Diner Reviews
  • "Consistently good Middle Eastern style food at reasonable prices, and friendly if not always attentive service. Stays open late in the "hot" and attractive area called "Harbor East", on the eastern edge of downtown Baltimore, so a good place to go after symphony or theatre, when some places are closed or closing."

  • "The seafood in my bouillabaise (probably spelled incorrectly) was perfectly cooked, but the base of it seemed to be just chopped heated tomatoes in juice from the tomatoes with salt. I recall now that, about two years ago, I ordered the same meal here (the only other time I've eaten here) and was similarly disappointed. Wish the otherwise wonderful chef would learn to get a bit zestier with the spices, especially given the cost of the meals."

  • "We have only eaten here twice. However, both times the food was superb, and the service was excellent - especially our last visit! Ziad, our server, was very attentive, pleasant, and friendly. We hope to be served by him on our next visit!"

  • "My lady friend and I learned about LT and she expressed a desire to go there. I took her there with the intention of making HER happy but was instead wowed by the food. There were exotic dishes with good variety, so it was a great opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. Romantic ambience, but you can easily take a family there as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

  • "The food is always good here. Great place for Middle Eastern food."

  • "Place was full yet comfortable. The decor was Euro modern meets traditional Middle Eastern. Picture IKEA with decorative Middle Eastern light fixtures. First Lebanese food experience, but knew it was very similar to other Mediterranean cuisine. The waiter was extremely helpful. We took his recommendation and ordered Chef's platter, kabob plate and Awamat for desert. The Chef's platter gave us a taste of 9 different menu appetizers. When combined with the FRESHLY baked bread, this Chef's platter could serve as a meal. We ordered the chicken and kafta kabobs which came with a side of rice. Kafta is an acquired taste. Awamat are similar to Greek loukoumades. Honey dipped "munchkins" served with a sweet whipped cream. Lrg food/drink menu"

  • "The tavern was a very well appointed restaurant with good service and great food. I was pleased with the chef's platter of appetizers and especially happy with the lamb kabobs. My colleague, however, had the whole sea bass, which had a few too many scales remaining. Overall, great experience."

  • "Went for Restaurant Week with coworkers for lunch. Made a reservation for the group and even beat the "lunch rush" to the restaurant. I only wish that the service was able to keep up with the amount of customers it had seated for lunch. A work lunch that should've lasted an hour, turned into two hours. The staff was apologetic for the slow service/neglect and explained that all of the customers sat down at once. This is an understandable situation, I only wish that the restaurant had better prepared, especially since it was more than halfway through Restaurant Week. All in all, this is my second time dining at this venue, and I will definitely return, but probably head there when I'm not pressed for time!"

  • "We have dined at the restaurant about six times over the last few years. It has always been terrific. Great food, great service and great value for the price. We will return when we visit Baltimore again."

  • "The food was average for middle eastern amd overpriced at that. Our server was subpar and brought out our meals at different times. Will not be dining here again. It's a shame for such a great location!"

  • "Had a lovely dinner there! It was a busy night for them of course, and we did not get in until 9:30, and they were out of the food we originally ordered. I was completely wowed by the food anyway though! Completely delicious. I am vegetarian and was impressed by their options."

  • "My girlfriend and I went here for dinner for Valentine's day last week. We had a reservation for 7:30, walked up to the hostess and were immediately seated at our table. Our waiter immediately arrived asking what we would like to drink, and explained the special menu to us. We had a few questions about some of the options available, so she gave a very thorough description of all of the choices on the menu. Throughout the meal, the service was exceptional, the food was terrific, and the entire experience was perfect. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of dining here to give it a shot. You won't be disappointed."

  • "I went for Valentine's Day. I didn't know about the tasting menu, and it turned out to be a great surprise. It helped us try several different things on the menu, and the sharing element made the occasion feel more special. The food was very good and the service was attentive. Combined with a very good location and this is a place I'd be eager to return to sometime."

  • "Even though this is a chain restaurant its more than that. Its humble and personal with a large dose of ethnic diversity. Cheers, Ta, Fitman 1."

  • "We were familiar with the Lebanese Taverna Cafe in Annapolis but the restaurant is a whole other level. The food was excellent -- my husband and I are vegan and we had lots of great options. The hummus is the best and make sure that you try the pumpkin kibbeh and the arnabeet (cauliflower with tahini). The service was very friendly and professional as well."

  • "The service is excellent, lovely decor and delicious food. waitress answered all our questions; took the time to explain different foods. Service was swift but not rushed. I had the salmon with a tomato-cilantro sauce and bulgur pilaf that was moist, flavorful and a large serving. Four of us shared a sampler platter which was a nice way to test a variety of foods. The bread was brought to the table warm."

