Le Grand Bistro and Oyster Bar
Enjoyed Mothers Day at LeEnjoyed Mothers Day at Le Grand.. Had the scallops. Done to perfection. Will return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGuaranteed great food and service! We dine at Le Grand Bistro and Oyster Bar for lunch with clients, happy hour with friends, dinner with the family but their Mother's Day brunch has been something to talk about for two years now! I have not had a better brunch, better service or better food on a buffet. Every time, great food and great service!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchI took my mom here for brunch on Mother's Day and she loved it! It was her first visit to Le Grand and my 3rd, but first time for their brunch. Everything was wonderful! Mom wants to make Le Grande a Mother's Day tradition.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMProbably better than this reviewI had dinner at Le Grand Bistro Mother's Day Evening. This after a long day of yard work and a few well deserved cocktails. This, of course, probably left me a little too tired and tipsy to fully enjoy my dinner. We started with an assortment of cheeses (very good), Duck Rillet and Bone Marrow. Never in a million years would I have ordered the last two items but my son, who is a bit of a foodie, ordered them and made me taste them. Both were actually quite delicious. We also had some wonderful bread with an amazing, citrusy butter. Entrees were excellent as was the wine and our server was delightful, informative and very efficient. Would love to write more but the review section allow for much. Overall a great evening!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers Day BrunchI brought my mother here on mothers day for there brunch buffet and it was wonderful! The food was great the service was very friendly and energetic, and the restaurant it self has the charm of a small bistro in France. It was a a little loud but not to loud that we couldn't talk to each other or anything, and I think it was mostly due to it being mothers day so there we some younger children around that I would assume wouldnt normally be there. We looked at the other menus as well and they all had some wonderful sounding dished on them, I am definitely going to go back again! They also have a good variety on the wine list, and a full service bar as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Le Grand!Love this bistro; return again and again. This time the oyster selection was phenomenal, and the menu was as solid as usual. Service is always great. A great dinner spot, and one worth visiting over and over.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at Le Grand BistroWe had great food and service. Also, I thought that the prices made it all even better. We had a nice table all in all a very positive experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Steak Frites is a fantasticThe Steak Frites is a fantastic meal with very good value $18. Our drinks were very good. French Onion Soup was very good. The Fruit de Mer Platter with an assortment of shrimp, scallops and oysters was very good but very overpriced at $44 for the amount of food you get. Our only complaint as the waiter was entertaining and very good!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMighty musselsTry the mussels in classic wine sauce. Plump and perfect4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved our lunch here. TheWe loved our lunch here. The food was amazing, the service was awesome and we didn't want to leave. There are several items on the menu I still want to try. The Roasted Chicken sandwich is really good. Staff is always pleasant and attentive.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful BrunchWe had a wonderful Brunch in celebration of my wife's birthday!! We have already recommended Le Grand Bistro to somem friends and we will come back!!!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, great food andWonderful, great food and service. The best oysters in town!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFastastic, as usual! ForFastastic, as usual! For this visit, I was blown away by the sides - a three bean "cassoulet" with bacon could have been a meal by itself. Turned down finishing off my wife's enormous entre just to allow my meal to linger. Aside from the noise, which was rather loud despite not being too crowded as late in the evening as we ate, Le Grand was again an excpetional experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEntrees were smaller in portionEntrees were smaller in portion but big in flavor. I had a seafood sausage and my date had the duck two ways. Both dishes had great sauces and well-prepared veggies. Though I wish I had more after finishing the plate, the dinner was very satisfying. Service was very good. Server insisted that I try samples of drinks before choosing one -- great job on her part.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBefore going to the opera,Before going to the opera, we dined here which is about 1.5 blocks from the theatre. Our first visit to Le Grand and we were extremely impressed. The food was amazing with lots of great flavors. For the appetizer, we tried the bone marrow dish and it was spectacular in taste and presentation. What a delicacy. Wonderful service. Definitely looking forward to a return trip.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great lunch, the musselsHad a great lunch, the mussels were outstanding. Going back for brunch!