Le YacaSURPRISEDWe were pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativeness of the menu. It was terrific....from soup and salad to dessert.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent - - was our niteExcellent - - was our nite to choose and we done good !!!!!(sic)5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLadies lunchWonderful place to gather with some old friends to catch up and enjoy a great lunch at the same time!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLe YacaI've always loved this restaurant, even though it's expensive. The restaurant is elegant, yet not stuffy, and it's a good place to go for a special occasion. For my most recent experience, the service was very good and the food was excellent. My only complaint is that the food portions are skimpy compared to the prices.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experienceThe food is beyond excellent. High quality ingredients, spot-on preparation. From the appetizers to dessert, each bite was pure flavor. Foodies do not want to miss this opportunity.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice dining experience...We had never eaten here and I took the advice of trip advisor to give it a try. We were warmly greeted at the door and shown to a lovely quiet corner table. Our server was outstanding. It was quite busy because it was William & Mary graduation weekend. Our food was good (filet & lobster). All in all, a very nice meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently superb.Le Yaca offers a consistently superb dining experience. The quality of food and service is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is elegant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice Mothers Day lunchWe sat in the back room which was fairly noisy but not so that we couldn't talk to each other. The restaurant was busy, the waitstaff was patient with our table. The food was fantastic - they had a set menu for Mother's Day which made it easy for us to pick. The French onion soup, asparagus soup (in season), halibut, and steak were all big hits at our table!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMcelebrationWe went for Mother's Day and were treated like old friends.
Good service and great food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench CharmerWe chose this restaurant for a special occasion sight unseen based upon user comments. We were not disappointed. The shopping center locale belies the elegance inside, but once through the door, this restaurant is special. Food is excellent and locally sourced, service is quiet and efficient, and the hostess/propritoress is welcoming and charming. We thouroughly enjoyed our evening at Le Yaca!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of the Way TreasureLe Yaca Is a quality restaurant with great food and service.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLe Yaca for Special OccasionFamily of four enjoyed this restaurant for college graduation celebration on Mother's Day weekend. The service was superb. The meals, dessert, salad and soup were very good - nice presentation, cooked as requested. We were seated in a side room which was very comfortable and quiet. Definitely would recommend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDessert was awesome, but,,,I ordered seafood and the shrimp smelled like it smelled like it was saturated with bleach. It smelled pretty bad. I don't recommend anyone to order seafood.
The best part was dessert. All the dessert we ordered (total of 8)were all good.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favoritesWe always stop in when in Williamsburg. The owner is friendly, personable, gave us great wine recommendations( as usual). Has maintained high standards and consistancy over years. We'll be back!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food. Classic FrenchAwesome food. Classic French winners like the baquette, union soup and escargots were fabulous. Everything else was simply very good except for the sole. A little rubbery, where these need to be very fresh. Location is wierd, but we were told they will move soon. Hopefully they find a place closer to old town, so you can scrawl a little after dinner...5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming restaurantLe Yaca is a lovely restaurant with delicious food. Everything on the menu is wonderful. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance is elegant, marred only by the inappropriate attire of guests wearing T-shirts and jeans.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ExcellentOver the years we have eaten here many times a year. We went here 10 years ago for a surprise birthday party for my mom. This year it was for an early mother's day dinner. It is always perfect. The food, the service, the whole package. We always know dining at Le Yaca will be a memorable and enjoyable experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMIt would have been nice ifIt would have been nice if the Hostess would have greeted us with a smile and a welcome. Maybe she was just having a Bad day. The food was great as usual. Nobody knew anything about their wines and selection by the glass was lacking. We had noted it was an Anniversary on your notes, but they did not bring it up. This restaurant has been great for many years, but I am afriaid the ownership maybe are getting"tired".5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistenly SpectacularMy fiance and I dined at Williamsburg's lovely Le Yaca restaurant for the fourth time this past week and, once again, it exceeded our already high expectations. It is one of our top three favorites, across the country. We're already looking forward to the next experience!