Diner Reviews
  • "W have really enjoyed dining here in the past, but the quality of service completely ruined what was to be a joyous occasion. When main course was served we were given the wrong plates. Potatoes ANNA, 5 slices? The one bright spot was the young man who greeted us at the door, he was very courteous and friendly during the evening."

  • "The bistro side of le rendez-vous has great food and service and wonderful happy hour specials. Small plates and appetizers are $5-7 and good wine is $5/glass. You can eat delicious food in a pretty place at a reasonable price - what more could you want?"

  • "The food was what we expected-very good! When we arrived, they knew ahead of time that it was our anniversary, they wanted to place us next to the bar where all the traffic of the severs and guests would be. We ask for a different table and they agreed if we would wait. The table we finally was given had dirty table cloths and food on the seats. Plus the restaurant is very crowded with lots of tables. You cannot get away from the conversations going on around you. We will not recommend nor return!"

  • "The worst service ever, just two server for the entire restaurant"

  • "I have not been to Tucson in about 25 years. Finding Le Rendez-vous Bistro was a surprise. Excellent service, my salmon was perfectly done as was my partners scallops. We would have gone back for a second meal except the restaurant was closed that day (Monday)."

  • "I have been to this restaurant a couple of times previously (three times now) and every time I've gone there the food has been marvelous! The only problem this time was the noise! Too damn loud!!! And it wasn't because there were throngs of people there. The music was way too loud and for reasons beyond my understanding they had most all of the tables full in our particular/front room and the back room hardly had anyone at all. That shouldn't have happened; I don't know why it did."

  • "1.steak tatar-served on half of a saturated English muffin. no toast points until reguested (ten minutes later) 2.salad slightly better than average (canned beets) 3.sweetbreads served with very little sauce. All other items good."

  • "We come here about three times per year. We always enjoy every aspect of dining there."

  • "The food was very good. The service has improved since our last visit. We will be back."

  • "From an exotic menu with many unusual selections, I chose the vegetarian special, something I have never done before. It was a large artichoke stuffed with mushrooms, lentils, pine nuts and melted cheese. Side dishes were a small salad and thinly sliced potatoes and onions. A ground butter dip (melted and warm) accompanied the artichoke. It was beyond delicious. The four of us tried other dishes as well: mussels, roasted beets, frog legs, sea bass, beef, stuffed shrimp, roast duck. Every dish was superb and served with an artistic flair. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We had a perfect evening."

  • "A delightful French restaurant with delicious menu items, delightful ambiance and great service. What more can you ask? Needed to discuss a family situation. Was quiet, intimate and we were not rushed by the staff. Don't miss this little bit of Paris right here in Tucson."

  • "Outstanding French cuisine, atmosphere, and service. The food is out-of-this-world and the service has always been second-to-none. That is except for last Friday 3/28/14. We had a waiter that was inattentive, forgetful, and mediocre. I waited almost 15 minutes for a drink before dinner. I also waited 15 minutes for an after dinner cup of coffee and didn't get it until I flagged down a different waiter, and on and on. I had never seen this waiter before, so hopefully Le Rendez-vous will weed him out. The only factor that kept me from providing a Five Star rating was the lousy service, and I can't hold the restaurant completely responsible for one employee's mediocre service. Le Rendez-vous is the best!"

  • "As always : "Outstanding" in every way. The food is authentic French and the front room is set up for memorable experience. We always choose the beef wellington with the soffie for desert and are never disappointed. A great place to take the family and friends for a special occation or any occation"

  • "We were there celebrating our daughters 25th birthday. Our table of 4 started with appetizers during their Happy Hour, we had mussels, duck pate, and Coquille St. Jacques, all excellent. We all had the Beef Wellington and it was to die for, probably the best I've ever had. We found it for lunch one day (veal liver was the best) and decided to come for dinner. This place is a real find, totally unexpected to find such a wonderful French restaurant in Tucson."

  • "We went there before and had an amazing experience, this time we took our friend out to celebrate his birthday. The food was as good as we remembered, but the service was such a disappointment we could not believe it. Our sparkling water was not refilled within the first hour we were there-- well the birthday boys water was never refilled till dessert time when my husband kindly pointed out to the waitstaff. I understand the place was busy for a Wednesday night, but if it was so busy that all the staff seemed overwhelmed maybe consider doing something different?! We were there for over 3.5hrs-- after dessert we asked for our check, and we waited another half an hour until my friend asked again."

  • "All four of us loved the food! The veal medallions were superb as was the Cabrilla and the Arctic Char! Service was friendly and competent. Delicious brie appetizer and tasty lentil soup! Grand Marnier and chocolate soufflés were terrific! This place is at the top of its game!"

  • "This was our first visit to Le rendez-vous. The service and the food were quite good. We enjoyed a new wine that was moderately priced. This is a gem of a restaurant in Tucson. Very much worth visiting."

