A word from Le Rouge Wine Bar & Tapas
"My concept for Le Rouge is to bring the essence of European casual lifestyle to Orlando. Many of you may know, Le Rouge is the French word for the colour red, which is often associated with the word passion. One thing I know and love about Europe is.... Passion for Life, Friends, Wine and Food. We have combined our experience and success in creating casual environments for you to savor our collection of cheese and charcuterie. Explore new cultures through the different flavours in our lounge atmosphere, all focused on comfort, intimacy and warmth. I look forward to seeing you at Le Rouge, where we will know your name, welcome your friends, serve you outstanding wines and beers from around the world and pair it all with good, simple food." - MounirContinued

Diner Reviews
  • "Le Rouge is a long and narrow space, with comfy chairs for sharing a glass of wine up front, while tables line the wall parallel to the bar. It was a quiet Sunday evening. Service was attentive, and the food was very good. Noise level was moderate, and there was a TV playing over the bar. We ordered a few different glasses of wine, and five or six plates throughout the evening. Flavors and presentation were impeccable, and I'd happily recommend friends to this location if they were staying in Orlando."

  • "Had been here before great service and atmosphere. Returned this trip all the great white couches were piled in a corner. No more great wine flights either. It was very quiet few tables filled we had a waiter who just was so unpleasant it was an effort for him to wait on us. Food was very good by surly waiter ruined the night."

I had a reservation for vday of 2014 and i called in at 753pm to let then know i was running late dur to traffic and would be there at 825 i could not hear anything. My reservation was set for 815 after trying to get to the person on the line to inform then of my late and getting no where due to outrageous noise in he back ground i get there to undertsand why the person could not hear me hey had a"

  • "Overall great ambiance and good food. Wine list complemented the food but expected a larger selection from a 'wine bar.' Will come back."

  • "The food, the ambience, the wine... It all came together perfectly at this little out of the way gem. From the excellent knowledge of our hostess to the sublime taste of the food, we were wowed! Their signature Truffle Mac and Cheese is delectable and the Ahi Tuna Tartare with red onions, jalapenos, soy, sriracha, avocado puree was out of this world. We also had the Escargots Bourguignon, the Wild Mushrooms with fresh herbs and garlic and the Lamb Chops with Parsnips puree. My friend had the wine pairings which were very well thought out and a flight of white wine satisfied my taste buds quite nicely. Friendly atmosphere, comfy couches and a welcome from locals made the experience one we look forward to having again on our next trip."

  • "I was at LeRouge in December with my husband, and enjoyed the food so much (the 3 course pairing was fantastic); my girlfriends and I were in Orlando for the Disney Princess Half-Marathon and we HAD to make LeRouge the first evenings' meal.....it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic, terrific wine pairings, and knowledgeable staff. We also got an extra portion of the phenomenal truffle mac and cheese............it is an absolute must try!"

  • "Had an excellent time there with friends on Valentines Day. The food was amazing, small portions but that's tapas for you! They had live music that night, not hardcore rock and roll, more like Frank Sinatra. The service was excellent and they worked with us since they only had a Special running that day. I highly recommend Le Rouge."

  • "Go for the truffle mac and cheese, keep going for the... truffle mac and cheese. That isn't to say that other unique items (Escargot Bourginon, for example) are not equally fantastic -- many of the dishes are not traditional tapas items, but they are incredibly flavorful and the "small" portions very satisfying. The restaurant itself is very tiny and intimate, and at the time we dined, uncrowded, which allowed for excellent service. While the price might keep me from going back regularly--a bottle of wine and modest tapas for two will run about $80--I would certainly recommend it about all the other tapas bars to which I have been, simple for the experience."

  • "Went on Saturday night with a group of 4. We had a really nice time, and the food was great. They reduced the size of their menu and simplified it. It made it much easier to choose the food we wanted and were not overwhelmed like we have been in the past. The tuna tartare was really tasty!"

  • "Kind of misleading that this is a restaurant. The size is pretty small, good setup to hang out and have drinks. Not the best place to go have a meal."

