  • "I would replace the entire staff at the meet and greet area with people who are more polite, But once you get past those people the rest of the experience will be great. the food is very tasty, the service was outstanding, yeah it is a little loud in there but what can you do? Very attractive atmosphere as well. Cost a little bit but worth it. I would go back."

  • "After our previous disaster, the attention to detail and focus by the staff was much better. The manager specifically wanted to rectify the poor performance of the previous visit, after I had specifically complained about very poort service. The food was presented well, tasted good and of a high standard. I'd defintitely go back, as I put the previous experince down to a "one-off". We sat outside this time and all in all had a very enjoyable meal and expereince all round."

  • "The combination of flavors in all of the dishes we had was outstanding! The trout was great and I throughly enjoyed the mango mousse for dessert."

  • "we come here a lot, but every time we make reservation and note that we do not want to sit bunched up with other customers, it never seams to matter. this last visit, made a reservation for 5:30pm, showed up 10 minutes early and was told we had to wait. the place was empty, then a older couple came in, no reservation and they immediately seated them. This happens to us every time. Why make a reservation."

  • "They just changed the menu and removed everything that I liked! The server forgot our frites, put anchovies on my salad when I asked him not to and the ice tea was watered down. Of course I will give them another chance, but very disappointed."

  • "Food was ok and the service was poor. They would have sold more beer and food had there been a server to take the order. Find another restaurant interested in service and selling to their customers."

  • "Came for lunch with my boyfriend because I was craving their spinach salad! Great food as always, service was a little slow and unattentive but he got the job done and was still better than average servers... Regardless, We still love this place!"

  • "Been there several times and have never walked out saying "That was delicious." This time, for lunch, I had the chicken & brie sandwich. The mayo-like spread on the top piece of bread was good, and break was good. The fig balsamic spread on the bottom piece of bread was way too sweet. Caramelized onions could have been cooked longer. I deconstructed the sandwich, ate the top break alone, cut up the chicken to eat alone, but something about the taste combo of brie with chicken didn't work for me."

  • "As always the food was excellent. However, the service did not allow us to relax and enjoy the food. Our wait person had a very poor attitude."

  • "Our family has been to the Santana Row Left Bank a dozen times now and we've not been disappointed yet. The food is always fresh and prepared to our liking, the menu is a little lean for vegetarians but otherwise has a grea selection. The location is great and the services is always at least good, and most times excellent. I highly recommend it."

  • "Left Bank has the most lovely bar-to-patio seating bridging onto the best spot in the oh-so-Parisian Santana Row one can find. The menu actually provides delicious French cuisine in a beautifully appointed and very large restaurant. My sense is that they do not pay their servers quite so well, nor train them so well, but they are always kindly and endeavoring to serve well. They just change on a regular basis and they vary greatly in how they perform their duties. But, all that said, I enjoy taking my 89-year-old mother there for early afternoon Sunday lunches where we lounge and watch the fantastic array of passers-by on the outdoor patio along the Row."

  • "I went there on Saturday 03/22/2014 at 6 PM and had the worst service of my life. In the two hours we were there, the waitress came to our table 6 times. Once to take our order, and didn't even introduce herself. Never came to see if our food was good or if we needed anything else. Then came to our table after our plates were gone for 10 minutes and our drinks were empty to bring the bill, had to ask her if we could see the dessert menu. Brought spoons to our table to eat cheesecake. Brought the bill, took the bill and brought receipt along with my card back. On an 88.00 bill I left a 7.00 tip. I have been to this restaurant several times and always had a pleasant experience. I kind of had the feeling of we are on Santana Row so tip me."

  • "The moules et frites were as excellent as ever. First time for salade nicoise.....very good indeed, but a little too salty."

  • "Ordered the onion soup to compare with my own, and it was superb! The flavors hit your taste buds with a mellow, yet well developed depth. The pear salad was fresh and delicious! We had joked about dining around Santana Row, but after this meal we knew we'd repeat dining here often in order to try more items on the menu!"

  • "My daughter and I went for dinner on a Tuesday night. I'm glad I did open table reservations, as it was crowded!. If you order one thing, I highly recommend the fondue! So creamy and great flavor. My daughter had the crab salad as well, which was delicious. I ordered the squid ink spaghetti, but found the sauce too spicy, and the lobster had little flavor. The table next to use ordered the steak and frites, which smelled and looked fabulous. The table of three ate every last bit, so I assume it was great. Our server was super friendly and always checked on us, which gave for the better rating. My daughter is a server as well at a local restaurant and knows how hard it is when your busy- our server EXCELLED !!!"

  • "I took a friend to lunch at Left Bank SR on Saturday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we were seated outside. I had a simple omelette and she enjoyed the mussels. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our table was a little small for lunch and we were a bit cramped but it was location, location right in front where we could enjoy the fabulous weather and the parade of people passing by. Left Bank is a reliable favorite."

  • "Gave the restaurant a second chance, but the service was just as poor. Little concern despite our complaint. The restaurant relies on volume in an area of heavy foot traffic. The experience of party of two seemed insignificant to the staff."

  • "The food was very good, especially the oysters. Service was fine. Unfortunately, the place was so noisy that we really could not hear each other in a party of three."

  • "Great hot spot to sit outside and people watch. The servers are all friendly! The bartenders can be a bit slow. Fondue is great and so are the salads. The rest I don't eat (veggie). Wine list is just okay. They need to bring back reasonably priced and good chardonnays (La Crema for example)."

