Le Rendez-vous Bistro & Restaurant FrancaisGreat food - wonderful service!Le rendezvous once again was among the best of Tucson! The chef did a great presentation and the sauces were magnificent.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet's DelightOur recent dinner at Le Rendez-vous with another couple was a special treat. My husband shared the Chateaubriand with the other gentleman in our party and they both said it was the most tender and tasty dish they have had at this restaurant. The meat is seared and sliced at the table and served with potatoes and vegetables that are cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the scallops that were very tasty, but a bit tough, also served with sliced potatoes and vegetables. The fourth person in our party had the salmon and although she seldom finishes anything she orders she practically licked the plate. I had a cup of the gazpacho as a starter and found it to be a bit spicy but very tasty and a nice consistency. The evening was enjoyable6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Neighborhood GemMy friend and I wanted to celebrate her birthday during a Happy Hour. We have been to so many places for Happy Hour and I suggested Le Rendezvous. We had a wonderful time. The appetizers were great and the drink prices were amazing. What we loved overall was the service and ambiance and it is a place were people can talk and enjoy great food, great service and it is in our neighborhood area! We are already planning to come back to celebrate my birthday! What a treat!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic foodI am impressed by not only the food but by the service and friendliness of the staff. This is my new favorite restaurant!
The Grand Marnier Soufflé is so delicious it's sinful!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTired of noise? This is the place to go then. Theree's nothing wrse than going to dinner with a couple of friends and then having to practically shout to be heard. This will never happen at Le Rendez Vous. Not only that, but the food will not be mediocre either. It's definitely one of the best places to dine in Tucson. It never fails to satisfy.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBEST FRENCH FOOD IN TUCSONWELL-PREPARED AND SERVED FRENCH FARE WITH CELEBRATORY ATMOSPHERE. WHETHER YOU CHOOSE THE MORE LIVELY ROOM NEAR THE BAR OR THE MORE SEDATE FORMAL ROOM, IT IS ALWAYS A DELIGHT TO DINE AT LE RENDEZ-VOUS.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Le RendezWe have been to Le Rendez Vous before, but we felt this time our palates had developed to a point where we could really appreciate the richness in flavors in each of the plates we tasted. The atmosphere is quiet, elegant and definitely romantic. The only drawback, 10 years ago our server was French, and we got to order in French only, this time, our waiter could hardly pronounce the menu items.
Overall, a great experience we are thinking of repeating every year on our anniversary. Mercy Beaucoup!!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA favoriteFavorite restaurant with up-dated menu that seems to be working well.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLe Rendezvous is a wonderfullyLe Rendezvous is a wonderfully quaint restaurant with fantastic service and delicious food. The atmosphere was wonderful when the drapes to the dining room were closed and the candles were lit. . We can't wait for our next visit.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat small plates choicesThe more casual Bistro dining area offers great choices in 'small plates'. Two of us for an anniversary special occasion dinner had a salad, a great soup, seven small plate samplers and dessert. A great way to try many special things in one meal. Excellent friendly and attentive service. A very different dining experience overall from dining in the more formal dining area on an entree each.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMvegan delightMarcus is an outstanding chef. His creations are a true delight. I especially enjoy them since he meets my needs for vegan, gluten free meals. Everything is quite tasty, beautifully plated, and a joy to behold. My companion, who orders off the regular menu, is also pleased with his meals there. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible! The food and service was outstanding. This was right up there with my favorite meals in Tucson.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Le Rendez-vous...If you haven't been to Le Rendez-vous you are missing out. We recently took some friends there and they could not believe that they had never been there before. It is truly a hidden gem of a restaurant in Tucson. We are big fans. The recent changes with the Bistro aspect being added with the addition of a "small plate" menu is interesting. We all tired different small plates and a full list of entrees... very tasty. The wine was great and the 20 year old Port was so nice. If you don't order a souffle for desert, you are missing out. We highly recommend Les Rendez-vous!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial PlaceFood was excellent--hard to find a true French restaurant in Tucson. Veal medallions and vegetarian special of the night (risotto) both excellent. Fabulous salads as well. I look forward to returning to try the Chateaubriand for two in the near future. Service was outstanding, staff very attentive, best ever in my experience in Tucson, from the owner, to the busboys, to the waitress, to the chef (who stopped by). Simple example--ordered coffee, left the table for a minute, the waitress approached with coffee, decided to hold off until my return, was back with the coffee (freshly made by the way) the second I sat down. And, no, I am not related to anyone at the restaurant; it was simply an excellent dining experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingWe came for a nice date and were not disappointed. Sterling service, they had a bouquet of roses waiting for us...simply great5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood For ThoughtNothing short of amazing. Great ambiance, whether you elect to dine in either the bistro area or the back room. Our dinner there was superb. The house salad was delectable as were the two main courses we ordered, which were fish and chicken. Their desserts are outstanding. Overall my wife and I found the entire experience of dining there to be outstanding and we plan on returning many more times, including their daily happy hour from 5-7 pm in the bistro area.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI think is one of the bestI think is one of the best if not the best restaurant in Tucson.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMall time favoriteThis is -by far- the best restaurant in Tucson. If you love food and wine and want to "dine" then you must go to Le Rendez-vous. The unique "small plates" allow you to sample things like frog legs and hot salmon salad and the main menu with medalions of veal and duck montmoresy is timeless.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice...and more!Such a nice place to take someone for a special occasion and the food is to die for!