  • "A great place to take your date and enjoy a quiet dinner, that is presented beautifully, and cooked to perfection."

  • "Sorry but Leathery's is just not good enough to warrant the tab. The $13.50 for a vanilla vodka on the rocks is really over the top."

  • "Wonderful restaurant! The food was excellent. Our waiter, Rick, at table 77 was excellent. I am a vegetarian and he was very helpful."

  • "We really enjoyed the themed prix fixe menu before seeing Mamma Mia. Our server was attentive and the food was great. I also really enjoyed the wine pairings. I would go back!"

  • "If you're planning a special evening at one of the Segerstrom Center's concert halls, this is a great place to fit in a special dinner as well - either before or after the performance. Love the fact that there is no corkage fee on wine."

  • "This was without a doubt the best dinner we have had at Leatherby's so far. I believe they have a new chef. The Sea Bream was delicious as was the Soft Egg Raviolo that I had as a first course. Leatherby's is so convenient for either of the Segerstrom halls and we have been many times. Although it has always been OK I always felt one got a better meal for the money elsewhere until now."

  • "Always fine for the pre-theater event. Scallops and Filet were excellent and service right on. Nice to have no-corkage fee so bring your favorite vino."

  • "Excellent place to go for dinner before going to a show at the Segerstrom Center. My elderly mother, who can walk about a block, was able to walk from dinner to the concert. And, the food was amazing! The lobster bisque was the best I've ever had and it had a unique twist too. The steak was the kind that you don't even need a sharp knife to cut. Everything from the martini to start to the ending cappuccino was excellent! My only suggestion is to go EARLY. The service got a bit iffy during the rush just before the show, but prior to that it was wonderful!"

  • "We only had one waiter for the entire restaurant. He did a great job but he had at least 8 tables he was working on. Makes no sense to have so few folks at the prices they charge for marginal food. Again, the waiter was great but he was over worked!"

  • "The only problem with my experience is there was only one person working at noon brunch. He was the greeter, serve,r waiter, bar tender, all in one, which in my opinion was too much for one person. In that regards he was great, but it was just too much for him seeing there was a performance at the Segerstrom at noon and people were dining before attending the performance."

  • "Excellent location if you are going to the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center. It is in the building. The chef is creative and the service is excellent"

  • "Reserved table by window 3 weeks in advance. Host attempted to seat us in the middle of the noisy room. Asked for a window table to enjoy the view, no, those were previously reserved. Decided on bar as opposed to table in center, they found another window table near entrance. ( the tables by window overlooking Segerstrom plaza didn't have guests during our 1.5 hr meal.) The waiter, however charming, brought out 2 guests entrees while the other 2 waited 45 minutes for theirs, field greens with salmon the other with chicken. The potential was there for a wonderful evening, food was simple, delicious although over priced. As much as we had been looking forward to the ambiance, the awkward timing of entrees was at the forefront."

  • "The fixed menu was delicious and the wine went nicely. Easy place to enjoy and the service and food was great."

  • "We enjoyed our time here before the theatre. Robin, our server, was very attentive to our needs. The Maitre D' was outstanding. He and Robin truly kept this night from going off the rails. The kitchen was having a difficult night. Our food arrived hot, but not as advertised on the menu; additional items came separately after noticing they were not plated. The table near us was having a very difficult time (not all of the restaurant's doing, either). There is a waiter who believes he is in a performance himself as he announces to no one in particular and the room in general, what he is doing or thinking as each moment passes. We'll give this restaurant another try as we really want to like it."

  • "We were particularly impressed with the quality of the menu selections and quality of the food. They were artfully prepared and delicious. The cauliflower soup garnished with date and chorizo was creamy without any cream and had a unique blend of earthy, sweet and spicy. Each course of my husband's three course prix fix dinner was equally as good and we commend the knowledge and friendliness of our waiter Christian. We will definitely go back to Leatherby's Café Rouge."

  • "A beautiful venue located in the Segerstrom Concert Hall building. We arrived about 10 minutes late, but had 75 minutes to show time. We told the waiter we were going to the show and he said it was no problem. We ordered within 5 minutes, ordering drinks at the same time. 10 minutes later we were served bread. 15 minutes after that, we got our appetizers (still no drinks). After we finished our appetizers, the drinks finally arrived with the comment, "the bartender is backed up." We waited another 15 minutes for the main course (very good but underwhelming portions for the price). We were able to leave with 5 minutes to spare, but felt rushed the finish the last course. Don't think we'll be back, even though we have season tickets."

  • "Excellent food at this pre theater restaurant. Every item we had from the beef tenderloin, scallops, and lobster bisque was cooked to perfection. The waitstaff service was the best I've ever had at a fine dining restaurant. Attentive, courteous, and friendly. Parker spaced out our meal so we were left with 10 mins to make it over to our show which was more than enough. Couldn't recommend Leatherby's more."

