Diner Reviews
  • "We were seated by the window, which was awesome, but we were between 3 tables of 20-25 Microsoft team members who were very loud and a bit rude as they stood around us talking. In hindsight, we should have moved but we didn't want to give up our view. The wait staff was obviously harried because it took 15-20 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders! When we ordered the clam chowder, we were told they were OUT of it ... at 7:15 PM!!! Luckily, they 'found' some so we could have the one thing we went to the restaurant for in the first place."

  • "This was our second time at Legal Seafoods. The first time earlier this year was fabulous! The fish was just terrific. Unfortunately that could not be said of our dining this week. Fish was over-cooked. Service was good and the ambiance was nice as well."

  • "We had requested a booth in a semi-private area so we could celebrate our daughter's first anniversary of completing cancer treatments – without remission. The "booth" that we were provided was really not a booth; but two tables pushed together with one side having bench seating, instead of chairs – and it was located in a high traffic area; with waiters and waitresses constantly passing by. The food quality was "okay" – but a far cry from what we had experienced when dining at Legal Sea Foods in Boston – and was certainly not in line with its price! Despite our disappointment we MIGHT go back sometime, in the hope that the chef was just having a bad day."

  • "Overall, the group found the food to be ok. I've been before when the food was much better. Not sure I'm going back anytime soon."

  • "I've visited this Legal Seafood many times but I've never experienced such horrific service. My sister and I sat at the downstairs bar and the guys working the bar were clearly having bad days. It was disheartening and I'll probably never eat there again."

  • "This was a busy day for legal seafood and I wish they had told us before we sat down. It took a long time to get our food and then when it came out the food was cold (cold seafood is gross). We had a concert to get to so I sent my meal back but wasn't able to get anything else so I just went hungry for the rest of the night."

  • "Expected more, received standard. Service was great, responsive and polite however food was not hot, just warm when brought to the table. Not likely to return or recommend."

  • "you are better off finding a local seafood restaurant."

  • "We tried the one in Boston and loves it. Atlanta branch is just as fantastic. Highly recommend the grits and crab cakes and scallops. It was a wonderful experience for my wife, daughter and mother in law and myself. We will be back."

  • "I liked the fact that there are different levels/ares to dine in. I was disappointed when I made reservations for patio dining and after arrival was unable to sit there due to a private reservation. (It was my Birthday) so we settled on the next best thing by a window, only to have to move due to another reservation *sigh*. Finally off to a booth where we had a new server Alex or Adam. He was great and gave us complimentary appetizers. I loved the Crab soup, Cioppino and even the bread *YummmO*. Staff was great and the ambiance. I will definitely return. I just have to figure out how to reserve the seat that I like. Lol"

  • "We were led to a table in the back of a room surrounded by two large groups. We asked the hostess did we have to sit there and were told yes. One of the groups had a lot of children and one that was quite unruly. We ended up leaving before dining. However our waiter was great. The restaurant needs better hostesses that act like they understand customer service."

  • "My family and I did not enjoy our food that much though the fish and chips that our kids have is better than the one I had in Harry Potter in Orlando. I have high expectation when we came in here. Kids mentioned that the food in our town is better than the one we have(seafood restaurant). The last time we went to Legal Seafood was at Washington DC area, we have a good time. I did not like our service, seems he is in a hurry though that was late afternoon. Also not friendly or smiling but probably working hard or busy but that was late afternoon and not too much people. Great atmosphere though but not recommending it except if we have to. Kids wanting to eat downstairs where the games are. Disappointed about this reservation."

  • "The meal at Legal Seafood was very good. We ate on the balcony with a wonderful view of the park. Our waitress Chelsey was attentive and professional. My wife had the Crab Cakes and I had the Tuna Melt both were very tasty this is a wonderful restaurant. It was a great experience since it was our initial visit."