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated Mom's 90th Birthday.Celebrated Mom's 90th Birthday. It was great, she felt like a queen5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, even on LPGA weekend!!We had relatives in from North Dakota and Utah for the LPGA weekend, and took a big group (7) here for dinner as its our favorite spot.. Even with a totally full house given it was Saturday of the Kngsmill LPGA tournament, the food was as wonderful as ever, esp the special halibut... And excellent service as ever from everyone on the staff.. Cannot recommend Le Yaca enough, but do reserve far in advance for groups and busy weekends..5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite Williamsburg restaurantLe Yaca is my go-to restaurant for a nice lunch or dinner. Lunch especially is a relatively reasonable deal for the quality of food. There is a 3 course $17 menu with 3 or so choices per course. But the full menu items also come with either an excellent simple greens salad, French onion soup, or the day's soup, plus excellent crusty bread (with soft butter - a nice touch). Quite a few choices of wine available by the glass for reasonable prices. Portions are typically French which is to say somewhat small, but given the quality of the food and the soup/salad/bread, entirely satisfying. One minor note - the usual hostess who I believe is the owner can be also a little brusque. Servers are very nice.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingRack if lamb on Thursday night was wonderful. The smell of the lamb cooking in the open pit was fabulous. Prux fixe menu is a great deal.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional - Williamsburg's FinestOnce again we had an incredible meal at Le Yaca. We, along with so many others, consider Le Yaca to be the finest restaurant in Williamsburg. We celebrated the birthday of a friend and had delicious meals from start to finish. Service by our favorite waiter, Mingh, was exceptional. Everything the chef prepares is superb. You cannot go wrong dining at Le Yaca. Their pureed onion soup is a must have. The bread is incredible and is always hot out of the oven.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe twin tenderloins, rockfishThe twin tenderloins, rockfish special, oyster rockefeller like appetizer and grand Marnier souffle were all cooked perfectly. Dennis, the waiter, was very attentitive when appropriate. A guitarist played in the background very nice play list. Ambiance was quiet and very plesant. One of if not the finest places to eat in this area. They will be moving to a new location in August or September 2013.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLe Yaca is consistently theLe Yaca is consistently the best restaurant in Williamsburg. You don't find anything in Virginia south of the NoVa area that can even compare. It is a true 5 star business with first-rate service, food, and hospitality. The staff appears to have been trained in a Michelin-star rated Paris restaurant, and the food is incredible beyond all description.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been to Le Yaca forWe've been to Le Yaca for celebrations such as anniversaries or birthdays, and it never disappoints! It's such a lovely space with special touches that make it just right.
I ordered from the "Le Yaca" three-course menu, choosing the French onion soup, the fresh fish of the day - it was a pan-seared halibut - and the lemon mousse with fresh berries and raspberry coulis. My husband started with escargot (I tried one and it was delicious), and also had French onion soup. For his main, he had the shelled twin lobster tails, and enjoyed an after-dinner brandy Alexander. The food was all superb, and the delivery was perfectly paced. Our waiter helped us choose a bottle of wine, and the voignier went well with both entrees.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLeYaca is a fantastic restaurant.LeYaca is a fantastic restaurant. Virginia Beach VA4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA true French epicurean experienceA true French epicurean experience that rivals some of the best French restaurants that I have frequented around the country and even in France. A five star gem. A must visit when in Williamburg. You will not be disappointed.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a bit apprehensiveWe were a bit apprehensive when we found the restaurant in a "village style" retail outlet, but we were delighted by our experience. The atmosphere was contemporary and very comfortable. The service was attentive, but not hovering. Our table enjoyed selections from the fixed price menu. The broccoli pureed soup was delicate and velvety. And the pureed french onion soup was a wonderfully unique presentation of a classic. The entree of Alaskan halibut with spring vegetable medley was light and flavorful. The evening was rounded out with a beautifully presented apple tart with vanilla ice cream while my dining partner had a surprisingly light chocolate molten cake. We will definitely seek out Le Yaka on our next visit to Williamsburg!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is wonderful andThe food is wonderful and so is the staff! The restaurant is moving in September to a new shopping area just of HWY 60 near downtown Williamsburg. We can not wait.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother fine dining experienceAs always Le Yaca was a delight. The dover sole and bouillabaisse were terrific. The soup of the day was a lovely, light vegetable just perfect for a spring evening. The bouillabaisse was a special treat featuring fresh seafood, expertly cooked with a light broth. If you order it - do not eat bread while awaiting your entree - save it to "sop up the delicious juices." We savor Le Yaca and are looking forward to many future years of fine French dining here in Williamsburg.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, Le Yaca was great. As always, Le Yaca was great.
