A word from Le Persil Bistro
Le Persil Bistro is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) establishment, located right across the street of the Sherman Theater, in the heart of historic downtown Stroudsburg. Our menu includes typical French dishes such as Salade d’endives et poires, Coquilles Saint-Jacques au beurre blanc, Steak frites with béarnaise sauce, Boeuf Bourguignon a la Ancienne, Coq au Vin, Crêpes Suzette and avec des fruits, Crème Brûlée and much more.

Reservations for dinner are strongly recommended for Fridays and Saturdays.

  • "I've gone to Le Persil twice now and can happily say both visits were superb. The french cuisine is highly authentic (real gruyere on the french onion soup!) and excellently prepared. The restaurant itself is fairly small and never seems to get too busy, although I've only gone during weekend brunch hours. Nevertheless, if you're heading into PA - I highly recommend stopping by Le Persil for a quick and delicious lunch."

  • "Dined here when passing through on a road trip. Bit surprised that no wine in a "French Bistro" (BYOB). I should have checked first. Not busy on a Monday evening..I was the sole diner, so a bit short on ambience. However the food made up for any negatives."

  • "I was so excited when I realized this was a French bistro, not Italian. Our meals were exquisite. The sauces were silky smooth and scrumptious. The creme brulee was perfect. It's BYOB which makes it as affordable as going to a bar & grill where you pay $6-10 per drink. We will definitely be going back! Very happy to have found this restaurant so close to home."

  • "We are in desperate need of a French restaurant in this area. We went on a Friday night, it's a BYOB which is nice, the food was great, the chef came out to greet us which is rarely done, but the personal touch made us feel welcome. I had the lobster ravioli and it was fantastic, the best I've ever had. My husband had the coq au vin, the sauce was rich and delicious, the chicken was tender and moist but the chicken tasted like it was previously refrigerated and reheated. My husband had the crepes suzette which was really delicious! I had the fresh fruit crepes which was also great, the crepes were light with just a hint of vanilla, yummy! I want to go back and try all the deserts, they sounded wonderful and I am a desert lover."

  • "Le Persil Bistro presents itself exactly as a French Bistro should -- buttoned up but casual, simple yet elegant, and just enough energy to keep out the stuffiness. We (two of us) started off with the roasted beet salad. I am dubious about whether the beets were truly roasted, however, the salad was a good portion, had a nice simple dressing, and the cheese they used to top it with was really high quality and flavorful. . We split the Filet and Bourguignon entrees; both were flavorful but not too salty (as French food sometimes is), and the Filet was cooked exactly as we ordered it. Overall, this restaurant is excellent in terms of food, service and ambiance. Hint: take advantage of the BYOB and visit one of Penn's local wineries!"

  • "A charming little restaurant with excellent french food. Most restaurants in the area are geared to college students focusing on burgers, wings, and cocktails. This is authentic french food with excellent boeuf bourguignon, mussels in white wine and garlic, escargot, and crepes. There are even some dishes that require a days notice to prepare such as poached peaches and pears, a delicacy rarely found except in the most expensive venues. The prices a very good for the quality of the food. Also, the restaurant is BYOB, with the restaurant providing corkage and wine buckets for those bringing champagne or white wine. This is a great find in to Poconos and could easily succeed in Manhattan or Philadelphia."

It was prepared with capers, grape tomatoes, a little onion and the best buttery lemon sauce - light and delicious. It was served with a choice of starch. My choice this evening was the mashed potato, possibly the best I've ever had. Finished with the chocolate mousse. A great dining experience."

Wonderful and welcoming staff, delightful French menu, and eager-to-please chef made this a special dinner in a corner of PA otherwise not known for much culinary to say the least. Linen tablecloths and quiet ambiance to boot. The BYOB policy made the whole meal very reasonable (liquor store with good selection just 2 blocks away). For anyone visiting the area - this is your #1 choice!!"
