Le Pavillonone of our favorite restaurants,one of our favorite restaurants, it never disappoints, Located in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, features french/german cuisine. I had the rack of lamb, Cooked to perfection! One of the specials that night was a filet with bernaise sauce. My husband ate every bit! Trout was selected by one of our guests for the evening and the chicken curry was selected by his wife. Everything was wonderful. And don't forget dessert!

The background music was pleasant but not obtrusive - something a lot of other restaurants should emulate. The wine list was not huge, but there was sufficient variety, and the two glasses we had (one Riesling and one Merlot/Cabernet blend) were excellent at $8 each. Dinner included a very fresh salad - just greens, but with a very nice dressing. We had veal Oscar, and found it among the best we have ever had - two cutlets cooked properly, with tasty crab meat and white asparagus in the sauce. We also tried the chicken curry - very mild with two breast cutlets and great accompanying rice, banana, and chutney.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIt depends on what you seek...The food was good, the menu varied, and the service was competent. The main dining room is nicely decorated in a traditional way. We had a group of six and we were seated in a room by ourselves with a large, round, table. Perfect! We have always had a good experience, but during this particular visit the service was very slow.