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGood FoodExcellent food and good menu. Quite and clean and the staff were professional.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro DelightOur party indulged in about 8 of the very affordable "small plates" bistro selections for lunch ($5.50/plate). Fun to get a smorgasbord of seafood and meat tastes--this is enough food for 3 -4 people. The seared salmon and the crab-stuffed shrimp were our favorites. The only thing that was not a knock-out was the pate. Surprisingly, It was bland and served too cold.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW!What a great restaurant, the food and presentation was excellent! Best French cuisine we have had in many years. We will definitely return.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMlow keyed, excellent foodI had the Beef Wellington, it was excellent, so very tender and flavorful. My husband had the Sea Bass, yummy. Very small but comfy.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Anniversary DinnerWe had not been to Le Rendez-vous for quite a while and we were very pleased to find some old favorites on the menu, as well as many new items. We both enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was well-informed and very friendly, as was the entire staff. I'm sure we will return soon.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceWe had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Le Rendez-vous. Service was great and the food excellent. Its a little cramped inside but they make the most of the space they have available to them. A tad on the pricey side but well worth it for an occasional date night or special occasion.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived at the reservtionWe arrived at the reservtion time and were instantly seated. Large wine list presented with many by the glass choices and fairly priced. Service was friendly but not overbearing. Food was quite outstanding. Duck pate and escargot as appetizers were well prepared and very tasty. Entres were veal and beef wellington. Portions were generous and decicious.
We shall certainly return. This was our first visit in a few years and were very pleased.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent in Every Way!On this, my first visit to this establishment, I used a Living Social discount, reserved through "Open Table," and, when I walked in, I was greeted by name! A great way to start! The servers were attentive but not obsequious, the food (yummy onion soup, salad, Coq au Vin and crème brulee) and wine portions were generous, the temperature of the wine, salad and hot foods was perfect, and all my requests were met with speed and grace. Other restaurants can learn a thing or two from Le Rendez-vous Bistro. Thanks to all for a great experience. I will return again to try more items on the modest, but interesting, menu.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMfrance in TucsonAs always, the food is excellent and the service is great. The wine was also delicious and not wildly priced.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMost authentic French restaurantMost authentic French restaurant in Tucson, sans question.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA very nice French restaurant.A very nice French restaurant. Attentive but not intrusive service - Pricey but worth the money.
Bistro section was nearly full and would have been a bit noisy for our romantic anniversary tete-a-tete but the dining room was fine.
Thanks to our friends for a great recommendation.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest RestaurantWe tried every thing on their small plate menu!
Outstanding!!!
May be the best restaurant in Tucson!
Happy campers....4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Evening and DinnerWe dine at Le Rendez-vous fairly regularly. Our dinner, service and atmosphere were excellent. The room was energetic and fun. From appetizers to Soufflés were well prepared and tasted great. The consistency is always appreciated. The portion sizes were perfect. All made for a wonderful evening.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very charming, veryThis is a very charming, very French restaurant. The food was good, but traditional and too rich (cream, butter) and I really can't eat like this anymore. The good: mussels were terrific, and in a delicious sauce; the okay coconut cake was comp'd because it was my birthday. The bad: Wellington had not a speck of foie gras and the duxelles were overcooked; coq au vin was dull, chocolate cake was dry. Lovely room and atmosphere, though - would return just for drinks and appetizers.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can come here for a moreYou can come here for a more formal, and definitely French, dining experience in the main dining room or you can order from the "small bites" menu in the bistro and you're in a tapas restaurant in Spain. You will not be disappointed here! We love this place.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding in every way.Outstanding in every way. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Definitely! This time we went on a Friday night just before a holiday weekend. It was very crowded and very noisy. I don't think they can do anything to change the noise level. We love the food, the service is always good and we also like the ambiance, on a week night. Skip Friday nights if you want a peaceful meal.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant allows providesThis restaurant allows provides an exceptional experience, with great service, food, and atmosphere. It was sad, though, to have to be rushed away so soon after a 1:30 pm lunch. Next time, I must plan to arrive earlier. I'm used to dining European style--quite leisurely.
I would like to know when you are having any special event or menu announcement. Merci!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTop NotchEverything we had was superb. Best French Onion soup I've ever had. And the Beef Bourguignon was excellent. The serving and presentation were also what made it a special meal for us. I highly recommend Le Rendez-vous.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a reservation and whenWe had a reservation and when we were seated at our table it was in a very noisy area, due partially to a large group next to us. Our first waiter acknowledged the noise level immediately. We asked if there was another available table and were taken to one, which was much better.
We haven't eaten at this restaurant in a couple of years but our meal that night was as excellent maybe better than we have ever had there. Our lovely waitress was very efficient and helpful, along with a personality that suited her position as waitress. A very good experience.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe all enjoyed the evening! We all enjoyed the evening! The grouper, the special fish of the day, was quite delicious as was the Cabriila. One in our party had the steak and also said it was quite good. The onion soup was rich and flavorful as is all the food here. It is classic French and it is done well here.
The service is friendly and capable and we found some reasonably priced wines.
Very enjoyable!1/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
