This is the perfect place for an intimate evening with friends, relatives or beaus. The menu is phenomenal - even the salad is delicoous! Delightful bread is crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. The beef was melt in your mouth tender, the desserts were to die for! A pleasure to the palate, Le P'tit is the only place I want to be on Sunday evenings!

Le P'tit Laurent is a not-so-well-kept secret in Glen Park. Warm, energetic, a bit noisy, popular (make reservations), and intimate (small, but with a full bar). But the quality of the food and the knowledge level of the servers make it a must for dining. The menu changes weekly, but every dish is hand-selected by the chef and prepared to perfection. The fare is definitely French, but less heavy-handed than some continental-style dishes. It takes full advantage of California's abundance of fresh offerings and showcases our flair for fusion of new and classic flavors and textures. I sampled the beef tenderloin, the rabbit, and the sea bass. Each was exquisite and came with sauce tailored to enhance the main dish, plus pretty and flavorful sides that complemented the dish. Even the starter soup was amazing: I have never had a better cream of chicken soup. The wine list is well-balanced between traditional wines from every domaine in France and other European regions and native California wines. All were reasonably priced, including wine by the glass. Alas, we were too full (the portions are generous) to sample the dessert menu, but the selection was rich and very tempting. The only downside was that it took nearly 20 minutes before we had our menus. To be sure, our reservation was 6:30pm on what turned out to be a very busy Friday, and the full wait staff doesn't come on-board until 7:30pm. But once we got started, everything moved at a comfortable pace and I have no complaints. The staff was outstanding: attentive, helpful, eager to please. And the price for everything was almost exactly as I predicted -- no unpleasant surprises, and worth every penny. A great place for casual dining, for a special celebration, or just to impress friends visiting from out of town: they won't forget it!

What is nice about this cozy little neighborhood spot is that is is authentically French rather than some pretentious faux-French American hybrid. The food is delicious, the staff are very courteous in a nice European way, the wine list is wonderful yet it is casual. Highly recommended.

Very good and pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the neighborhood menu. Love the friendly staff but a little disappointed with wait time for meal when restaurant fills during peak. Good to see volume on a Sunday evening and happy to find they are open on Sunday. We were completely happy with our dinner at this charming restaurant. We chose it for the rabbit on the menu, not always easy to find and usually a sign of a creative but authentic French cook. We started with escargots and a lovely ceviche. The rabbit did not disappoint, nor did the lamb chops, tender, juicy and a perfect medium rare. The staff were helpful and attentive without hovering. Wish we'd had room for dessert! A note about the neighborhood - we were a bit early for our reservation on Oct 31, so we spent a few minutes watching the young families trick-or-treating on Chenery St., so cute and such a happy feeling in the air. As out of towners we had never visited this area before, but felt very comfortable and welcome.

This really is a neighborhood gem and one worth traveling from your neighborhood to visit if for nothing more than the ambiance. The menu and wine list give backbone to that frame, though. The sea bass was firm yet separated easily under a fork, with a light seasoning that didn't mask the taste of the fish. The pork tenderloin was delicious and artfully arranged around what appeared to be their zucchini gratin. The only dish that didn't stand up were the mussels. They were delicious, but appeared to be pre-cooked and many of the shells were empty. This may have been due to a small and very busy kitchen on a Saturday night. The service was outstanding and the wine selection superb. We'll be returning for the intriguing brunch menu.

Food and ambiance are as wonderful as ever. It has gotten more expensive over the years. But, it still provides good value. Top quality ingredients, always well prepared and nicely presented. On recent visits, service was that nice blend of friendly and professional. We (wife, I, plus many in/out of town guests) have never had a bad food or wine experience here. The space is small. When full, it can feel a bit cramped and get a bit loud. But, it is a “loud” from patrons enjoying their experience. It’s not an annoyance. My one area of complaint is the $22 corkage fee, which I think is excessive.

This was my second time eating at Le P'tit laurent but my first time making a reservation here. The first experience was so good, that I wanted to see if it was a fluke and glad to say, it wasn't. I had the cassoulet which was cooked to perfection. The gazpacho was super flavorful. The ambiance was lively but, we were able to carry on a conversation without difficulty. I love this place and will be my "go-to" restaurant when I want a night off from cooking. Also, they do a nice martini!

We're always looking for restaurants that serve authentic European dishes. Le P'tit Laurent nailed everything from the onion soup, snails and mussels, to the atmosphere you experience in a non-touristy restaurant in France. Even the fries didn't taste like they were baked in a U.S.-based restaurant. Our party of 4 included one toddler (she loved the mussels) and an infant, and they did a great job accommodating us.

Our fourth visit to Le P'tit Laurent was just as wonderful as the previous ones. Service is impeccable. Great suggestion for a wine that would work with all of our entrees. Took advantage of the Back to School fair which included a starter and an entree for $23. The gnocchi entree was delicious as well as the fish entree. The deserts hit the spot--creme broulee and petite pain which was French toast with caramel ice cream. Love the atmosphere.

Le P'tit Laurent is a gem, for sure. It sits in a lovely area at Glen Park, along with several other food and shopping gems. For one rather small block or two, this is a great area and Le P'tit is an anchor. This is my second visit within a few months and the place was, once again, delightful. If I HAD to complain, the sauce for the gnocchi might have been a touch too strong for the delicate dumplings. I only measure by my own taste, which is not usually accustomed to much more than a bit of salt and pepper. Still, the vegetables within the dish and the dumplings themselves were quite good. Here is some advice: go, enjoy the neighborhood and the restaurant. I have a feeling you will enjoy it.

I went out of the way to bring a date to this charming restaurant thinking it was the perfect romantic place to be able to talk and get to know each other. The place itself is still charming, but it was so noisy on a Sunday evening we had to hollar to each other. Our table was right next to a table for four. The food was tasty, but the portions small and the prices fairly high. The waiter was Portuguese and didn't speak French. It's in a great neighborhood.

This is nice restaurant but way over priced for what you get. Unfortunately the service we received was poor. The 5 of us ordered appetizers, 4 of us received at the same time, but it took an extra 5 minutes to get the oysters for the fifth person. I had to call the waiter over before anything was brought to the 5th person. Same thing happened with the main course.Everyone got what they ordered but mine was delayed by 4 minutes. Same item as others ordered. Very poor attention to details