  • "We reserved through Open Table. Were seated next to the rest room exit although there were many unoccupied tables available in the restaurant throughout our meal. Next time we won't settle for cattle grade seating. Food was pricey, good - not exceptional. Service generally hap hazard. Saving grace is the location convience within the Center."

  • "You prepare and present wonderful cuisine, you provide wonderful service and are most friendly, and you get us to the concerts on time even though we are totally distracted and enjoying ourselves with friends! Excellent choice!"

  • "I had a reservation for 6:15 since I was attending the ballet at 7:30. The restaurant was catering mostly to the theater crowd and made sure that everyone was served and not rushed through their meal. The bar was full and lively. The restaurant is across from the Segerstrom theater, making it very convenient. I will be booking dinner with them when I return in May'"

  • "Went there last week before the ballet. Been there at least 5 times pre theatre. Made to feel unwelcome from the moment we stepped in. Waited for a better table a few minutes near the bar (we were told better tables were "reserved" but we had made reservations over two mos ago). Looked at the menu while waiting so we would be ready to order when we sat. We brought a bottle of wine for the first time. Although no corkage, wait staff clearly unhappy about it. Had to ask 3 times to get it opened. Food ok and overpriced. I had the pork osso buco, overcooked to the point that outside was inedible, Very tender and moist inside, but a lot of waste due to being charred. Husband had lamb, $42 for small slices of loin, not a an attractive dish."

  • "The waiter was great in presenting the menu. Up one delivering a course took time to speak about each. There was a serving that our waiter didn't bring to table & the server that did just mumbled the name of dish. Fortunately, the waiter came to table so we asked him about the dish. Thank you for enriching the evening."

  • "We love the Café Rouge. It is already a tradition that we go there for dinner before a night at the Opera or Concert Hall and it is always exceptionally good. For us it is the best Restaurant in Orange County."

  • "Our dining experience at Leatherby's was overall outstanding. The waiter was patient and helpful. The dinner was very good and I loved that it had a "theme". Dessert was too small to share, but it was delicious. Only drawback was that the person that delivered the appetizer to the table didn't know who got what... and we weren't sure because we had never heard of the appetizers that they offer. We will definitely go back."

  • "This is the first time I've had brunch there before a concert. Dinners have always been outstanding but, in my opinion, the brunch menu doesn't measure up. The food, presentation etc. was unimaginative!"

  • "We were dining here for the first time and it won't be our last! The menu items were named to reflect the show we had just seen, which was a clever surprise! The service was impeccable and staff, very charming. An all around wonderful experience! My family in Indiana made the reservations as a surprise for my husband and I to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant took the time to make our evening extra special by taking note that we would be there for my birthday and added an extra special surprise for dessert. This made my family not so far away for that moment and allowed them to surprise me all the way from Indiana! They chose a wonderful place for us and I know where we will be taking them on their next trip to California!"

  • "This is a wonderful spot to enjoy dinner before going to a show at SCR or Segerstrom especially if you want to make the night extra special. The food was timed based on the start of your specific show and was most wonderful. From the cocktails and appetizers to the main course and dessert we enjoyed all aspects of the food. The service was also first rate. I hope we’ll be able to come back soon!"

  • "We went here before seeing wizard of Oz...The food was pretty good, aside from getting the medium rare steak that was for my wife and not realizing she got my medium well steak till a ways into the meal. The waiter was nice but was pretty busy and we had to flag down someone else in order to get additional drinks. Would probably return even for another event."

  • "This was our 1st time here, and not so impressed with the quality of the food. With prices compared to many of the local Steak/Seafood 5 star locations, the quality of our steaks and sizes of portions did not live up to the ticket price were paid. The menu choices were dismal, and again the cost was way over priced. The service was great!"

  • "We go to the theater and this place is the bomb. NO CORKAGE LET ME REPEAT NO CORKAGE. Keep it up Leatherby's. Love the food, the staff and the great location. We will be back."

  • "From the moment you are graciously greeted at the door until you leave for the theater, you will have a wonderful dining experience. The setting is lovely, the food always excellent and the service is professional, especially if you ask for Andy. There are some changing pre fixe menus as well as ala carte. All the food items are inventive and wonderfully executed. The ambiance is smart and upscale. The booths are very romantic. This venue is open when there are concerts in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom concert Hall and events at PAC . The Venues' valet parking is $10 if you dine here. Nice view overlooking the Plaza too. They can be relied upon to get you to your event on time. Free corkage!"

  • "the filet, which was strongly recommended to us by our server "rick" as being "the best filet you will ever eat" was not even close. i believe i was served u.s.d.a. "choice" but charged for "prime". my cocktail glass sat empty at the edge of the table as "rick" passed it by repeatedly. the lobster bisque would have been fantastic if not for the raw bitter vegetable hay stack the chef chose to top this dish. finally, the desert menu was so limited in scope and nature we opted out even though the three of us were still hungry. my wife loved her sea scallops but did not care at all for her vegetable soup nor the bread provided with dinner. 3 people, no wine, no desert, ONE cocktail, three cokes, soups and entree's...... $205.00 before tip."
