Fast becoming a favorite, this cozy slice of Quebec in the city is warm in every way, from the greetings of the owner to the efficient service. Pick two concept is a fun try, but look to the nightly specials and entrees (don't miss the lamb shank) for the chef's true talent.

We went there for the Brisket, which, sadly, was very dry, but the service and ambiance, excellent.....may have been an off night....

The food wasn't quite as delicious as I'd hoped but I really enjoyed the decor, the service and the live jazz.

Second time around was as good as the first. The owner's innate sense of hospitality is felt from the minute you walk in the door. Chuck, a Canadian transplant, loves people and it shows; he wants you to be happy, well fed and a new regular. Some dishes of note - braised octopus, smokey Canadian Brisket, and a serious skin on sea bass. Poutine fries, Cajun style rock shrimp, and Canadian Clam Chowder with smoky bacon that makes you want to trade MA for Toronto. The cheese course was perfection, but don't skip the Sugar Pie. With a kitchen staff trained at BLT Fish and Tabla and carefully watched by Chuck, it would be hard to make a bad choice for dinner. Almost forgot the great bar. STOP READING - GO NOW!!! You will thank me.

This was our first visit but probably not the last.
This mostly fish restaurant excelled in preparation of its specialty. Between us we sampled the black bass, grouper, salmon and cod with each being moist, flaky and perfectly seared and - where appropriate - seared with careful attention to accompanying flavors. Quebec clam chowder (with bacon used in its preparation) was creamy, not starchy, and flavorful. Frisee salad (actually baby arugula) with pear, blue cheese and pecans was made with quality product.
Ambiance was more San Francisco funk (a la Slow Club/Soma, Firefly/Noe Valley) than uptown NYC but pleasant enough, and jazz nights provide a bit of welcome entertainment.
All in all, quite nice.

Great brunch spot on Thompson, a quieter street in Soho. I had the poached eggs with smoked trout and it was delicious. Extremely well done and enjoyable experience.

Had a wonderful first experience with food from Quebec. Shrimp appetizer was excellent, and half portions of fish is a very nice innovation. Service was superb; everyone very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

A great space with a live Jazz band on certain days. Competent kitchen and terrific atmosphere. I will be back and recommend that you give it a try. The fish dishes are great as is the lamb.

I completely enjoyed my experince here. From the helpful waitstaff who made excellent recommendations, the wonderful jazz trio, and the jovial crowd, this was an A-plus experience. The entire wall against the side walk was opened, and it really made the place feel spacious. I'd recommend this place to anybody looking for a truly enjoyable experience.