  • "Once again a wonderful dining experience. Everything was superb!!"

  • "We were seated on time. The beef wellington was, as usual, outstanding. The service was very attentive. This is a "regular" restaurant that we continue to return to because it is really a local "five star" eatery!"

  • "To start , the lobster bisque was virtually indistinguishable from honey water. It's a bisque, was there a shortage of cream in the Tucson area?. All the courses were underwhelming barring the cordon-bleu. The chicken was excellent. Not a $70 plate though. There is a chance that we caught the chef on a bad day-- the restaurant was rather busy. Nonetheless, we were disappointed."

  • "We were there on a relatively quiet Wednesday evening- party of 2. Thought our server could have been more attentive. When the bil came we were overcharged 2 glasses of wine. The server made the correction when her mistake was pointed out but no real apology came with the correction."

  • "We were seated in a corner booth for a cozy and tasty dinner. The salmon and scallops entrees were both well prepared; the "potatoes Anna" are the best!!"

  • "We were in town for a wedding and had a open night. Wife is from Paris. Decided to go here for home cooking. We were pleased as we knew nothing more than what we saw on OpenTable."

  • "Went here with my husband, a little flash back to our Paris honeymoon! The food and service was great, we will definitely be back!"

  • "We have had great meals here, especially like the small plate options."

  • "Whereas the food was very good- the service was funtional at best. The table was cramped in a corner, chairs like boards. Asked to move but they didn't get back to us. Our original reservation had been cancelled- no offer to rebook which I did again on Open Table. Ordered Grand Marnier Souffle- but was told it would take 30 minutes. Server apologized for not mentioning it sooner. Last year it was romantic (our anniversary) - this year not even close. Very disappointed as we thought we had found "the place" to celebrate."

  • "One of my favorite places in Tucson. Food is always well prepared, and there is a nice range from "little plates' to full dinners. Quiet and well spaced tables, so you can actually talk! A gem."

  • "We used to frequent the Restaurant fairly often in the past but it became rather expensive, so we ceased coming. Returned more recently and had lunch, found it very good and not too high priced, but not cheap of course! Service was excellent, as was the food. Have taken to bringing visitors to your establishment as I often have people coming to visit me from all parts of the world. e.g. Yesterday my companions came from Canada."

  • "A perfect getaway where one's mind can playfully imagine being elsewhere. The food was delicious and we loved the music, too. Gordon, Jean Claude's son, and his younger sister waitress helped make our celebratory evening truly memorable."

  • "The four of us thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our dining experience. The onion soup and hors d'oeurvres were outstanding. Three of our four had the shrimp dish - all found it to be delectable! AND, of course, the dessert, the Grand Marnier Souffle, was beyond description. SUMPTUOUS!"

  • "Dining in what was once a home provides an experience not unlike what one often finds in Europe. This restaurant is cozy, best for either a couple's night out or for dining with another. The food is very good, not as "French" as one might expect, portions moderate. Dinner for two with a glass of wine for each, salad and entrée without coffee or dessert will run about $90 before the tip."

  • "This was our second visit to this restaurant. My wife, a life-long afficianado of French cuisine, thoroughly enjoys coming to Les Rendezvous, so this is our destination to celebrate her birthday. The food is delicious and well-presented. I do consider the prices a bit over the top, which is why, on our budget, we limit our visits to once a year."

  • "I looked forward to having Escargot and found that the restaurant was out of this. The Frog Legs were substituted and I enjoyed them. My companion ordered the Beef Stroganoff and found the beef very chewy. We both had the Grand Manier souffle, with a Sabayon sauce. I have had this dessert many times in the past, it was "petite" and a little under cooked. When I have had this before the Sabayon sauce was warm, this time it was cold. Since we ordered this at the start of our dinner I feel that there was plenty of time to prepare an authentic Sabayon sauce and serve it warm."

  • "LeRendezvous is wonderful. We had a delicious dinner, served by a very engaging waiter in a dining room that is retro in the best sense. The sole entre was perfect! We felt very comfortable and will definately come again!"

  • "This is a perfect place for almost any occasion when you want to be able to hear the person you are with and have something totally yummy served with just the right amount of attention. It's a "food forward" restaurant. The waitress did not interrupt a conversation once! The small plates are a treat. The salmon was perfectly cooked. Great salads and that Grand Marnier soufflé is well...to die for..."

  • "We were visiting friends in Tucson and it was our friend's birthday so we were looking for a special place. LeRendez-vous had been recommended by a friend of theirs. We made the reservation thru Open Table and included a note that we were celebrating a birthday. We also requested a specific waiter based on other diner's reviews. When we arrived, the waiter wasn't available and our note about a birthday went unnoticed. Food was very good. Mushroom app was excellent. Muscles very tasty cream broth but very rich. Veal medallions tasty but surprisingly chewy. Excellent coconut cake dessert."
