A word from Le Parisien
Le Parisien is the go-to neighborhood bistrot for Murray Hill, offering classic French food like steak frites, escargots and moules marinieres, paired with a well-edited list of french wines.
Chef Johnathan Masse brings his expert knowledge of comfort food, having most recently served as sous chef at the Waverly Inn, and also for Chef Jonathan Waxman of Barbuto. Along with owner Christian Merand, formerly of Jean-Claude in Soho, they have created a restaurant that focuses on serving consistently great traditional food with a lively and unmistakeably French atmosphere.

Also open daily for lunch and brunch on weekends.

Have been to many Bistro's in Paris that are so similar to le Parisienne. Tight tables, bustling, good carafes of the house wines, but with good service. It reminds me very much of Chez Denis in Paris. I always end up talking to the people at the next table. The place has a good vibe. Good salads and the appetizers all looked very good. The roast chicken is delicious. The steak is okay, but the frites are crisp and very good. Good creme brûlée A Great place to have in the neighborhood. Reservations a must on the week-end.

Dined here on a cold and windy evening. Service was brusque, but efficient. Table next to ours was to to hurry along as there were diners waiting. We were not rushed, though our server did not mention the specials to us. Trout abd skate dishes were as described. Salad were exceptional.

The restaurant is easily accessible by subway, great service and delicious food - all at a reasonable price. My mom and I shared an order of the escargot, and for the mains she had the salmon and I had the roast chicken. Even though the restaurant is tiny, and they had a line up, we were not rushed as we finished our bottle of wine. I would definitely recommend reservations.

We were long time customers of Jean Claude's in Soho and were so disappointed when it closed. To find its reincarnation was a great surprise. Le Parisien was everything we were hoping for; cosy setting, friendly welcome and service and delicious food. Thank goodness there was no hip bar, no shouting throng, no over-heated menu. Just a very comfortable place to have a good, honest meal and conversation with friends.

Friends reccommended this place! We made our reservations weeks in advance and good thing because the place was packed and several people who didn't have reservations were turned away. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The place had a positive energy to it! The mussels were amazing and the fries that came with them were addictive! My friends and I love this little place! Food is always good - this time my fish could have been a bit hotter - but overall everything was fine. Service is always pleasant, and the pricing is especially good - considering how the neighborhood keeps "gentrifying" - we find Le Parisien to be a great value!

Cozy 30+ seat (so you had better make reservations) Parisien style neighborhood bistro. Love the beet salad with goat cheese. I crave the roast chicken with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and a sauce that will having you drooling. Wife loves the mussels in white wine. Way better than Leon de Bruxelles in Paris or any place in NYC. I've also enjoy the steak frites and the fish specials. Profiteroles with dark semi sweet chocolate is perfect to share along with some espresso, Wines by the glass, carafe and bottle are very reasonable in price. Great hospitality. We especially like going Wed. through Sunday when Anna and Christian are there.

I NEVER write reviews however this place deserves ten stars... My boyfriend and I went on a whim and we could not have been more surprised and happier. Everything from the wine down on to dessert was to DIE for. Homemade fries....best fries I've ever had in my life. We never order dessert but since dinner was so delicious we had to experience the floating isle which was recommended by our waiter and the sweetest couple sitting next to us. I've never had anything like it, but I know I wanted to take home 20 of them. The tables are a little cramped, but if you're with that someone you love, you won't mind being close. I would HIGHLY recommend this place as it was one of the best experiences I've had eating in the city.

Just had dinner with a friend here and it was busy on a Tuesday night! The place is really cute and the seating is very tight - so you will be able to hear your neighbors. But the food is very good - we ordered Mussels, Duck Confit, and Skate Fish - all delicious! The presentation is also very lovely and thoughtful. This is a neighborhood gem offering wonderful French fare at good prices. Would definitely recommend for small groups.

They have a croque monsieur on the menu but they were willing to add an egg on top (croque madame). There was a $1 charge for the addition but I thought that was reasonable. The croque madame was made correctly and it was delicious. I would go there again the next time I'm in New York when I'm eager to have a croque madame.

Small, unpretentious and welcoming! The service was excellent. The food was fantastic! I had the beet and goat cheese salad which, as a beet lover, was sooo good. Le Parisien is a moderately priced French restaurant. The menu is not extensive but it has all the usual suspects: steak frites, duck, a few fish dishes, etc. There is a nice assortment of interesting salads. It is nice to have a French restaurant in the neighborhood to complement the many Italian and Asian ones.

My steak was overcooked and very tough. Fries were ok. Rainbow trout was good. Not kid friendly, no high chairs. One of the employees actually sushed my 19 month old when he made a noise (and wasn't joking), even though the table next to us was laughing and screaming at a much higher decibel level. that just made for a very unwelcome experience.

Despite the awfully cheesy video on their website, which I actually enjoyed and got a kick out of, Le Parisien did prove itself to be what it claimed to represent. My dining experience at LP was nothing short of fantastic. The escargot, goat cheese salad, mussels, and floating island tasted great. My only complaint would be the fries; I didn't particularly fancy them. But overall, great service, and wonderful ambiance. I would say to make a reservation mainly because this place is not too big. Will definitely come back in the near future.