  • "The food was pretty good, especially the truffle mac and cheese. Only complaint is that the service was kind of off, I didn't get my entree until after my boyfriend had finished his."

  • "i was initially attracted by the ambiance and menu of the restaurant. The service was good. The menu looked ok, a bit outdated, but the tapas composition of ingredients seemed appealing. The quality and preparation of the food were horrible. I ordered pork belly and it came out as if it soft. I told the manager and he brought me another one, this one was cooked some more but was still improperly cooked. I was extremely disappointed. The corn that came with my (tiny) seared scallops was clearly frozen corn - disappointing. My fiancee's tuna sliders were fresh and very tasty - by far the best thing we ordered. The wine was the only thing which kept me from not complaining about everything to the point that it would have ruined my tim"

  • "The restaurant had a saxophone player by the front door. We were seated in the back and the noise from the sax player was overwhelming horrendous. I had to cover my ears several times. If this guy is playing go someplace else. The tapas were not original and poorly prepared. Scallops we had were tough and over cooked. As I sit here to write a review I can not remember the other items we had. That is because I have tried to put it out of my mind. Terrible is all I can say..."

  • "This was the second time we've been to LeRouge, and we will definitely go back. The wine list is fantastic, and the small plate choices are terrific. We had a cheese & meat platter, chicken panini, garlic shrimp, and mac n cheese. They all tasted great, and there was enough to go around for 4 of us. What was not so good? The strawberry cheesecake. What made up for it? Our fantastic wine flights:)"

  • "My second visit to Le Rouge and it was every bit as spectacular as the first. The food is stunningly good and the small plates are just the right size to focus the palate and concentrate the flavors. And the wine list is just outstanding with great selections from top to bottom. Le Rouge is rapidly becoming my favorite place when visiting Orlando, and very conveniently located, too."

  • "More of a bar than a sit down restAurant. Food was good and wine list was great as one would expect. Waitresses seemed preoccupied and the in-house entertainment was ... Mediocre. Would be a better place for groups of friends to meet up at after work. Decor was very urban and chic."

  • "enjoyed this wine tapas bar, very nice and welcoming. Food is also very good, we had the crabcake sliders, beet salad mussels and a crostini with tomatoe and basil. Everything we had was great and all the food we saw being served looked great as well."

  • "Wonderful food selections as well as wine and beer. Very engaging staff. As a new restaurant (just 6 months in business), we hope the locals catch on to keep it in business. It is off the tourist radar and definitely worth a try."

  • "We had a poor experience with the service, but I think they were overwhelmed by the conference in town and weren't prepared. On a regular night, I am sure it would be much better. Great wine, food is delicious."

  • "Went to Le Rouge with a group for a business dinner and was completely blow away by the food. When we first walked in we were a bit worried since there were not many people there but it proved to be the highlight of our visit to Orlando for a conference. The group we took talked about how it was for days!"

  • "It's great to finally have a tapas spot in Dr. Phillips. The menu has enough breadth to make the meal interesting, though some dishes surpass expectations while others fall well short (pork belly with roasted apple and pickled jalepeno should never be bland). The sauteed spinach with pine nuts and currants was steller, while the asapargus au'gratin was all asparagus and no cheese (also wasn't hot when served, was warm/sitting). The pan con tomate was steller, and the goat cheese that shows up in several dishes is textural and flavorful perfection. The desserts (nutela sandwich and gelatos/sorbets were stellar. Service was friendly and attentive, though timing was a repeat issue. Woth a repeat visit, but it needs to better prove value."

  • "Great ambiance, live music, good food. Tapas style dishes is great allowing us to try different things in the menu without overindulging. Definitely try the truffle mac and cheese, it was delicious! The crowd is mid 30s and up, and it looked like mostly locals. It worked for us the fact that they were open until 2am since we flew in so late. The service was good, knowledgable of the menu, and the wine selection, although not extensive, it was good, the wine we requested wasnt available but the suggestion by the owner was surprisingly delightful."

