A charming Glen Park French bistro, with friendly service. The sauce on the vegetarian gnocchi was out of this world, and the pear-caramel flan was one of the most sumptuous desserts I've ever tasted.

Had the rabbit entry. Rabbit itself was very good but sauce was too salty and not particularly tasty. Mashed potatoes were nothing special. No vegetable. Profiteroles also were just good, not more than that. Way too pricey for good but not excellent cooking. Cute place and good location.

Our fourth visit to Le P'tit Laurent was just as wonderful as the previous ones. Service is impeccable. Great suggestion for a wine that would work with all of our entrees. Took advantage of the Back to School fair which included a starter and an entree for $23. The gnocchi entree was delicious as well as the fish entree. The deserts hit the spot--creme broulee and petite pain which was French toast with caramel ice cream. Love the atmosphere.

Le P'tit Laurent is a gem, for sure. It sits in a lovely area at Glen Park, along with several other food and shopping gems. For one rather small block or two, this is a great area and Le P'tit is an anchor. This is my second visit within a few months and the place was, once again, delightful. If I HAD to complain, the sauce for the gnocchi might have been a touch too strong for the delicate dumplings. I only measure by my own taste, which is not usually accustomed to much more than a bit of salt and pepper. Still, the vegetables within the dish and the dumplings themselves were quite good. Here is some advice: go, enjoy the neighborhood and the restaurant. I have a feeling you will enjoy it.

I dined here for the first time Saturday evening. The service and food was EXCELLENT. I ordered the crab avocado salad to start and the filet for my main and it was cooked perfectly. I also was joined by my husband and 15 month old and they could not have been kinder or more accomodating to us. I highly recommend this place.

Le P'tit Laurent is a charming little French restaurant that is a great experience from the moment you step in the front door. Once inside, you feel like you are actually in Paris. Everyone is very friendly and the food is phenomenal. We liked it so much we ate there twice in one week!

I went out of the way to bring a date to this charming restaurant thinking it was the perfect romantic place to be able to talk and get to know each other. The place itself is still charming, but it was so noisy on a Sunday evening we had to hollar to each other. Our table was right next to a table for four. The food was tasty, but the portions small and the prices fairly high. The waiter was Portuguese and didn't speak French. It's in a great neighborhood.

This is nice restaurant but way over priced for what you get. Unfortunately the service we received was poor. The 5 of us ordered appetizers, 4 of us received at the same time, but it took an extra 5 minutes to get the oysters for the fifth person. I had to call the waiter over before anything was brought to the 5th person. Same thing happened with the main course.Everyone got what they ordered but mine was delayed by 4 minutes. Same item as others ordered. Very poor attention to details

We go there for Valentines' Day dinner, and make our reservation far in advance. We go there at the drop of a hat for an amazing mid-week dinner on the Neighborhood Menu. We've taken our families when they come in town, and definitely win points! Last night, we celebrated our anniversary, and after cooing over the dessert, went home very happy. Laurent and his staff are lovely people, and the service is consistently friendly and responsive. We can't wait to go again.

I live in the glen park neighborhood, but work in another state, so when traveling back home I try and make a reservation to eat my first dinner at Le P'tit Laurent. The food is delicious and the wine list is very good. I had perfectly cooked swordfish, my son loved his rabbit, and my husband liked his shrimp and pasta dish. We had an excellent bottle of pinot noir.

In celebration of my daughters 30th Birthday, myself, my partner, my daughter and her husband ate dinner here. My daughter was "charmed." Her husband, who is half French, ordered escargot for the first time in his life. He insisted that I try one. I really didn't want to eat a garden pest but I did, and, it was delicious. My partner and I ordered the flank steak. When I looked over at her plate, it was almost licked clean. She loved the steak and the sauce. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. It may be the best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. My partner and I have come here many times, usually with out-of-town guests or with family. We have never been disappointed.

A charming, crowded, very French restaurant with typical fare. Food was excellent, wine list good. The place was packed on a Wednesday night. Tables close and it was a bit warm and stuffy. Service was good, but impersonal and brusque ( a bit like a Paris bistro). In spite of this, I really liked the place. Would come again

Every American place that affects to be a French bistro tries to concentrate on good food and, like the French, offer so-so service. This one succeeds on both counts. Take it for what it is, however, and enjoy a cozy neighborhood spot.

I had been to Le P'tit Laurent a couple of years ago for brunch and was looking forward to trying their dinner. It was a duo-birthday celebration for me and my boyfriend and I can't tell you how disappointed I was with everything except the service. Beginning with the old fashioned cocktail (watery), the escargot (DRY), the French onion soup (bland) and ending with the lamb & mashed potatoes (plain and tasteless). I knew it was a small space, but the tables were so close together, I felt like we were dining with the couple beside us, and the noise level...completely unbelievable when you add in a couple of musicians into a tiny, overcrowded room. How does a restaurant this poor stay open in San Francisco?!?

The atmosphere was so authentic, we could have been at a small bistro in Paris! The service was very attentive. It's cozy, which, again, makes you feel like you are experiencing a relaxed meal with friends in a bistro in Paris. The wine list is very nice. Many French options which gives you the chance to try something new. It is a neighborhood French bistro. Not stuffy and does not require anyone to dress up. The food is good, the staff are all pleasant, and our wine was terrific. We will definitely go back when we are in the city. Just wish we lived closer!

It's not the first time I go to this place, but that time was definitely special. The a-la-carte menu, although more expensive than the menu, is more sophisticated and tastier. We shared mussels, which were excellent, which a garlic white wine sauce that we finished to the last drop with some crunchy baguette. It was followed by cassoulet, lamb shank, and yellow tail. Even the cassoulet (a casserole of beans, sausage, and duck confit) was light and tasty. Excellent food in a great place.

the food is really wonderful, it's very very french, but the service can be iffy. it's a tight spot and it's hard for everyone to maneuver. the last time, our waiter was very hard to understand (not just the language but the noise level) - plus food came out at different times, plates were placed in front of the wrong folks consistently, and lots of dishes were dropped. but overall, I'd recommend it for the bistro atmosphere and the french food.

Lovely owner and friendly service. However, the restaurant was so incredibly noisy that we were barely able to hear each other as we yelled across the table. And to make matters worse, loud music began playing around 7:00 PM. My ears were ringing as we finally excited to the sidewalk. I will not return for dinner, but brunches have been pleasant in the past, if also very noisy but not deafening.

We like Le Petit Laurent more for its atmosphere than the food, which has been slowly declining in quality since we started visiting it a couple of years ago. Had a birthday dinner here with my goddaughter this week and it was nice. We ordered the prix fix for $27 which included a soup or salad and a paella or flank steak. I had the cream of asparagus soup and she had the bean salad - both quite tasty. Then we both had the paella which was OK but a bit too salty. The profiteroles with chocolate sauce for dessert were delicious. Merlot wine was pricey but good. Need fewer tables and better ventilation because it gets difficult to hear and hot by 8PM if the restaurant is full. This is still a neighborhood gem and I will return. Great service! Merci.
