We went to have oysters and great food and were not disappointed. We started with a dozen oysters with a mix of east coast and west cost oysters. Adding the horseradish, cocktail sauce and a squirt of lemon left us wanting more. For dinner, my friend selected the Saucisse de Homard, which is a sausage made of lobster, shrimp and scallops served with a variety of beans. I had the Steak Frites. Neither of us were disappointed and we ended up sharing both dishes. For dessert we shared a Chocolate Mint Entremet. Great! Every dish was excellent, but our favorite was the Lyonaisse salad. It was a fresh as can be, the arugula with just the proper bite. This after a long day of yard work and a few well deserved cocktails. This, of course, probably left me a little too tired and tipsy to fully enjoy my dinner. We started with an assortment of cheeses (very good), Duck Rillet and Bone Marrow. Never in a million years would I have ordered the last two items but my son, who is a bit of a foodie, ordered them and made me taste them. Both were actually quite delicious. We also had some wonderful bread with an amazing, citrusy butter. Entrees were excellent as was the wine and our server was delightful, informative and very efficient. The food was great the service was very friendly and energetic, and the restaurant it self has the charm of a small bistro in France. It was a a little loud but not to loud that we couldn't talk to each other or anything, and I think it was mostly due to it being mothers day so there we some younger children around that I would assume wouldnt normally be there. The food is a mix of current cuisine trends, bistro classics, and interesting twists to bring it all together. The execution is exacting and the end result is a high end meal at a fair price and a welcoming air surrounding it all. The St. Germain cocktail is a spring time must and the wine list has something to meet everyone's taste. The Coq au Vin was excellent but not a huge portion. The bread was great and I love the touch of lemon zest in the butter. Great oysters, pate, really everything. This meal got off to a bit of a rough start though because of parking. Le Grand offers valet for Friday and Saturday night, but it really needs to bring it on for weekend brunch. I dropped off my girlfriend and her parents and searched for parking for 45 minutes. Nearby lots were full and it was really hard to find a metered spot.
