A word from Le Vigne at Montaluce Winery
Food culture is very important to the kitchen at Le Vigne Restaurant, more specifically, local food culture. We believe that food and the sharing of food builds community, especially if the food and wine that is shared is rooted within the community.That is why we not only produce wine from grapes grown in our own vineyard, but grow produce in our own organic garden on the property. What we don’t produce ourselves, we source from the local farms. We want to be able to provide our guests with local, sustainable foods as well as provide the local artisans and farmers an outlet for their hard work. At the beautiful Le Vigne Restaurant, situated high above the vineyards, guests will discover a dedication to honoring the flavors of our region throughout each of the four seasons in a menu that changes regularly to reflect the best of what is available.   • "Finally took a trip to the Georgia Winery and was pleasantly surprised. Tasted 5 wines and they were pretty good. We ate dinner after our tasting which by the way was comped because of all the crazies that were there for the highway wine tasting, wouldn't recommend going during that time because it brings out "Georgias finest". The service in the restaurant was great and the wait staff was so knowledgeable about every dish. Food was great, just very small portions. Dessert was just okay and more about presentation that anything. Every member of our party said they would order the same thing again, scallops, short ribs, brunswick stew, butternut squash soup...yummy! All in all a great experience"

  • "I booked a reservation on Fri at 1130am, for a party of 4..I had been there before, but my guests had not. The lunch menu is very pricey. The food pricey as it was, was fantastic. The wait service lacked very very much, we had to ask for bread and olive oil, since the food did take a lot of time. There was only 2 other people there besides us. We saw our waiter once, and had to ''flag down'', another waiter for refills, which I did not like..We never saw our waiter to ask us''if we enjoyed the food'', any comments or complaints, etc. I even had to flag down the waiter for my check..He was busy with other diners..I tipped well, for the food not service I received. Its a beautiful place but will not go back....."

  • "It was my birthday on Saturday and i choose to come to the resturant with my family. I wanted a later time but was told 5:30 was the only availablility and the entire time we were there, we were close to the only ones dining inside. Plenty of tables all the way up to the time we left (8:00). They added at 21% gratuity to my 7 person party. 21% is NOT customary and we were truly offended by it. I think you should only add a gratuity when very busy anyway but adding 21% and the resturant was not full or busy was just rude!!! The service was slow. The entrees were good. Desserts could have improvement, my son ate the moose and it was too frozen to eat."

  • "Nice place and the cheese entrees' are excellent along with the in house wines. The service is the same all over Dahlonega, students trying to be servers at a restaurant that charges Atlanta prices and then some but fails in the details. Kids are nice and they try hard but it appears there is no direction or oversight as to the details of serving as a professional waiter. No appearance of an active "on the floor" manager or maitre'd who would attend to such matters. The lamb chop and Beef rib were excellent.............."

  • "We chose Montaluce for a birthday dinner - not really much competition in this area, but the combination of genuinely gourmet food, a lovely expansive view, pleasant service and indoor/outdoor possibilities put this restaurant in its own category. Love it!"

  • "We liked our small plates, presentation was pretty creative, unusual combos were good. Tasty and interesting appetizer. Smoking the salmon at the table was a little showy, but nothing compared to the co2 canister used on both of our desserts. That was just excessively gimmicky to us regular folks. The chocolate mousse was strange and difficult to eat. That said, we will definitely dine here again, and overall, loved it!"

Exec Chef Austin prepares, presents and serves each item on the menu with a deliberate goal: Customer satisfaction. Although there is lite american fare for someone stopping in for a sandwich or burger I would remind them to return and try something a little more serious or fun. Great selection of wines that I have used for gifts since my first visit. There are other wineries and restaurants in the area. However if you need some romantic time or a special time with your spouse this should be your choice. Cheers!"

  • "Very expensive for just fair food. The wines were very good, as was the dessert, and the service was very attentive. The other courses were fair to unpleasant. The lamb was very chewy, to the point of not being chewable. (Squid ink risotto that turns your mouth black is also not very romantic.)"

However, if you're looking for a "plate full of food" this is NOT the place for you. The portions are very small, but the quality is excellent. The wine and scenery looking out over the vineyard is outstanding. It's a little pricey as well, so don't expect a "good deal" here - you are paying for the quality of food prepared by a real chef with excellent ambiance!"

