  • "New chef owner has upgraded an old favorite. People will still recognized the basic menu, but with new additions and some familiar items prepared differently. Wine list is not large, but great variety and priced very fairly. Single wine pours are more than generous. The escargot was beyond wonderful. Nice specials add to what is already a very good menu."

  • "This was our second time dining at Le Vieux Logis since the new chef took over. We were fans of his from when he was at Praline. The our main courses were absolutely delicious. We ordered the skatefish and the lamb shank. Both were excellent- this chef really knows his stuff. The dishes were so nicely seasoned and the sauces were so light and delicate. We started with oysters, which were good and we ordered a souffle of exotic fruits, which was an unexpected treat. We will return soon."

  • "We went based upon positive reviews. This would have been an ok meal at half the price. Paper placemats with a Seasons Greeting theme the first week of February was out first clue. Onion soup was weak and undistinguished. Service was hit or miss. I ordered a second glass of wine mid way through the meal, never received it, but was charged for it. Food was mediocre at best. My guess is that the owner is selling and has lost interest in pleasing his / her clientele."

  • "This is a quiet restaurant, nice for those of us who wish to talk with our companions rather than dine in deafening silence. It also used to have very fine food. Recent meals have been an attempt at the 'foodie' style of serving dinner as if it were an architectural structure, with everything piled on top of everything else. Tastes are smooshed, not blended, and nothing is as good as it was. Not likely to return."

  • "My wife and I and our good friends celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary at the Le Vieux Logia. This was our first time at this restaurant and I chose it based on its reputation for food and ambiance. I was not disappointed. Everything was as expected for this fine dinning restaurant. Service could have been a bit more attentive, but the food and portion size more than made up for the slow service. We will return!"

  • "We had dinner there on Friday for the first time in 20 years. It has changed little since. The service was very good and the staff was very helpful in answering questions we had about the menu. The menu offers lots of variety, and our meals arrived quickly after ordering. I ordered Dover Sole meuniere, which was not what I was expecting. The fish was overcooked, the meuniere sauce was really just melted butter- not clarified, and the lemon was on the side instead of in the sauce. The parsley was also on the side- sort of a DIY meuniere. I'd had this same dish several times at La Chaumiere and loved it. Oh well. The menu needs updating, especially the desserts. The service was quite good, though."

  • "I had been wanting to go to Le Vieux Logis for a while now. We finally went, and it certainly exceeded my expectations! It is now my new favorite place in the entire DC Metropolitan area. The place is even cuter and cozier on the inside than on the outside (and it is pretty darn cute from the outside!). Words are not enough to express just how cute and cozy it is! And the food did not disappoint either. We started with the French onion soup, which was really delicious. I then had the Australian lamb chops, which were honestly the best lamb chops I have ever had in the U.S. - hands down! My husband had the duck, which was a bit dry for my taste, but was still very good, nonetheless. The service was courteous and attentive. We will be back!"

  • "A very quaint French restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was good. The hostess could use a little training in customer service and not be so rude when someone asks a question about the parking situation which is misleading at the start. We mentioned in the beginning that one of our diners had allergies and they were able to accommodate a different sauce for his meal, but when we ordered dessert, we were not told that there was nuts in the ice cream and almost had a medical issue on our hands. A little advice would be to train the waiters/waitresses regarding food allergies."

Sarah is the most wonderful server--has good suggestions, paces the meal well, and makes the dining experience extra special. The pour at the restaurant's bar is very generous, and results in a DIVINE Stoli martini. Great neighborhood spot with top notch food, service and ambience. Convenient valet parking on site makes this a slam dunk!"
