Le P'tit Laurent is owned by Laurent Legendre, whose passion for great food and wine has resulted in a fine reputation in his adopted San Francisco. Born and raised in Paris, Laurent studied at the internationally acclaimed Ecole Hoteliere and worked at top Parisian restaurants Tour d'argent.… Elysee Le Notre, Arpege and Amphycles. While on vacation in the United tates in 1996, he fell in love with San Francisco and decided to make it his home. Since then he opened Clementine Restaurant in 1998, Bistro Clement in 2001 and his most recent success Le P'tit Laurent open in July 2007.Continued

"This was our first time and it certainly will not be our last. A charming, relatively small French Bistro located in a quaint neighborhood. Their menu provides great choices and there is a three course selection from the entire menu. We were a party of four and each tried a different selection from all three courses. We were all impressed, and my selection of the lamb shank was exceptional. A knife was not reguired. The wine list is extensive and was reasonably priced. Four Stars."

"Prix Fixe menu, very good food, pleasant dining atmosphere makes this a great neighborhood gem. The lamb though tasty could use less salt, the custard caramel dessert be baked a little less time to give it a jiggle when shaken."

"This place was amazing and across the board outstanding. Try the soups and escargot, definitely try their beef stew or grilled bass. Actually, you can try anything because I have yet to try anything there that did not leap at my taste buds. This place is especially perfect for romantic dates."

"It was my 4th time eating at place. From start to finish the service was bad and so slow. 20-25 minutes to order our drinks. Slow on the drinks too, 2 of us got ours, 1 waited and another wanted just tonic and lime. It wasn't tonic water and we had to wait to get the waitress to send it back. 3 People before us had gotten their drinks and bread and the 4 of us were still waiting. I added that it was his birthday on open table and they didn't acknowledge it at all. I guess that I should have reminded them about it but our server wasn't around. We all had the prefix which when it did arrive it was very good. The food was good but the service is not worth going back to try again."

"Every dish we tasted here was well prepared and very tasty, but this is true country French comfort food that tends to be a little heavy. Portions are large, so you will not go home hungry. The service gets a little slow when the house is full, but the servers are friendly and helpful. I will go back."

"This is our favorite French restaurant. It feels a bit like being in Paris, especially if the waiter is French! The food is always carefully matched and prepared. I especially like the fact that the staff always seems happy to have customers and treats us accordingly."