  • "We love this restaurant and have eaten their several times. Our Daughter got married there and we have always had an excellent experience but our dinner this past Friday night(Valentine's Day) was horrible. The menu should have had more choices. It was a pre-set menu and was not for everyones palet. It was $100.00 a piece with the wine pairing....we had 8 people so you are talking with tip almost $1,000.00 for our table and no one really liked their food. We actually had to eat when we got home because we were starving. We were told when we made our reservation that the menu would be posted on the website but we never saw it. Very, very disappointed."

  • "What a discovery and nestled in the North GA Mountains, 55 miles north of where you would expect to get such a great meal! I love the the great cheezes (English Shropshire with Halopena Jelly) followed by an ubelivable flavor induced entre with recommended wine pairings (Love the Stella!). You can tell the chef has tremendous experience and has trained his people well, as we dined there one evening when he was on vacation and it was excellent (Found out about the vacation when I wanted to think the Chef)."

Had a window seat with great view, wonderful food and presentation was incredible....Frozen mousse with cocoa bubbles and smoked salmon that actually smoked! Also happened to take another friend for a wine/cheese sampling lately on a Sunday afternoon and that was wonderful also. Thanks !!"

Le Vigne is my favorite place to take family and friends for special occasions. I have never been disappointed with the food, the service, or the view. Starting off w/ a glass of 2012 MONTALUCE, SUPER GEORGIAN, a unique and tasteful blend, was a fabulous choice. Cheese starters were : DRUNKEN GOAT, MURCIA, SP MIXED BERRY COMPOTE, & ENGLISH SHROPSHIRE, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, EN JALAPENO JELLY. Next BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP TOASTED PUMPKIN SEED, BLIS MAPLE SYRUP.-Excellent! Next LE VIGNE SMOKED SALMON w/ HOUSE CREME FRAICHE, WHIPPED GOAT CHEESE, SMOKED LOCAL BLUEBERRY, PICKLED OKRA. The presentations of this is something you must see! Don't miss this jewel tucked away in the beauty of the mountains in N. GA!"

  • "We 've been to Le Vigne at least half a dozen times over the past 2 years. It is our Go-To restaurant for out of town guests visiting us in the north Georgia mountains. Today, we were disappointed. Their timing and service were off, way, way off. We arrived 10 minutes early for a 1:30 reservation and waited more than 30 minutes, well past the time of our reservation. Shortly after we arrived, a party arrived 50 MINUTES LATE for their reservation and they were seated immediately. Just wrong. Our server started out good and the food and atmosphere were excellent as usual, but as the meal wore on, she became less and less attentive. We left without ordering dessert out of sheer frustration. Hopefully this is an isolated incident."

  • "Book a brunch or dinner table at Montaluce. Choose thoughtfully comfortable or rippingly new dishes; they do not disappoint. Staff is poised and experienced, the sous chef actually visited our table for a chat, and the wine list is nicely rounded. Describing food is pointless because everyone's taste differs, literally, but Montaluce's presentation and execution rank with fine New York and San Francisco venues. I would not hesitate to bring a group as these kids cut their teeth on events; I would expect smooth delivery."

  • "I brought my wife here for a romantic birthday dinner. We came for the 2pm tour on Saturday and then sampled all the wines at their tasting bar. We came back for a 5:30pm dinner reservation and had fantastic service and food. It is a bit pricey for dinner, but this is a boutique winery. I can't wait to come back again."

  • "Right out of Napa Valley, CA. Beautiful setting overlooking the vineyards. Classic architecture and relaxed atmosphere. The rabbit and lamb were tasty and served with veggies grown on the vineyard grounds. Had a tasting of all white wines. Do not compare to Napa, but definitely done right. It was a fun, relaxing time, and dessert was wonderful."

  • "We have been to other wineries in Georgia and this one was by far our favorite. The food and the ambience was great even thought it was a rainy day. The place is elegant yet cozy. From the apps to the main entree this place really surprised us. Only issue was that the 2nd course came out too quick while we were still eating the 1st. Next time we will just wait and order until we are almost done with each course. We will definitely will be back on a sunny day."
