"Bit pricey for comme si, comme ca food. When we walked in, we were surprised that the restaurant was empty, 7:15 Saturday evening. The appetizers were very good, raw salmon, crab special, artichoke and onion soup, however, my pork chop special was nothing special- dry and tasteless, the beef filet slightly sour and the vol au vent lobster a bit tough."

"Somewhat disappointed with food. Command a NY restaurant price with so-so quality. Escargot appetizer was good. But main entree, lack of Colorado lamb was not up to the restaurant's reputation. It is rather disappointing. Service was decent. For the restaurants in resorts like Vail, ratings are all relative, which means one cannot compare a NY restaurant with 4.5 stars with ones with the same rating in resort area."

"Menu offered many excellent choices of authentic French cuisine. The fresh pasta with black truffles was our favorite appetizer - well worth it! For dinner we sampled the pan seared elk chops, puff pastry with lobster and shrimp, and the duck breast. The meat was tender and very flavorful. Our server Adam was very attentive and helpful in making our food & wine choices."

"We dine here several times each year... like it for its reliably excellent French fare and quiet setting, tho' it desperately needs redecorating. On our recent night there, we ordered a very nice bottle of wine. At our first taste, we thought it was OK, so the server poured for all four of us. When we toasted each other and took a sip, we looked at each other and said, "This wine has gone bad." We told the server, who sniffed it and said, "It's fine." We said it wasn't. So, he took the bottle to the bartender and came back and said, "It's fine." We persisted that it was not and we would like to order a different bottle. It took a while for him to agree to it. Both the wine and this experience left a bad taste in our mouths..."

"The Left Bank is one of the best places to eat in Vail. It is not amazing, but the food is very good and the wine selection is extensive. The maitre d is excellent and knows his trade well offering excellent service. The only problwm i saw was the quality of the rest of the waitstaff varied, with some people waiting for beverages or for checks. I did not have a problem with my server but watched others who did. This was a slower night as well so it was not a result of being busy .

Food Recomendations: A wonderful tomato soup that is both rich and creamy without the cream.
They are also very generous with sauces, enough so that you will have enough to use some bread to enjoy a bit at the end.
They have really good fresh ice cream."