  • "Left Bank is always a good choice at Santana Row. We sat outside and were part of the vibrant atmosphere of a warm Thurs. night. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. We split the scallop appetizer....though you only get 3 scallops, they were delicious and tender and very flavorful. I had the Nicoise salad and it was amazing!!!"

  • "I have had lunch several times at Left Bank, and each time was great. The food is very good - you get what you pay for."

  • "Even though we had a reservation, it appeared we needed to wait for people to leave. Therefore we decided to take one of the bistro tables (near the bar). The noise level was really high and our waitress was not good. She did not bring any bread (although we were with a child). When we asked an other waiter, we got our bread with no butter. We asked our waitress to have butter but she never got us any. During the meal, she barely pay attention to us. Is it b/c we were on the bistro side? LB is one of my favorite restaurants in Santana Row but not that night. Really disappointed by the service."

  • "Went to Left Bank a few years back...took our order but food didn't show up for over 30 min....simply walked out. Tried it again last weekend. Service better but food very overpriced with disappointing quality. Asked for substitution of baked potato for french fries for my health conscious teenage son an was told they couldn't do it.....ridiculous in this day and age. They've lost our business for good."

  • "Food was lackluster. Restaurant is incredibly busy, so service was spotty. Scallops were particularly egregious, with the ginger sauce tasting like water. Overall, the food is not worth the view."

  • "I found that none of the selections in the rating form fit Left Bank perfectly. The reason it is my "go-to" restaurant at Santana Row is because the food is always dependably good. I like the fact that the portions are not overwhelming, but are always enough. I always order the trout almondine, but recently had the special, sole provencal. Wonderful. The vegetables are always fresh and cooked perfectly. Their wine selections are refreshingly different and good. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. And the chocolate mousse is TO DIE FOR!"

  • "We arrived 15 min before our reservation and though it was not full, were told to wait. Once seated, it was another 10 min before our waitress met us, and then only to apologize and make us wait another 10 min. For took forever to get to us and everything else was dead slow. Others near us were having the same, frustrating experience. The waitress seemed over-worked. She was doing her best but probably had too many tables. Food was very good. No complaints there. I like this restaurant, but will go when I have a lot of time to kill."

  • "I love, love, love the food here. It's good quality food you can count on again and again. However, during this last visit, the service was really sub-par! I had made a reservation ahead of time, and still had to wait 25 minutes for my table. Once seated, the server poured water and left us with a nearly empty water container to refill our own glasses. The only other time we saw the server was to take our order and ask for the check. When she brought my wine, she poured it in a dirty wine glass that I moved to the side on our table before I could ask for a clean glass. She took it away and returned momentarily with a glass of wine...I have no idea if it was the same glass or not. She didn't say a word."

  • "Been here once before & enjoyed the service & food. This time we were a large group of 14 & got a table in the back & we were often forgotten about. There was one other table in there with us who happened to be friends with the chef so they go a lot of attention- not that way for us at all. Our server was doing her best but she & her support staff were just swamped. We did not get water or bread or wine opened for a long time-she was just overwhelmed. She really tried but this was a big mistake on the management. They let down 14 new potential diners that get asked...what did you do on nye? I remember responses from previous years & this one did not add up. I might return but not w/a large party & not for NYE & not in that back room...ever."

  • "Entertaining out of town guests, one from the east coast & the other from Europe We had a wonderful experience, the outdoor seating, the attentive service, the great menu, & the piece de resistance, Cafe Ligeois! I'm going to return just for that dessert selection!"

  • "I always love the Left Bank. My favorite drink is White Lightning. Refreshing and a bit spicy. The fries are great. The tartare (steak in winter, tuna in spring/summer) is always fresh. There is usually a good vibe, and sitting outside people watching is always entertaining. The service is consistently great. It's a place I know I can go if guests are in town or for my usual happy hour with a friend."

  • "I'm so sad to report that the Left Bank restaurant, which has always been a favorite restaurant, has gone down hill. I booked a table for 6 people, my wife and 4 friends, for dinner last Monday night and it was a complete disaster! The before dinner drinks were very poor with little or no alcohol. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The appetizers arrived within minutes and no sooner had we started on the appetizers our main courses arrived! I was very upset, but I didn't want to make a fuss and ruin the evening. while eating the entrees, we did comment on how average the food was - not very good at all. It just was not an enjoyable dining experience and I will never, ever return!"

  • "they changed the menu and while the food is still good i miss the old menu. i am not a fan of skirt steak and that is the only steak option they have which was disappointing. the food was still good and solid....just not a fan of the menu anymore."

  • "Good spot for special occassion or brunch. All of our entrees were perfectly cooked. Our waiter, Noah, provided great service. He even took the time to give our mom a special birthday treat right before we were ready to leave (we'd forgotten to mention beforehand that it was her b-day). My only complaint was that we'd called ahead for outdoor seating to accommodate our dog, but it was given away when we arrived. They said they do not guarantee seating."

  • "The fondue is great, coq au vin was nice, though the server had a hard time serving it (he should just bring it and not try to dress the dish), but the dessert was a pity, the ice cream for the profiteroles was OK (not outstanding but OK), however the choux was dry, I'm sure it had been frozen or was baked more than one day before, I couldn't eat them."