  • "What a find! The food was fabulous, as was the superb selection of wines. It'll be a permanent fixture on my must-visit list in Orlando. Just outstanding - as good as I've found in Orlando."

  • "We really enjoyed our visit. Food was exceptional. Service was excellent. The live music was the only shortcoming and we would have preferred the music that was on when he took a break. We will be back and hope to have another great experience. Oh, the wine was very good and reasonably priced."

  • "Not 100% typical Spanish Tapas, but excellent small plate based menu offering innovative tastes. Probably $100 for party of two with two glasses of wine each, and 4-6 dishes to share. The wait staff and kitchen did an excellent job of modifying a couple of dishes to remove any dairy contents, due to my wife's lactose intolerance."

  • "This place was great. We dined on the early side, so had the inside area to ourselves. Our waiter was helpful and attentive, and the food was delicious. Crab cake sliders, goat cheese crostini and mac and cheese are all worth a try."

  • "We were there too early (8p) to note whether there was a bar scene or if it was a hot spot. However, it started filling fast as we were leaving so I would assume it was. The food was very good and we had a nice time. Of the six restaurants we visited while in Orlando this was our second favorite."

  • "My mother and I were looking for a great restaurant and luckly stubled across this gem. From the second I entered the restaurant I knew it was going to be a fun night. The decor of the restaurant was plush and chic and there was a live DJ in the corner, however the Dj was not playing the music too loudly. The food was so amazing, everything i put in my mouth was the best I have ever tasted, and I have tasted some pretty amazing food from all over the world. My Mother and I ordered the 6 tapas dishes with 6 wine pairings, which was totaly worth the $75. The wine master and chef choose your food and wine for you, and let me tell you they didn't disappoint. However, the service was the most outstanding. By far the best I have ever had."

  • "Le Rouge is a nice little place with great food and wine, but the service was lacking (granted, it was a busy Friday night). We were seated in a timely manner, but waited a while for a waiter to serve us. Our food was slow to come out; we had to ask about one of our main dinner items. After asking, it came out quickly. As for volume, it was also difficult to talk over the loud live music but was reasonable in between sets. Despite the disorganized service, the food and wine was fantastic. The restaurant is very posh and presents itself as a chic, modern establishment. I would go back, but probably not on a weekend night."

  • "We went for the tapas and we were not dissappointed. They have a great selection and the prices were very reasonable. We felt this was more of a bar than a restaurant. It was a bit noisy at first for this senior couple ( I think this was a younger crowd spot) but soon we adjusted with the good service, friendly waitress and guitar music, right next to our table. We spent over 2 hours and enjoyed every minute."

  • "We prefer to frequent independently owned restaurants, as we like to support our community directly. We also have discriminating tastes. Le Rouge is a local restaurant, independently owned, that we will be recommending to everyone. The decor is trendy and unique. The wine list is extensive, and the proprietors are true oenophiles, capable of making great recommendations. They are also very attentive. The food? Well, the food left us almost speechless. The Black Truffle Mac n' Cheese is a must, but then again, everything we tried is a must. This makes us think that we should ultimately try everything on the menu, so we'll be back over and over again to do just that."

  • "Wow this was a great find for those of us who love wine and don't want to eat big, heavy meals. The tapas are excellent. We tried the ahi tuna appetizer and a cheese/meat selection which was just right. We were in town for just a couple of days but not looking forward to the standard, chain restaurant fare available in Orlando. Le Rouge was a welcome experience. We will be back next time we are in town."

  • "Great spot! Not the typical Orlando restaurant in terms of ambiance and food. A very nice change. And the food is really good. The ahi sliders and mac & cheese are to die for! Service was excellent. And of course, great wine selection - lots of varied types and prices. My only recommendation would to do wine tasting flights so that you have the opportunity to try more when you are there."

  • "Great for tapas and small bites. Overly eager service was a bit much for us. We prefer a more laid back staff but they were very friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the crostini with fig preserve manchego cheese and the crab cake sliders. The main bar was very loud so not ideal for a meeting spot. Low romantic lighting was a lovely touch though."