  • "being from New England, I think of lobster rolls in the summertime. Finding myself in Atlanta and not knowing the seafood scene, Legal's is a safe choice for fresh seafood. The lobster roll is on the lunch menu so you have to ask for it at dinner. Try it with a cup of chowda!"

  • "I ordered the shrimp bake and I didn't care so much for the strong celery taste. I've eaten the lobster bake and the stuffing was better. The Legal Seafood Sangria was great."

  • "Placed reservation due to reviews, seafood menu, & downtown requested window view of fireworks. That evening was told by host, that people have finished eating & are now sitting in potentially mostly reserved seating near window. I asked reservation to be cancelled.//IMPORTANT NOTE!// PLEASE ignore and disregard star ratings on food, ambiance, & noise level!! I/we never got a chance to dine in person. Only can truthfully rate a portion of the service related to the reservation."

  • "We went with a group of 4 people after a long day at a conference. So happy with our experience. The food was all amazing and you must try the clam chowder. We enjoyed our food so much that we had to order dessert even though we were stuffed."

  • "Fresh, quality seafood, as expected. I was a little surprised by the blandness of my entree (salmon), but it was properly cooked and was an appropriately-sized portion. I risked raw oysters in a month without an "R," and they were good. Our waitress was professional and attentive."

  • "Great food...service from start to finish. No waiting at all for service."

  • "Waitress forgot our drink orders. Over charged us for an extra kids meal when I we asked for was a side of macaroni. We had no pepper. We received no drink refills. NO offer of dessert. It was not the normal service we were use to from Legal Seafood."

  • "Having lived in New England for several years, I'd heard that if I ever got to Boston I just had to eat at Legal Seafood. I never had the opportunity to visit the original in Boston, so was looking forward to eating at the one in Atlanta. What a disappointment. The food is decent, but far from outstanding, and the prices are high. The cost is not worth the food we received. There are many other places in Atlanta that are a much better value."

  • "Some of the absolute best seafood I have had in years. Crab cakes were real crab meat with little filler. Tuna steak was perfect. We have already decided that this will definitely be a repeat date restaurant."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Had the worst ever swordfish at this restaurant. It tasted like it was brined to hide the fact that it was not very fresh. I have had better swordfish in Kansas for half the price."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Excellent and attentive servers. Great food and appetizers. I will return to eat again. Worth the money."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "The restaurant was crowded. The service was incredibly slow and poor. It took almost three hours to complete our meal. We were continually and repeatedly promised that our food items were arriving soon, but they did not. Your food was not that good. The noise level was far too loud for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. There was a group on one end of the restaurant that was so raucous and loud that we could not carry on a conversation across the table. We have eaten there before and we really enjoyed it. But, after this experience, we have no plans to ever return to it to spend that level of money and receive such poor service of substandard food in less than desirable surroundings."

  • "We were seated fairly quickly after our reservation time however it took forever for the server to greet our table. When she did greet our table she was sloppy with buttons undone on her shirt. Our drinks took forever to get to us. My dad went to the bar to check on the drink order and the bartender told us the order hadn't been placed. Server kept saying she was waiting on the drinks to be made. It took a long time for our dinner to arrive as well. Oysters Rockefeller and crab legs were not available; this was the very reason I wanted to bring my father here on Father's Day. The Legal Sea Foods in NJ and Boston were so much better! I should have gone to Capital Grille."

  • "I took my father and sister here on 6/15 for Father's Day. Our waitress was initially polite, but very condescending when describing the specials. My father and I both ordered the wood grilled assortment. The menu said "this dish is to be cooked medium rare", but neither of us read it, nor did our waitress tell us when ordering. So when our three fish items arrived, we were both upset. The waitress said, "Well...it did say that they are cooked that way in the menu." I had the tuna and salmon sent back because it was NOT SAFE to eat. I ended up switching them out for 4 pieces of shrimp. And that was not a fair trade Parking: "Valet parking is $10.00 for 3HRS at Legal Sea Foods" - it's a lie; don't let them bully you for $15 at the pay box."