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch in Denver! We went to the Easter Brunch ($35/ea) at Le Grand Bistro and it was fantastic! The food was perfectly prepared and the selection was amazing. There were two carving stations (ham and prime rib) as well as two custom-order omelet stations. There were also dozens of other prepared dishes to choose from: ham and veg benedicts, scrambled eggs, bacon, HUGE tail-on shrimp and oysters on the halfshell, plus cheeses, breads, fruits, yogurts, etc. (too many to name). And for the little ones, chafing dishes with chicken tenders and mac & cheese. The dessert bar had a great assortment of sweets to please any palate. And we opted to spend the extra $9 for bottomless mimosas which were great!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a family gathering forHad a family gathering for Easter brunch. Had chosen the restaurant because one of our party has lived in France. There was something on the buffet for everyone; including a nice variety for our one vegetarian. We noted there were families; one table on the buffet had mac and cheese, potato pops and chicken bites--clearly an accommodation for young guests. Restaurant was accommodating to our request for a different table in a quieter corner-one individual in our party has a hearing problem and the noise level at our original table made it difficult for her to enjoy the occasion. When we had to wait a bit for a booth to clear they provided drinks to us at the outside tables. The person who has lived in France declared the food delicious.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is excellent! The food here is excellent! Our party of 4 had a 6pm reservation but arrived very early (around 5:40). Dinner service had not picked up, so the hostess offered to seat us immediately (I was expecting to sit at the bar until 6:00). We accepted a table and after a few minutes our waiter greeted us and took a drink order. It was another 20 minutes before our drinks arrived, at which time he inquired if we were going to the theatre after, and I told him we were. Eventually we ordered but our dinner didn't arrive until 6:50, at which point we were starting to feel the press for time to eat, pay and make it back the block and a half walk to the Buell before the 7:30 show. We would have appreciated more time to enjoy the food, and less waiting.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe end up eating at Le GrandWe end up eating at Le Grand Bistro before we head over to a show at the DCPA - it's fantastic food! Will be coming back quite often!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous againLe Grand continues to impress. Once again they were rockstars with our large group of 15 people. We were loud, obnoxious and I'm sure a really pain for the staff, but they never missed a beat. The food all came at once and was amazing as usual.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat bistro vibe.Overall a very pleasant and fun experience. Good fresh and tasty dinner. Will go back many times. Just down the street from DCPA a short pleasant walk. Loved the whole experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLots of Variety and tasty lunchThere is a wide variety on the lunch menu and I plan to go back to check out some of the other items that sound wonderful. The Coq au Vin was excellent but not a huge portion. The bread was great and I love the touch of lemon zest in the butter. My friend had the chicken sandwich and she thought it was great and it seemed like a really big serving especially with the french fries.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been many times and LeI've been many times and Le Grand is always spot on. Great oysters, pate, really everything. This meal got off to a bit of a rough start though because of parking. Le Grand offers valet for Friday and Saturday night, but it really needs to bring it on for weekend brunch. I dropped off my girlfriend and her parents and searched for parking for 45 minutes. Nearby lots were full and it was really hard to find a metered spot. Ultimately it was worth the hassle, but Le Grand would be greatly improved by offering valet during weekend brunch.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding service and accommodatiOutstanding service and accommodation of food allergies.
Steak of steak frites very fatty and not of quality it should be for the price. This signature dish should be a priority in a French bistro3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for brunch and had aWent for brunch and had a great time. My only problem was that the portions were insanely huge. And rather than warning us the waitress recommended sides to add. The food was great, but we had way too much of it. I will definitely go again, but next time I will know to split something.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I went here forMy wife and I went here for dinner. We started our meal off with the french onion soup and the beet salad. Both were fantastic. Our main courses included a tasty gnocchi with duck confit and seared scallops that were cooked perfectly and tasted divine. For dessert we had the tangerine napoleon that was also outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is accessible French. This is accessible French. The food is wonderful, and the drinks never disappoint. Happy Hour is a great deal, with good wine/beer specials, cheap oysters and a classy setting.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the french onion soupI had the french onion soup to start and what a great choice! Entree was Steak Frites with a side of the Gnoccis. Steak had too much fat and gristle. Gnocci were excellent. Best part was the service; Waitress was very pleasant & prompt.2/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy companion and I had a fantasticMy companion and I had a fantastic time.
