A word from Le Papillon on the Park
Toronto’s original neighbourhood French restaurant est. 1974. Our latest location reminds guests of a Montreal bistro. The food is authentic French-Canadian accented with French classics. There is much attention to detail in the service and the atmosphere is elegant but laid-back.

Located in Leslieville and steps from the Beach, we're 5 minutes from downtown Toronto with ample free parking at our front door. Prix fixe menus, private events - we have it all - and we look forward to having you over!

great menu selections. My favorite steak frite. My steak was a little too well done, but I did not complain. The waitress brought a new one without my asking. Service was exceptional. Must try the house specialty for desert, bread pudding, its fabulous. Good wine list, lots from France and Niagara Region. I will definitely be back again.

No daiquiris, service was adequate but not fast and limited lunch menu. Dessert was excellent. Soup of the day was also very good. Main dishes were weak and not a great variety. Caesar salad was very spicy.

It is an advantage to be able to book a table for weekend brunch when so many places do not have this policy. Rather than waiting in line on the side walk one can be seated in a pleasant setting and enjoy a leisurely and tasty meal.

The first time I went, I had eggs Benedict with a portobello mushroom encrusted in panko. It was delicious. This visit i had their special- eggs Benedict with chili on top of toast. I didn't really enjoy it. However, I topped it off with a desert crepe and it was so good!! Service was excellent:)

We booked our brunch reservation the night before we dined, the website site was easy to navigate and extremely helpful. I even had to change the time and that was no problem either. The dining area is beautiful and they were happy to accommodate Grandma in her wheel chair, they have main floor washrooms which also makes this place a prime pick for eating out with Grandma. Our server was delightful and attentive. Our food was, as always, perfection. We all ate every bite and then stuck around for desert. I'm very glad I opted to split my banana Royal with Grandma because the portion was huge, though between the two of us we managed.

Le Papillon has become our restaurant of choice in the East End for dinners with friends or family. The noise level is low and the space between tables allows conversation without shouting. The service is very good, and we never feel rushed. The menu is short, but the food is always excellent. The traditional Quebec dishes are an extra bonus for a transplanted Quebecois.

This was our first visit to the restaurant. We found the ambience quite unique, and the location appealing. Service was very good, and the restaurant passed the test on two fronts personally: they offer fresh bread with dinner without being asked, and the washrooms are very clean. The menu was interesting, but seems to lack something. Still in all quite good. My only disappointment was that the portion size for the tourtiere was small and not meaty enough although tasty. The French onion soup is excellent. Overall I like the restaurant. Note: we didn't try the rooftop patio, which offers a different ambience altogether.

We have been to Le Papillon 6 -7 times this year. One of the good things is parking, we don't have to struggle to find a spot nor do we feel compelled to take a taxi, although we did the last visit for unrelated reasons. The staff is friendly, very helpful, and the kitchen staff always speak to us when we pass, which is another plus. The food is very good and the tortiere is a favourite of ours. The deserts are excellent. We have eaten in French restaurants in Paris, Marseille, thoughout Provence, in Montreal, Quebec and New Brunswick and Le Papilion holds up very well in that company.

Beautiful setup of the restaurant. The outdoor patio is surrounded by trees on the second floor. The food is amazing! Much of their ingredients come from their own organic garden. Wonderful service and peaceful setting. They even light up candles at night. It is not recommended for young children.

My wife and I went there after looking at their menu online. We are both vegetarian so we appreciate the number of available choices on the menu. The waitress was very friendly -- she came around at least a dozen times to ensure that our cups are filled with water. The food was outstanding -- the best vegetarian food I've had in many years. Even the bread and butter was so good -- we had 3 rolls! Highly suggested for vegans and meat lovers alike!

Unfortunately the patio was closed and that was specifically what we went for. the food was okay, we had the beef tartar and salmon tartar, both of us thought it was not that great. I had the seafood in a tortilla shell, and it was soggy and not really that flavourful. My partner had lamb and I think she enjoyed it becuase the chef actually knows what RARE means. LE Palillion on Front Street (which is 5 minute walk from our place), was outstanding food, service and Ambience.

I've dined at Papillion a few times. The service is always friendly and the food is fresh, beautifully presented and flavourful. The Québécois inspired menu offers a unique selection - the crepes sweet and savoury are especially tasty. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and there is always wonderful artwork on display. My only criticism lies with the rooftop patio - it looks great in pictures -I believe they even grow some of their ingredients in planters up there, BUT it is always closed when I go there even when otherwise indicated on the website or when I've made a reservation specifically for the patio.

Came here as a group of 8 with four children for brunch on a Sunday. It took over 45 minutes for even a single appetizer to arrive. The kids were of course starving forcing us to fill them with bread as we continued to wait. We were told a total of five times that they were sorry but they were very busy upstairs on the patio. This of course did nothing to appease us and only made us feel like second class citizens. With that kind of wait I think they could have done a lot more. When the food finally did come it was generally mediocre and disappointing. Foods was way over priced and either over seasoned or completely bland. I can't fault the waitress but the manager and the kitchen are way under par for a venue at this price point.

I have been dining at Le Papillon on the Park for years since I live within walking distance. I love this restaurant for the ambience and the Quebec fare. The best food items are the steaks and the salads. On this visit, table for 4 on the patio, and 3 of us ordered fish / seafood dishes. All our food was extremely salty. We did not complain as we did not want to send anything back; it was late and we were hungry. The pate appetizers were delicious, but the brie dish was salty and did not taste good. The service was slow; we sat with our plates not cleared for a very long time and would have liked to order more drinks but the server was no where to be seen. Not sure if I want to continue my affair with this restaurant.
