Le St. TropezGreat Mother's Day experienceDinner for Mother's Day hit the spot! Informal yet special, not stuffy. Attentive staff, authentic french menu selection, nice atmosphere. Duck w/brandies cherries divine. Osso bucco good, polenta better. Great soufflés! Kids liked their food, but better were the Tintin books delivered tableside upon arrived. Kids entertained, almost too much so, my oldest barely raised his head from reading - but they were happy, and we had a relaxed meal and my spouse enjoyed his food too! Rare that all four of us are satisfied like that, we kinda think of Carmel as a mix of hokey/touristy. This restaurant stays true to their French theme, but it ended up totally working for them and for us! Recommend to locals and visitors and we will dine there again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for gluten free! AlmostGreat for gluten free! Almost their entire menu is available GF. Even brought complimentary GF bread basket to my guest who was a GF diner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great RestaurantSecond visit. This time we went before a Sunset Center event. The food was excellent. The waiter was cheerful, appropriate, and took good care of us. The Maitre'd found us a table that suited us perfectly. I had the chicken for the second time which was again excellent. My friend had a salad as he had a late lunch which was excellent and ate some of my chicken. The chicken was uniquely prepared. I cannot recount the detail unfortunately. It is the only chicken dish on the menu.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgood value for a fine dininggood value for a fine dining venue in Carmel. Our Rhone wine choice was sold out, which was replaced by an even better wine at the same price (much appreciated!) Decor was right out of places we've visited in Nice and Avignon, and the experience did not disappoint.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA small quant French designA small quant French design restaurant in downtown Carmel. I found it to be so wonderful because we went early for dinner, 5:00 pm and no one was there yet, so we got individual and attentive service. Of course we got the best seats in the house, next to the window to look out at the busy street life. It was quiet and decorated in French style with colorful yellow and blue table clothes. Because I can't talk loudly, I am always attracted to restaurants that don't have a lot of noise and chatter going on all around you. We had a nice glass of wine to compliment our meal, and we both loved our meals. Recommend going there, as even my husband who is hard to please, liked this place.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
