Le Midi Bar & RestaurantBeautiful and good price!I went to Midi after craving some French Onion Soup, was pleased to find a beautiful open layout restaurant and comfortable booth seating. my server was attentive and sweet, and explained the courses to me in detail. I ordered the French Onion Soup and Frites. whilst waiting for my food I was served fresh baked bread rolls and butter. Delicious!
My soup was perfect, hot and comforting on that rainy day yet robust and filling in flavour. the cheese was delicious. My frites were out of this world and presented to me in a cone shaped wire apparatus. Pre fixe was good value and the french onion soup was excellent. Was a little quiet, which meant I could get some writing done. Came here with a girlfriend and we were both really impressed, especially as English Francophiles. We had scallops and mussels to start and then boeuf bourgignon - all were delicious. The lovely warm rolls are a nice touch and were very fresh. The most impressive thing about this place though is the pricing - it's really good value but doesn't feel budget. I have now eaten there several times on different nights and every time was a fabulous experience. Have eaten there a couple of times with larger groups (6-8) and everyone has always enjoyed their meals.
The food has been delightful every time and the service is prompt and engaged. Excellent wine list that is well priced. Also, the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere - not too loud, the tables are well placed, stylishly decorated. Great bar to gather before the meal.

Had escargot and mussels, lots of garlic and awesome. Had steak poivre and skate as well, really good. We were very happy with our choices. The waitstaff was a little too attentive. It's overkill and disruptive to have three different people ask if we wanted another glass of wine. The food was delicious and the portions were reasonable. At first it was very noisy due to a large birthday group seated next to us that was a bit loud. However, once they settled down so did the noise level. I made a mistake in ordering and they made up an entire new plate although clearly the mistake was mine.
