  • "Enjoyed a fabulous dinner - food was very good - service was excellent! Would definitely go back."

  • "Every American place that affects to be a French bistro tries to concentrate on good food and, like the French, offer so-so service. This one succeeds on both counts. Take it for what it is, however, and enjoy a cozy neighborhood spot."

  • "Been looking for a nice little French restaurant closer to home and this is it. Great food, great price and great service, The neighborhood menu is an especially good value."

  • "I had been to Le P'tit Laurent a couple of years ago for brunch and was looking forward to trying their dinner. It was a duo-birthday celebration for me and my boyfriend and I can't tell you how disappointed I was with everything except the service. Beginning with the old fashioned cocktail (watery), the escargot (DRY), the French onion soup (bland) and ending with the lamb & mashed potatoes (plain and tasteless). I knew it was a small space, but the tables were so close together, I felt like we were dining with the couple beside us, and the noise level...completely unbelievable when you add in a couple of musicians into a tiny, overcrowded room. How does a restaurant this poor stay open in San Francisco?!?"

  • "Our waiter was so charming and we had such a good time. The food was wonderful, the place was perfect."

  • "Three of us had a lovely dinner here a few weeks back. The staff give excellent service and the food was very good and portions were not small by any means. It was convenient and enjoyable."

  • "Le P'tit Laurent - What a wonderful neighborhood restaurant! The food is delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned (not too salty). The service was attentive and helpful. While we missed the pre-opera presentation, we didn't mind since...we had a wonderful dinner experience."

  • "The atmosphere was so authentic, we could have been at a small bistro in Paris! The service was very attentive. It's cozy, which, again, makes you feel like you are experiencing a relaxed meal with friends in a bistro in Paris. The wine list is very nice. Many French options which gives you the chance to try something new. It is a neighborhood French bistro. Not stuffy and does not require anyone to dress up. The food is good, the staff are all pleasant, and our wine was terrific. We will definitely go back when we are in the city. Just wish we lived closer!"

  • "It's not the first time I go to this place, but that time was definitely special. The a-la-carte menu, although more expensive than the menu, is more sophisticated and tastier. We shared mussels, which were excellent, which a garlic white wine sauce that we finished to the last drop with some crunchy baguette. It was followed by cassoulet, lamb shank, and yellow tail. Even the cassoulet (a casserole of beans, sausage, and duck confit) was light and tasty. Excellent food in a great place."

  • "Wonderful meal per usual. Did a la carte on a Friday nite, so not a bargain as with the "neighborhood menu" -- nonetheless, it was superb! Sancerre is a fantastic wine choice!"

  • "As usual, we had a wonderful experience at Le P'tit Laurent! We have enjoyed many dinners but this was our first time having brunch here. We were greeted upon arrival by a vivacious Beni (?) Her service was friendly and professional. She was knowledgeable about the menu and made our brunch delicious and delightful."

  • "This is a superb French bistro-type restaurant in Glen Park. Worth going out of your way for. We made a reservation on a Saturday afternoon and were surprised to get the time we wanted. We enjoyed the French-style food, the wine and the service. The bar looked inviting, but we had already had cocktails. We will definitely return"

  • "the food is really wonderful, it's very very french, but the service can be iffy. it's a tight spot and it's hard for everyone to maneuver. the last time, our waiter was very hard to understand (not just the language but the noise level) - plus food came out at different times, plates were placed in front of the wrong folks consistently, and lots of dishes were dropped. but overall, I'd recommend it for the bistro atmosphere and the french food."

  • "Lovely owner and friendly service. However, the restaurant was so incredibly noisy that we were barely able to hear each other as we yelled across the table. And to make matters worse, loud music began playing around 7:00 PM. My ears were ringing as we finally excited to the sidewalk. I will not return for dinner, but brunches have been pleasant in the past, if also very noisy but not deafening."

  • "We like Le Petit Laurent more for its atmosphere than the food, which has been slowly declining in quality since we started visiting it a couple of years ago. A great neighborhood joint, but I must admit that unless they upgrade the food we will remove it from our list of "regulars" without regret."

  • "Had a birthday dinner here with my goddaughter this week and it was nice. We ordered the prix fix for $27 which included a soup or salad and a paella or flank steak. I had the cream of asparagus soup and she had the bean salad - both quite tasty. Then we both had the paella which was OK but a bit too salty. The profiteroles with chocolate sauce for dessert were delicious. Merlot wine was pricey but good. Need fewer tables and better ventilation because it gets difficult to hear and hot by 8PM if the restaurant is full. This is still a neighborhood gem and I will return. Great service! Merci."

  • "We celebrated Father's Day at Le P'tit Laurent and had a lovely meal! Mussel Mariniere was delicious and we mopped up the garlic butter sauce with bread. The main courses (lamb shank, cassoulet, sea bass) were also very tasty. Laurent was most helpful with his wine suggestions. We enjoyed our deserts (tart tartan and creme brûlée) with complimentary champagne from Laurent. We'll definitely be going back."

  • "Exquisite food and fantastic service! The rabbit was succulent, the lamb luscious - even the green beans were memorable. Le P'tit Laurent brings a necessary and vibrant injection of European dining culture to Glen Park."

  • "As a 5 time visitor, I was a little disappointed in the restaurant this time. Although the food was tasty, no effort was made at any type of presentation. I had the price fixe meal. The pork cutlet and a scoop of mash potatoes constituted the main course. Less than a cup of soup was the appetizer. The dessert was the saving grace, as you made your choice from the dessert menu. It seemed that all the prices had been significantly raised. The entire staff appeared changed from my last visit and seemed to lack the attentiveness as in past visits. I brought a guest to what I thought was a "special place", but I did not get that impression this time. I shall definitely return at least one more time."

