Diner Reviews
  • "I had to stop the manager to get a drink because even though my server passed me many times, over 10 minute span, he said nothing. I of course asked to be moved and my new server (Laticia?) was much better. So if you want a chance at a great dining experience ask for her. The food was hit or miss. The bang bang cauliflower was awesome. The clam chowder was okay. Shrimp and grits were awesome. The fudge cake dessert was not good. It was cold which I complained about. I was told by my server it was not supposed to be but no effort was made to correct the dish that they served to me incorrectly. I paid for it even though she threw away 95% of it, no biggie. I definitely don't recommend this restaurant and I won't be returning."

  • "This was my first visit, and I was very please. I made reservations for a party of 9 for a 50th birthday party. The staff was very accomodating, the food was excellent as was the ambience. The service was good but not great. However it was Restaurant Week and the restaurant was very busy. All of the staff were pleasant and very accomodating. They even took pics for my bday friend to remember the event. I would definitely recommend and return!"

  • "I went during Restaurant week. The crab cakes are the bomb and I would get those again. The crab soup was soooooo good that I'm thinking of returning again this week just for that."

  • "Legal Seafood wasn't all that I thought it would be. I went for lunch during restaurant week and was very excited! The food took a very long time to come out, which was frustrating since I was on my lunch break. The cauliflower appitizer was delicious and the salmon burger wasn't very tasty. Apparently, they were short staffed so the workers seemed a bit stressed."

  • "This was our second visit to Legal Seafoods and we really enjoyed it. The crab cakes with the mustard sauce were absolutely wonderful and so was the salmon. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and family"

  • "We enjoyed the outdoor dining because we had great food and perfect weather for August. I had the house salad and fish and chips, which brought back memories of Legal Seafood in Boston. My friends had the seafood casserole, rich and creamy. Wayne was energetic and helpful. Everyone we met was pleasant and welcoming. We were there during Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week and would come again. Particularly liked the validated parking! The only negative was the street noise from delivery trucks on the street below."

  • "I went for Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week 2014 for the first time. My server, Delta, was very attentive and provided me with wonderful customer service. Upon looking at the regular menu I decided to order from it. I was impressed with the food because it was challenging to find a good seafood restaurant in Atlanta. I loved grilled seafood and the shrimp and scallops were grilled to perfection. I was a little disappointment the meal I ordered did not come with sides (because I am a sides girl); it only came with a very small bed of lettuce, that was more like garnish than a salad- but it was fresh and the dressing was very good. The bread was to die for and it took everything in me not to ask for more. Looking forward to returning."

  • "Went here bc it was near Phillips. Had Bang Bang Cauliflour App which was only star of meal. Took too long to get food and choices were limited. Nothing special."

  • "I have dined at Legal Sea Foods before and never disappointed. I tried the swordfish with a Cajun rub which was a great suggestion by the waitress and the spicy calamari for my appetizer. I enjoyed the ambiance and the food. Will be back soon."

  • "Great venue for outdoor seating on a nice day - great view. Seafood exceptionally fresh but not cooked well. Got the chef's choice wood grilled platter but the swordfish was not cooked through; was medium cooked in parts and the salmon was overcooked. Received a piece of fish that I couldn't identify and when I asked the waiter, Alex, what it was, he thought it was tuna - fish was definitely not tuna. The crab cakes, however, were exceptional - huge lump crap with virtually no filler. Nice hot rolls served with the meal. Try the premium side dish of corn with bacon, basil and pecorino - that is the one dish that I would return for. The clam chowder was delicious and prepared almost perfectly as well."

  • "Will probably not be returning. The bread was very good however the entree was not that great. My rating from 1-10, 10 being the best I would rate the food only a 4.sorry Staff was good"

  • "Food was excellent. We just wished we had the other waiter/server. He did a much better job with taking care of the guests at the table next to ours. He made helpful suggestions and substitutions for the dishes as the catfish was not available. Our server, she did the bare minimum. Being that it was our 1st experience with them, we would have rather had the other server to wait on us. Not-to-mention, it was my God mom's birthday. He would have been more accommodating."