  • "Everyone in my party loved everything about our evening there. It was my daughter's birthday, and your restaurant was her first choice for our dinner party. Our server was wonderful. Excellent service and ambiance was wonderful. The bar area was nice, though cold where we were sitting due to being near the front door. Our server was great!"

  • "Fantastic experience. We dined early so our noise level might not be typical. Food was outstanding. Perfect place if you want a light meal or a full dinner. Try the sampler appetizers and then decide what you want to order for dinner. Will certainly be back."

  • "Enjoyed the hummos trio - the spicy hummos with tomato was very spicy. Braised lamb was moist and tasty. Loved the donuts for dessert. Server seemed a bit inexperienced, just average."

  • "The food was delicious. I had never had Lebanese inspired food before, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was just okay...our waitress forgot about us for almost 20 minutes! Therefore, we didn't get to order as quickly as we would have liked. All in all, a great place to dine."

  • "Great place for a business lunch. Nice atmosphere and very good food. It is very easy to have a conversation and parking is convenient."

  • "We went when restaurant opened and it was perfect for our four and two year old since they usually get rowdy 30 min in. There is backgammon table that keeps them occupied. The server was very accommodating."

  • "The food was average, nothing to rave about. The restaurant itself was nicely designed but it was quite loud. Had to speak up for others to here what I was saying. It took almost an hour to get our food. Not the worst, but definitely not the best."

  • "Dined on a Saturday afternoon while hosting in-laws. Mezze and small plates approach to the menu makes this a great spot for those who like a light lunch, while keeping prices reasonable enough that those with more appetite can double up on the mezze without breaking the bank. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon in Harbor East--must not be on the "hot list" for the brunch crowd, but makes this a relaxing choice for those who don't like to wait 45 min huddled in a cramped lobby for their brunch."

  • "We arrive on time with excitement to celebrate a birthday at a new restaurant for us. We stood at the entry as the hostess ignored us for five minutes as she was intently on her computer. We were the only couple standing there. Finally from across the bar, the bartender asked if he could help us. I told him we had reservations for 2. I appreciated his help. At out table, the waiter was unhelpful and could give us any suggestions about the menu. He couldn't even suggest signature drinks or entrees. I ordered a mojito and it was horrible. The best part of our meal was the appetizers. In addition I had mentioned it was a birthday celebration and it wasn't acknowledged. I was disappointed with the whole experience."

  • "The ambience and atmosphere is amazing! The sever was speaking in your face so close you could see her tonsils. We have a party of six and three of our meals were wrong and had to be sent back for correct food we ordered. Tables were not cleaned regularly which caused glasses and plates to pile up. I would not go back because of the rudeness and errors"

  • "I am half Lebanese so this is one of my favorite restaurants. Reminds me of my Grand Mothers cooking. Always a great meal with great service."

  • "My first time walking into the restaurant I was blown away from how many ppl was in the restaurant. That showed that it was a popular spot & the food & service was beyond wonderful. Everything was fresh, a very authentic middle eastern place. If u ever want to go out and have a nice romantic date or get a group of friends together and reminisce on the old times I would recommend Lebanese taverna. 10' s across the board from me"

  • "The waitress kept asking to remove our plates before we were done! Not sure why they had an attitude of rushing service even though half the tables were empty! The ambience is lovely and so e of the food items were great (hummus)."

  • "My wife and I went for the brunch on a Saturday morning, and got there before they opened up, so when they did, we were naturally the first. About 10 minutes into our stay there and lots and lots and lots of people started showing up from some conference that was going on around the neighborhood. Anyway, the service did slow down but VERY slightly, and yet the limited number of servers tried to keep up with almost everyone that was in the restaurant. Would have loved to spend New Years Eve here but found out too late that they were sold out for the late sitting. I would avoid ordering the potatoes for brunch as that's just floating on a layer of oil. But the Shakshouka is amazing, as are the roasted olives and the Warm Awamat (donuts)."

  • "The Lebanese Taverna is a wonderful restaurant. The entire staff is comprised of energetic server's who go out of their way to ensure the guess are taken care of and enjoy their dining experience. The food selection has enough variety to satisfy a large range of people and the meals are well priced. I would recommend this establishment for couples, families and small groups."

  • "My whole family went there for our first time for my mom's birthday. The food was great, the service was outstanding but the restaurant was way too loud. We couldn't even hear each other when just across the table. We will go back there but I don't recommend going there as a big group."
