it surely showed the popularity and good spirit of Legal.

The ambiance of the place is that of a midnight diner and food was over cooked and overpriced. Maybe the raw oysters are good, but I am not paying $15 for 6, that is crazy. The cocktails were not very good and were also overpriced. I will not be back. To add insult to injury, when I asked for parking validation, they said the parking was free because it was a holiday; I paid $10 to get out of the garage.

I love Legal Sea Foods for many reasons, and since my Celiac's diagnosis three years ago, my primary reason for loving them is that they offer many options for those who must avoid gluten. They have GF rolls that are fantastic! I've eaten here many times and typically have nothing but great things to say. That said, on this visit I tried the GF spicy fish and chips (because it's not often I get to have fried fish outside of my own home). The fries were unremarkable and the breading on the fish was, well, let's just say "in need of perfecting." I'll definitely go back; I'm a LSF fan through and through. That said, I'll stay away from the fried GF options.

The room was sunny and cheerful; the service was excellent. There were 3 of us. Our waiter and a trainee were efficient, friendly, and went above the normal level of attention: when my friend and I split a dessert (otherwise we had separate meals), they automatically split the price between us. At the end of the meal when we asked for separate checks there was no issue at all; apparently they always keep track of the bills separately as a matter of course.

We had great food and service this week at Legal Sea Foods in CC. Loved the blackened trout and cajun trout. Service was prompt and professional. The only distraction was a person who was smoking right next to our table. This person was actually NOT eating at the restaurant, but sitting on a bench a few feet away. It was very unappetizing to be breathing second hand smoke as we were trying to dine

We really like Legal Sea foods and visit them in many different locations. At this location, the food was very good and the service from our server was quite good. I was a little disappointed by the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, as it seemed less elegant than the other Legal Sea Foods locations I have visited. The dining area is small and narrow and just not as fancy as some other locations. No complaints about the food or service, just the atmosphere.