  • "Several years ago I was introduced to this small restaurant in Glen Park. Now, I have dined there about a half dozen times. Each time, the staff were professional and attentive, and the food was great. This time I enjoyed the lamb shank."

  • "All 3 of us ended up having the "neighborhood menu" or Prix Fixe menu. It was excellent. One of our party was visiting from London and really enjoyed the neighborhood ambiance. Definitely have to return and order from the a la carte menu. Great for a special occasion."

  • "A perfect, intimate place to celebrate a special birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed he frisee salad & oysters, the lamb chop and steak, the wonderful Chateau Neuf du Pape, and those periferoles! A quaint neighborhood gem that felt genuine; like we were transported to another place far away from the city....the ambiance, the wine and the hospitality were all magnifique!"

  • "Food was wonderful and authentically French, with the care and depth you come to expect in Paris. From salad, to entree, to dessert. Charming service and decor. Perfect for anniversary or special occasion. Make reservations. They get crowded even on weeknights."

  • " I am beyond grateful to have a neighborhood restaurant that I can take friends, family and out of town guests to with food of this standard of quality. I highly recommend the neighborhood special menu on every level. The gourmet food never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for the wonderful staff, also, who make every night I have eaten here memorable. The combination of great food, friends (depends on YOU), staff and service for such a good price are amazing. I highly recommend the french toast for dessert...always a crowd pleaser. The ambiance makes you feel like you are in a small bit of Paris....really fun!"

  • "The food was not as good as usual The soup was over salted and slightly burnt tasting Pomme frites cool and not crispy Mussels were excellent escargot buttery and sweet"

  • "This place was packed when we arrived and we had to wait for a table in spite of our reservation. This put me in a foul mood, but as soon as there was room to fit my party at the bar (and later at a table) I felt taken care of. Food was excellent and I ended up having a wonderful night. THANKS Laurent!"

  • "This was our fourth visit here. I have had the cassoulet three times. The first and this time it was very good; the time in between, the duck was stringy and hardly edible. Everything else we have ever had was very good: fish, frog legs, escargots, steak. This time, there were no French people in evidence on the staff. The usual servers were not here. Everyone was very nice, but I miss the French folks. I don't know that we will take the time out of our trip to the airport to eat here again. "

  • "Dining by myself around 8:45 PM, I sat at the bar for a martini and the steak frites for dinner as a bustling group of diners enjoyed themselves around me. Two birthdays in the room. Superb service and food and a nice chat with a gentleman who lives in the neighborhood and was also dining alone. He was having the steamed mussels with white wine and garlic with French fries along with the frisée salad with bacon and poached egg, sherry vinaigrette both of which I have had at Le P'tit Laurent and which I'll have next on my next visit. I'm now using the Open Table app on my phone which is a real convenience in locating a table on short notice. "

  • "Regrettably, we traveled an hour away to try out this restaurant. Head waiter (heavy accent) and waitress were unaccommodating & unfriendly, treated us as if we are beneath their stuck-up air. The only friendly one was the water server. Our tip was intended for him alone. Our corner table was tight, claustrophobic, noisy and very hot. No AC. Entrée of chicken stew: terrible; chewy/dry like were reheated day after day. We packed it home for our dog. Salmon entree was petite, nothing special. French toasts caramel = 2 half slices of french toast, nothing else. Strawberry rhubarb = meager + bland. The unfriendly service, stuck up attitude and sub-par food were waste time and $$$$. Unpleasant! WE DO NO RECOMMEND le p'tit laurent TO ANYONE!"

  • "We've been to Le P'tit Laurent several times, and it was our choice for an impromptu anniversary dinner out. Corner table was waiting upon arrival (8pm reservation, when starts to quiet down). Service was very attentive (I could see our server glance our way every time he was nearby, and was sensitive enough not to approach when not needed). Salad course - mine was not perfect and I let our server know (overcooked poached egg and flabby lardon) but I didn't send it back, and I did eat all but a few bites. When the check arrived, it had been taken off the bill - an unexpected consideration! Entrees were delicious - not a bite or drop of sauce remained on our plates. Go early or late - it can feel crowded and noisy during the rush."

  • "We were a party of six celebrating various recent birthdays and had reservations for 7:30PM on a Tuesday night. Three of us arrived exactly on time and were seated within three minutes. To our surprise the place was packed. The others arrived within fifteen minutes (parking is not easy the the Glen Park area) and the service never got antsy waiting. We ordered the bass and the casserole the vegetarian gnocchi. We all thought it was excellent except for the gnocchi (that diner said it was good but not great). It was loud inside, however. we could still carry on our conversations with a little effort. I must mention the excellent service. Our waiter was extremely efficient and always had a smile."

  • "First seated by a sunny window that we needed to shut in order to fit in the seat. We were asked to open the window due to the hot day (which it was), so then we switched seats to a nice table in this small restaurant. I had two appetizers in lieu of an entree - mussels and salad were delicious, good portions and came in a timely manner. Bread served was also very good. My friend had a bouliabasse (sp?) and enjoyed it too. Iced tea only and no dessert, so can't comment on drinks and desserts. Restaurant is on a busy street but does remind you of a French bistro. Will return and try other things on the menu."

  • "This restaurant is very quaint. It's small and cozy. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. The owner, Laurent, gave me his arm to escort me to the table, which i thought was a very nice touch! Very nice evening!"