  • "We arrived witha group of 8 and were sat immediately. Our waitress explained everything in detail. The food arrived about 20 min later and everyone was very happy. The cocktails were not that impressive but the actual seafood was delicious!"

  • "Service was adequate, food was a little dry, table was at a noisy and busy service route, the combo plate (scallops, shrimp, and crabcake) all tasted the same."

  • "Boyfriend’s birthday heard rave reviews but it miserably failed reputation. Booth was torn bulging & inside lining was dirty. An ABUNDANCE of small children that made ambience disruptive. Menu left a lot to be desired if u don’t want “sushi” offered an entrée w/a variety of seafood but it was all raw. Stated it was 1st dining experience & we were overdressed compared to crowd that looked as if they had just come from playing in the park, but no one inquired if we were celebrating anything. Cocktails are overpriced, tasteless, & lack the fair amount of alcohol that any first year bartender would serve. Overall I will only recommend this restaurant to someone that wants a nice view of Centennial Park when they take small children out to eat."

  • "Being that they claim to be a seafood restaurant, I asked about the tuna entree. I thought it was a valid and easy question. What type of tuna is it. Waitress had to ask the kitchen. Other than that ok experiance and food but note worth the money."

  • "It was my anniversary and this great seafood restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The seafood is flown in daily from New England how much fresher can you get? Absolutely wonderful"

  • "Given all that I'd heard of the place along with the price point, I expected better. The food was good but nothing memorable to inspire me to come back. Overall it just wasn't what I expected."

  • "I ordered a baked stuff lobster. I received a boiled Lobster. When I di receive my correct order it was way over cooked. Shame on this overpriced menu serving a overcooked lobster. This former New Englander can cook much better than these clueless cooks at this restaurant. Management did not even show up at our table to check on the quality of food. This place needs a major overhaul of its management & cook staff that serve dry & rubbery lobster."

  • "I went to Legal's as a birthday dinner with my husband. The scenery was amazing! We had the opportunity to have a window view. The server was awesome. She consistently check to ensure that our dining needs were taken care of. The food....Oh, the food was phenomenal! Everything was delicious. I ordered the catfish filets, mashed sweet potatoes, fried onions, and a crab cake. My husband had the the fried fish, sweet mashed potatoes, and fries. We both were highly satisfied. I would highly recommened."

  • "The reason we went to Legal Seafood was for the gluten free menu. It was extensive and included fried seafood, which is a rarity and a treat when you have to be gluten free. The highlight of the meal was definitely the shrimp cocktail. It was probably one of the best we've ever had!!! Our food was a little slow in coming out though, perhaps this was due to the special preparation? Overall, it was an ok experience, but not sure I would recommend to others."

  • "We were seated by the window, which was awesome, but we were between 3 tables of 20-25 Microsoft team members who were very loud and a bit rude as they stood around us talking. In hindsight, we should have moved but we didn't want to give up our view. The wait staff was obviously harried because it took 15-20 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders! When we ordered the clam chowder, we were told they were OUT of it ... at 7:15 PM!!! Luckily, they 'found' some so we could have the one thing we went to the restaurant for in the first place."

  • "This was our second time at Legal Seafoods. The first time earlier this year was fabulous! The fish was just terrific. Unfortunately that could not be said of our dining this week. Fish was over-cooked. Service was good and the ambiance was nice as well."

  • "We had requested a booth in a semi-private area so we could celebrate our daughter's first anniversary of completing cancer treatments – without remission. The "booth" that we were provided was really not a booth; but two tables pushed together with one side having bench seating, instead of chairs – and it was located in a high traffic area; with waiters and waitresses constantly passing by. The food quality was "okay" – but a far cry from what we had experienced when dining at Legal Sea Foods in Boston – and was certainly not in line with its price! Despite our disappointment we MIGHT go back sometime, in the hope that the chef was just having a bad day."
